The Space

Room with a double bed and a single very comfortable futon if needed. Goose down duvet, cotton sheets. Free WiFi downstairs. Tea and coffee making facilities in the kitchen. Comfortable modern bathroom, (shared with me, but very low traffic!) good shower, bath, clean towels. Breakfast - a choice of fresh home-made scones (baking is one of my hobbies) fruit and yoghurt or scrambled egg and toast, filter coffee and tea. Very comfortable and airy extension with well-maintained garden. Ideal for anyone who is visiting or studying at DCU.

Guest Access

Quiet study room for guest use. Join us in the kitchen, living room, dining room. Relax in the garden.

Interaction with Guests

I am happy to share my living areas with guests, there is Internet TV, WiFi, separate study room to read or meditate, or listen to music and unwind.
It is an easy bus trip to the city centre (16, 31, 41 and 44) and to the Wicklow Mountains just from the end of my street (44 bus) and I can help with orientation and directions in Dublin.

The Neighborhood

I live on a quiet street. It's safe and friendly. Albert Park is alongside the grounds in DCU and is a great amenity for walking and running. The OMNI shopping centre is walking distance and has a cinema complex and restaurants (mainly fast food in the OMNI shopping centre. Closer than town is Drumcondra and there are nicer restaurants there. The city centre is very close, an easy cycle, a 40 minute walk and a 10 - 20 min bus ride. The buses all drop you along the O'Connell Street - Dame Street - Georges Street focus of the city centre. If you are arriving late and would like a snack, just let me know and I will have some soup or spaghetti hoops (my favourite snack) or a sandwich.

Getting Around

Safe free on street parking. Public transport: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Dublin bikes 20 min walk away

Other Things to Note

I have three very well cared for and well-behaved cats. Your bedroom is out of bounds for them. They spend most of their time out of doors but enjoy socialising.

House Rules

Respect the space. I am a non-smoker but you can smoke in the garden. It is my home so sometimes I have projects on the go so it is not a museum! Expect some moderate clutter in the shared spaces. Nothing too oppressive.

Drunken behaviour is not welcome - if you are coming to Dublin to go on a drinking spree this is not the house for you!

Please let me know your flight details and expected arrival time so I can be here to greet you.

It is a quiet house on a residential street so if you are returning late (after eleven) please keep the noise to a minimum.
