Frankfurt Eastend - Best connection in town
The apartment with the room that we share is on the 3rd floor of a traditional-style building in a small, quiet pedestrian zone (it’s an older building without a lift).
The southerly facing room with a view to the courtyard is about 16m² in size. The double bed (140 x 200 cm) provides space for 2 adults. The modernly formed room has a desk with TV, internet access via WIFI and of course a small dresser with a clothing stand.
The bathroom (Shared use)
There is a bathtub with shower, as well as a washing machine and a clothing stand which you may use.
The kitchen (Shared use)
The kitchen is equipped with all the utensils and equipment that a hobby chef needs. Different dishes from all over the world, as well as new and different tastes are always a treat for us and very welcome.
Interaction with Guests
We are a young, international family with a little boy on board and we are looking forward to meeting you. We speak German, Spanish, English and all other languages with the help of as many hand and foot gestures as needed. If you’re interested in a city tour in Frankfurt, we would love to show you around (if our schedule allows it) and show you around the city, through the eyes of a local.
Frankfurt Eastend is so centrally situated, that one can practically call it the city centre. Frankfurter Hauptbahnhof (main station) is just about 10 minutes with the S-Bahn (local train) away. Even the airport can be easily reached 20 minutes, without having to change the train.
The S-Bahn leaves every 5 minutes to Frankfurt Messe (fair). The direct journey takes a litte more than 10 minutes. The S-Bahn station Ostendstrasse is practically on the doorstep, but don’t worry, the S-Bahn travels solely underground within the city and you won’t even notice it’s there!
Allmost all sights are within walking distance from the appartment.
Direct train connection (S-Bahn):
City center: 4 min (about every 2 min)
Fair: 12 min (about every 5 min)
Airport: 20 min (about every 15 min)
Central train station: 8 min (about every 2 min)
River Main: 2 min (walking)
Other Things to Note
Shopping and going out
To arrive at the Frankfurt pedestrian zone and shopping street, one can either ride 1 stop with the S-Bahn or take a comfortable 15 minute walk. Even the Frankfurt Römer (definitely one of the top attractions in Frankfurt) is just a 20 minute walk away. Alternatively, the Ebbelwei-Express, which goes passed the main attractions, stops nearby.
A visit to the Frankfurt Zoo or a relaxing stroll along the Main river is also less than 5 minutes away. For a night out, head to Hauptwache in less than 5 minutes and go to Fressgass. For those wanting to wander around or go for a drink, go along Frankfurt Anlagenring to Berger Strasse.
For a more touristy feel, head directly to Alt-Sachsenhausen. Either in 4 minutes with the tram or a 15 minute walk away. If you miss the last train at night because you stayed too long you can always walk back to our place.
Our place is in a house with a few neighbors. We really like to get along with them and want to keep it that way. So we kindly ask you to respect this, try to be quiet outside of the appartment and of course do not make noises late at night that might disturb anyone.
Her accommodation is perfect for me at all aspects such as transportations and convenient facilities, etc.
Especially, host's kindness is outstanding.
The host instructed me as many things as possible to enjoy the tour at Frankfurt.
Next time, I'll select the same place definitely.
The hosts were amazing! Very helpful and friendly. They have a 3 year old by who is extremely well-mannered and smiley.
The location was good and easy to get to.
The room and all facilities were clean and very well-organized.
Great wifi connection.
Extremely spacious for a solo traveler.
Gerne wieder ...
Jey was an excellent host. In addition to being extremely helpful, he was actually quite funny as well. He supplied me with a map and a number of notes about the area that were very helpful. He pointed out areas that locals frequented and assisted with suggestions that gave me a very good sense of direction for my exploration of the city.
Our stay at Frankfurt was definitely a very pleasant one! Many thanks to Jey and family for the warm welcome into your lovely and cosy home! The room and bed were huge and very comfortable. Thank you for patiently explaining to us how to get around once we arrived as well. Only thing was that the wifi of the house was down during our stay so it was a little inconvenient for us as it seemed quite hard to find free wifi in Frankfurt. Nonetheless, thanks to Jey for offering to let us use his personal phone hotspot sometimes! We enjoyed ourselves and loved the deco of the house a lot!
This was the worst airbnb I have stayed in to date. We arranged with Jey to get there at 2am and after spending an hour trying to get ahold of her we ended up having to walk the streets of Frankfurt looking for a hotel for the night. We finally heard from her at around 8am and scheduled to be at your apartment again between 1pm and 1:30pm again we sat outside waiting for her for almost 30 more minutes. When we finally did get to check into the apartment the internet did not work and Jey said there was nothing she could do about it and even though they had a personal wifi account as well she claimed not to know the password for that one. I ended up having to file a complaint with airbnb because of how disasterous this host was. I would definitely not recommend her.
I understand that Heidi was not 100% satisfied. I would not have been happy either. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I want to point out that I contacted airbnb immediately to refund the night. And I don't quite understand the reason for waiting outside without ringing the doorbell - which would be a normal thing to do when visiting somebody. I would imagine that it is a little too much to expect from a host to surveil the street waiting for guests.
Thanks for your open feedback Heidi, and good travels!
