We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this oceanside condo. There was a sense of privacy to make the balcony inviting and the view of the ocean and sounds a pleasant backdrop to our stay. The location is spectacular, making morning walks on the beach the perfect start to our day. The picnic tables across from the building created great green space for outdoor grilling and watching surfers and sunsets. The apt. is very clean with an array of amenities that include beach towels and surf board. The inside covered parking space was very helpful. Instructions for using the accommodations and Ethan's accessibility when needed were helpful and appreciated.
The condo lived up to our expectations. It was clean and quiet. Decor was modern although a bit sparse. Nice view from the balcony. NIce and close to the beach. Lots of surfers (of every age and shape) every day. Lots of walks on the beach, even late at night. Felt perfectly safe. We rented a car so we could drive up the coast and visit neighboring towns, and of course...shop. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider renting again.....maybe for a longer stay (5 nights this time).
This is a very nice apartment just steps from the Tourmaline Surf Park. The place is very clean and was perfect for a weekend get away in San Diego. Parking on the street was easy and convenient.
My girlfriend and I made it a point to walk down to the beach (just a few minutes) to watch every sunset. Really nice to be able to walk right out and down to the beach with no streets to cross or anything in your way. Thanks Ethan!
What was not to like! Ethan's condo provided everything we needed for a few days rest. It was a stone throw away from the beach. The kitchen which was important to us and had everything we needed. Although we did not meet Ethan, he communicated with us and kept in touch during our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here!!!
We loved Ethan's place. Great location, clean and convenient. Ethan was very accommodating. We'll be back for sure. You're a quick drive to La Jolla village (Georges at the Cove, Karl Strauss Brewing) and a 10 min walk on the beach to the Pacific Beach pubs (Pacific Beach Ale House) and restaurants.
Great condo, but I'd call it an apartment. It had everything we needed. The building could use some major insulation. The neighbors showers had us up at 6:30 every morning. The only other thing that was a negative, was that for the multiple day stay we had no cable access to watch the TV.
Just a block to the beach, which was great for sunset walking.
Thank you Steven. I enjoyed having you as a guest. I have submitted a request to the cable company to add 300 more channels to the TV. Several of the guests have brought this up so now we will have 3,000 on-demand movies available through NetFlix, 300 cable channels, and 900,000 songs available on Pandora radio.
Also, as a continuation to my response to the guest Eric H from below, the unit is most certainly NOT a semi-empty crash pad as Eric rather unfairly suggested. I have since brought in a designer to help create a less cluttered look. Obviously Eric prefers a busier, more cluttered look, however for most guests this would be considered an eyesore -- it is better to declutter a living space to give a sense of openness. I welcome any further feedback that anyone has, but let's keep it a bit more constructive and realistic given the price point I am offering to be situated directly on arguably the best beach in Southern California. I use a professional cleaning staff from a 5-star hotel; the same hotel would charge 3-5 times more than what I am charging.
The location is really great, however the photo of the beach is NOT the view from the apartment. You can see the water from the balcony down the street. It's a 2 minute walk to the water. The apartment has ample space, and basic needs and is fine. The building is a bit sad. Kind of dirty with a lot of 1970's looking tan paint. The apartment is pretty empty. Very little on the walls. It looks like a semi-empty crash pad. However there are modern basics like wifi, dishwasher, big TV etc. that made it nice.
Fair enough. I have changed the picture to the actual view from the balcony. The minimalist wall hangings are due to a redecoration that is in process. The building is not brand new, however, my experience as compared to other buildings in the area is that the building overall has been clean, and also pest-free. Conversely, many of the old and new buildings in California have significant pest problems and this one does not. I am sorry to hear that your stay was not more favorable. Hopefully you can return to a better visit next time.
I stayed total of 12 days in 2 weeks and I enjoyed staying.
Location: Almost on the beach, quiet area and still not far from actions. Condo has ocean view, very clean, spacious and comfortable.
Ethan, great host, easy to communicate and to work with him.
Definitely I will stay again.
