Private room in the best part of Beijing for students. Nearby are bars, cheap restaurants, shopping mall and supermarket. Wudaokou Subway station is just a 10 min walk away, easy to get anywhere.
I'm currently renting a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, bathroom and a small living room. I'm living together with my GF the big bedroom and the small bedroom is for rent (~10-12m2). We share the bathroom, kitchen and living room. The bath room is quite nice. Much better than the average bathroom in the houses around here... The apartment is in on the 5th floor of a 6 floor old Beijing building with a staircase. It is in an old building complex, built around 50-60 years ago. Our apartment is furnished pretty nice and renovated though. Real Beijing people live around you, with a small local market nearby.
I'm currently doing my masters at Tsinghua University in Software Engineering and also doing part-time work. My girlfriend is also working as Software Engineer and Chinese. We are both easy to get a long.
The neighborhood at Wudaokou is really nice, you can walk to BLCU in 2-5 min and walk to Tsinghua University is about 15 min, also nearby Wudaokou subway station ~ ８ mins walk. Peking university is like 10-15 mins by bike. Nearby are restaurants, supermarket and shopping mall.
There is also a bar / club area in Wudaokou which are full of Foreign students. If you're looking to travel you can just take the subway station at Wudaokou to go to Forbidden City etc or if you want to go to the great wall you can take a train nearby Wudaokou at Qinghua yuan station.
Hope you can relax and enjoy the stay at our place at ease and peacefully. Please check the house rules and introduce yourself a little bit if you want to stay with us :)
Bathroom, living room and kitchen are equally shared, but please after using clean it so that it is at least usable for the next person :)
Totally depends on the guest, sometimes we eat some stuff together in the living room or go out for breakfast etc, and normal chit-chatter. I'm not a big-talker though hehe.
It's in the center of all big universities in Beijing, such as BLCU (2 min walk), Tsinghua(15 min walk), Peking University(20-25 min walk). So it's full of foreign students especially Korean students.
Also there is a bar street in Wudaokou and a shopping mall with a supermarket. And many cheap restaurants.
There are lots of busses, but the subway is the most convenient in Beijing. It's a 7-10 min walk to the subway station.
I have spent four weeks in this room. The hosts were really friendly and the room met all my expectations. I felt as if I were in my own appartment shared with a couple of flatmates. Quiet in the night, everything very close and in walking distance (fruit market 2 minutes, underground station 10 minutes, supermarket 10 minutes, a selection of restaurants nearby, a good language school 15 minutes away). Easy access from airport by underground, area very well described in internet as this where many foreign students live. Sam helped me to get some items on TaoBao. Generally I feel very positive about my stay and think that it was a very good decision to choose this room.
I stayed at Sam and Marrys appartment with my girlfriend in january of 2014. Unfortunately Sam was away at the time but Marry took really good care of us. The beds were a bit hard, but than again thats the case with most beds in China. We were in the area visiting friends who are studying there, and for that the location was great. Many universities and college bars very near by and also a short walk to the train station. The stay was very good! Thanks Marry.
