Please read before booking!Small, single room in a clean, welcoming home. Quiet, residential area, 7 KM from centre by bus 9 and 83. Close to Botanic Gardens and DCU. Please note: I HAVE A CAT. Female guests or couples only.
I have lived here for five years and I like my home to be as appealing, comfortable and welcoming as possible. I love hosting with Air BnB and I'm happy to say I have great reviews from the great people who've stayed here.
Shared bathroom, towels provided. My kitchen is tiny so you're free to make tea/coffee or sandwich/snack but it's not available for major cooking. I'll leave a light breakfast out for you in the morning (tea/coffee, cereal, toast).
Interaction with Guests
I'm friendly and helpful and I can give you lots of tips about where to go for the best value and quality in Dublin/Ireland. I enjoy hosting people but I also realise that you'll probably be busy with your own plans or tired/jetlagged so I won't intrude! Sometimes I work from home; sometimes I go out a lot.
My neighbourhood is quiet and safe with nice parks and lots of greenery; only 10 minutes by bus from Botanic Gardens or Andersons Cafe. Very close to Glasnevin Cemetery Museum and the famous Gravediggers pub. The no.9 bus stops outside my house and takes you straight to Trinity College and the whole city centre. My last guests loved going to the local pubs but I always go into town to socialise around Grafton St and George's St.
PLEASE PRINT BEFORE YOUR TRIP! COMING FROM THE AIRPORT: The taxi takes about 15 mins and costs about 20 Euro. Please print out my address on (website hidden) Maps before you come (McKee ROAD, Finglas) as the taxi drivers don't always know my street.OR you can get the 747 express bus to town (about 6 Euro) and then the 9 bus from O'Connell St to my house (2.75). No 9 takes you straight to centre and Trinity College from my house. Also on 83 route and quite close to 40 or 140. I can offer one parking space in my drive. If you are using public transport you can get a LEAP card; otherwise you need exact change on the bus.
Other Things to Note
I prefer female guests (travelling solo) or couples/friends.
The single room is very small and only suitable for short stays. Guests - please get verified on Air BnB and post a photo if you don't mind. I don't accept people who are not verified.
I prefer female guests (travelling solo) or couples/friends. As this is my home, and not a business, I expect guests to respect the space, clean up after themselves if they have breakfast or use the shower etc. Smoking outside please - loads of space and seating in the back garden. Please don't shower after 11 pm.
Staying with Allyson was fantastic! She was super welcoming and made sure I always had everything I needed. It was a very comfortable place to stay, and I definitely felt at home while I was there. I would highly recommend staying there, if I ever make it back to Dublin I'll be sure to stay again.
Very good stay at Alyson's!
The house is comfortable, clean and you feel at ease. Quiet neighbourhood.
Alyson was very friendly and give tips for your trip.
Thank you for these three nights.
I loved my stay with Allyson! The room I stayed in was small, but perfect for someone traveling by themselves. The entire house was very neat and had a lot of cool decorations. Allyson herself was also incredibly nice, as was her cat Missy. The neighborhood is also nice and quiet. It is a bit far from the city center, but there is a bus stop right across from Allyson's place, so the distance is not an issue. Altogether great stay and I would definitely recommend staying with Allyson to anyone interested in visiting Dublin.
I came to Dublin to study, didn't know anyone or anyplace, Allyson was the first person I met and it was amazing. Not only she is very helpful and trustworthy, all the instructions on the house and about the city are written down for you, but her house, her home, is very organized, tidy and so charming. The house is about 30 min away from downtown, you can get the number 9 bus just across the street that lands you on O'Connel street (the one with the spire monument, the very heart of the city), it's very easy. Allyson gives you your privacy, but is always on the reach if you need something. For those people who are tired of impersonal hotels, staying at Allyson's is like being at home, abroad.
This was my first experience with Airbnb and Allyson made it a great one. I lost my phone the first day and she was very helpful helping me find it. Her place is lovely, as described and within easy walking distance of bus stops. It was great, I'd highly reccommend her place. Thanks Allyson!
For my first Air BnB experience, as well as my first solo trip abroad, staying with Allyson was a dream!! She is an amazing host! I got to Dublin in the morning, then mixed up where she lives (I know McKee Ave is the first one that pops up on (website hidden) maps, but it's McKee ROAD. So embarrassing lol!) but Allyson was really super helpful, and gave me information on the bus system and where to get change etc, gave me a map of her area and a map of Dublin - she couldn't have been nicer! I really appreciated all the maps and extra info and definitely used them throughout my stay. The room was lovely, and Allyson's cat is so adorable! I enjoyed cuddling with Missy :) Definitely would recommend Allyson to a friend! I had a great time and wish I could have stayed longer.
Really nice stay with Allyson who is very open to discussion, I really enjoyed it.
The nieghbourhood is very quiet and nice and the bus is easy and direct.
Everything was perfect for a first stay in Dublin, I strongely recommend!

I'm a teacher of English at a secondary school in Dublin. I love to travel, and recent destinations include Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Czech Republic, France, New York, Connecticut, San Francisco, Venice and Turkey! I hope to visit Morocco on my next 'big' trip. I'm a friendly, respectful, independent guest and I've been hosting for a year now on Air BnB, which has been a very positive experience due to all the lovely, interesting guests who've come to stay at my home. I love helping guests to get the most out of Dublin and have tons of info about the main sights and the less-known, off-the-beaten-track alternatives.
I love books, movies, eating out, cooking and (some) baking, spending time with family and friends.
