Interaction with Guests
I am happy to share my living areas with guests, there is Internet TV, WiFi, separate study room to read or meditate, or listen to music and unwind.
It is an easy bus trip to the city centre (16, 31, 41 and 44) and to the Wicklow Mountains just from the end of my street (44 bus) and I can help with orientation and directions in Dublin.
I live on a quiet street. It's safe and friendly. Albert Park is alongside the grounds in DCU and is a great amenity for walking and running. The OMNI shopping centre is walking distance and has a cinema complex and restaurants (mainly fast food in the OMNI shopping centre. Closer than town is Drumcondra and there are nicer restaurants there. The city centre is very close, an easy cycle, a 40 minute walk and a 10 - 20 min bus ride. The buses all drop you along the O'Connell Street - Dame Street - Georges Street focus of the city centre. If you are arriving late and would like a snack, just let me know and I will have some soup or spaghetti hoops (my favourite snack) or a sandwich.
Safe free on street parking. Public transport: (phone number hidden) Dublin bikes 20 min walk away
Other Things to Note
I have three very well cared for and well-behaved cats. Your bedroom is out of bounds for them. They spend most of their time out of doors but enjoy socialising.
Respect the space. I am a non-smoker but you can smoke in the garden. It is my home so sometimes I have projects on the go so it is not a museum! Expect some moderate clutter in the shared spaces. Nothing too oppressive.
Drunken behaviour is not welcome - if you are coming to Dublin to go on a drinking spree this is not the house for you!
Please let me know your flight details and expected arrival time so I can be here to greet you.
It is a quiet house on a residential street so if you are returning late (after eleven) please keep the noise to a minimum.
Brenda was a warm and welcoming host. She accommodated our needs and was happy to share her knowledge of Dublin that we might further enjoy our trip. The shared her bus pass with us which made for an easy 10 minute journey in and out of the city center. Breakfast was prepared in the morning. When we departed, she offered to drive us to our next destination. Thank you Brenda ! :)
Brenda has a lovely home. Well situated, between the airport and city center.
And she cooks delicious scones!
Thank you Brenda!
Brenda's Dublin home is approx 15 mins from the airport if you are driving, and approx 20 mins from downtown Dublin via Bus which is 10mins walking distance from the home. Brenda is a very lovely person who was extremely helpful and kind! Wish we had more time with Brenda, her lovely cats, and her home. Our room was very clean and spacious, with a double and single bed. Breakfast was delicious, and kudos to Brenda for waking up early on a Saturday morning since our flight was early haha. Would love to visit again.
Brenda was brilliant! We were welcomed with tea and scones, and she could not have been more helpful in orientating us in Dublin. The room was exactly as described, in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood. Very easy to get to town or the airport using the #16 bus, though on our arrival the buses were on strike. Brenda provided us with a wonderful, very filling breakfast and helped us with just about everything we did around Dublin. In summary, she made the visit to Dublin even more enjoyable than it would otherwise have been.
Our stay at Brenda's was lovely. The rooms were perfect, the freshly baked scones delicious, and the location was close to the center but far away enough to be able to relax from the crowded city center of Dublin. Of course, these are all important features, but the thing we liked most was Brenda's personality. She helped us with everything, we could call her for advice, and we had great laughs and chats together. So: if you want a nice, cosy and comfortable stay and if you want to meet very kind people, go to Brenda.
