Small, single room in a clean, cosy, welcoming home. Quiet, residential area in north Dublin, 25 minutes from O'Connell St by bus 9 and 83. Close to Botanic Gardens and DCU. Please note: I HAVE A CAT. Female guests or couples only.
I have lived here for five years and I like my home to be as appealing, comfortable and welcoming as possible. I love hosting with Air BnB and I've hosted many international students from the local university and they always love staying here.
Shared bathroom, towels provided. Sorry, but I can't offer cooking facilities as my kitchen is tiny. However, you're free to make tea/coffee or sandwich/snack. I'll leave a light breakfast out for you in the morning (tea/coffee, cereal, toast).
I'm friendly and helpful and I can give you lots of tips about where to go for the best value and quality in Dublin/Ireland. I enjoy hosting people but I also realise that you'll probably be busy with your own plans or tired/jetlagged so I won't intrude! Sometimes I work from home; sometimes I go out a lot.
My neighbourhood is quiet and safe with nice parks and lots of greenery; only 10 minutes by bus from Botanic Gardens or Andersons Cafe. Very close to Glasnevin Cemetery Museum and the famous Gravediggers pub. The no.9 bus stops outside my house and takes you straight to Trinity College and the whole city centre. My last guests loved going to the local pubs but I always go into town to socialise around Grafton St and George's St.
COMING FROM THE AIRPORT: The taxi takes about 15 mins and costs about 20 Euro. OR you can get the 747 express bus to town (about 6 Euro) and then the 9 bus from O'Connell St to my house (2.65). No 9 takes you straight to centre and Trinity College from my house. Also on 83 route and quite close to 40 or 140. I go into 'town' (Grafton St etc) at least twice a week as it's easy to get to. I can offer one parking space in my drive. If you are here for a short stay you should get the Dublin City (website hidden) 3-day or 5-day pass which can also be used on the 747 express. Otherwise you need exact change on the buses.
I prefer female guests (travelling solo) or couples/friends.
The single room is very small and only suitable for short stays. Guests - please get verified on Air BnB and post a photo if you don't mind. I don't accept people who are not verified.
Stayed in the smaller room and had a wonderful time. Some highlights:
- welcome tea upon arrival
- ironed sheets and towels
- very clean floors
- great recommendations on things to do in Dublin
- breakfast every morning
Allyson represents the spirit of hospitality, for which I enjoy travelling with AirBnB. The house was warm and cozy. If you don't mind travelling by public transport bus no.9, while a bit of a ride, brings you directly from/to heart of Dublin to Allyson's doorsteps in one shot. Would recommend it to anyone, but especially those looking for fresh air and a glimpse of Dublin suburbian life!
If you're traveling and looking for a cute and quaint place to stay as well as an amazing host- stay with Allyson. I could not have imagined staying anywhere else! Upon arriving Allyson told me how to get around the city and took time out of her busy schedule to share some of the things past visitors liked doing. I have never felt more at home and I cannot thank her enough! The neighborhood was perfect and quiet with a bus stop right outside the door to take you into the city. I also had missed my flight home and was able to arrange staying an extra day. I will definitely be returning!
Allyson is a great source of recommendations for travel in the area, and as an avid traveler herself, she knows what a traveler wants & needs. She provided me with a wealth of information on things to see & do and places to eat. Her home and the guest room are attractive and comfortable, and I shouldn't fail to mention her very sweet, friendly cat! Great neighborhood, nice and quiet with convenient shops nearby and a bus stop right across the street from the house, from where you can catch a bus direct to the heart of Dublin. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Allyson's place. Perfect choice for single female travelers.
Allyson is great!
She made me feel absolutely comfortable at her place.
I was there to either work and leisure and she provided me with really good advice to visit Dublin.
I recommend her place.
Allyson is an excellent host. As soon as you walk into her house, she is willing to help you. Had a cup of tea in my hands within 5mins of arriving! Her house is warm and very safe for solo travelers. It's also has a very easy and safe location for the bus stop, takes no longer then 20mins by bus to get into the city. She let me stay longer then I had originally planned as well, and really helped me with what were the beat areas in Dublin. I would 100% recommend her.
I'm stayed to Allyson for two weeks, It's a very good experience, Allyson is really friendly. The home is very nice and comfortable. For to go to the city center there is at 100 m the bus stop and it isn't the unique bus in the area! The bus goes to the center every 15 min and you can arrive in 20/25min). It a very good position!! Next home there are a lot of markets and a very good library! I recommend this accomodation at all!!
Staying with Allyson has been a very positive experience: 100% recommended. The home location is perfect, just opposite is the bus stop that takes you downtown in no time. Allyson thank you very much for everything and especially for making me feel like I was in my own house!!
My experience staying with Allyson was truly unforgettable. She is so accommodating and helpful in providing any kind if information about Ireland. She helped me to navigate the Dublin bus system and even gave me recommendations for cool/off the beaten path sort of exhibitions and exhibits going on throughout the city. I HIGHLY recommend staying with this lovely woman! And if you are an animal person, as I am, her cat is simply darling.
Allyson is fantastic...I found her home while searching for a place for my 18 year old son to stay while he waited for the Trinity dorms to open. We are from America and it was a little anxiety provoking to leave my son alone in a foreign country knowing no one. But Allyson was so welcoming and intelligent that I instantly felt relieved to know he would be staying with such a kind and gracious individual. She made him feel right at home by offering cups of teas, fun conversation, and thoughtful directions for navigating the city. Her home is lovely and she is very easy going about the space so you feel very at ease. I recommend Allyson's home without qualification for students or anyone looking for a warm space in Dublin. She is just the best...
