Amazing loft for 2 or 3 people in the very historical centre of Barcelona 300 meters from Plaça Catalunya (the "Times Square" of Barcelona, next to the Airport Shuttle Bus stop!) next to Via Laietana (the street which leads you straight to the Beach), the Gotic Area, The Cathedral, Palau de la Música, Las Ramblas adnd all the atractions in the historical center.
The best place to have a perfect experience in Barcelona!
The apartment is located in a historical building totally renewed, but keeping the atmosphere and style of the Gotic period.
It has a double bed, a sofa-bed balcony, full equped kitchen and bathroom. All furnitures are new. Sofa, tv, fridge, oven, washing machine, towels, linen. Everything you need for a perfect and comfortable stay. IMPECCABLE CLEANNIG. INTERNET WIFI. The apartment is located on a first floor so there are very few steps to climb!
3 minutes walking to Plaça Catalunya the "Times Square" of Barcelona. Next to the Airport Shuttle Bus. Close to all main attractions in the historical centre like the Cathedreal, Palau de la Música, the Gotic Area, Santa Maria del Mar Church, Picasso Museum, Columbus monument, etc. Near to the Port Vell and to the Maremagnum Shopping center.
Very lively area with lots of restaurants, theaters, cinemas, bars and pubs. Walking distance TO THE BEACH and to the Barceloneta area.
Just 2 minutes to the metro Plaça Catalunya (L3) and next to the Airport Bus station!.
For families or groups of friends travelling together we eventually accept more than 2 people. There is a sofa-bed accommodating 1 person more.
The apartment is not suitable for any kind of party. Groups of friends looking for party and fiesta please look for another place. It's not allowed to make noise or listen loud music in the apartment. I want to keep a good relationship with my neighboors... Thanks!
I'll be happy to give you advice on what are the best things to do and places to go in Barcelona.
Other Things to Note
About the reviews saying that the pressure water is low I want to put it clear something: THE PRESSURE WATER IS PERFECTLY FINE TO GET A SHOWER. It's not very strong, so don't expect a lot of pressure to get relaxed under the water like a jacuzzi... But I repeat, It's perfectly fine to get showered!
NO SMOKING. NO PARTIES. NO NOISE. VISITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED. PLEASE RESPECT THE QUITENESS OF OUR PLACE. THANKS.
Very good apartment in very good position!!! The apartment is confortable, clean and well equipped.
We stayed very well for a week and Carles was always available....
We were welcomed by David at the time we arranged to meet at the apartment. Fantastic location - could walk to almost everything we wanted - and David provided a nice introduction. The spacious room included firm bed, kitchen and dining area, desk and sofas with a bathroom off the entryway. It was attractive and comfortable and we enjoyed being there. Twice we needed to be in touch with Carles and David so we emailed, they responded immediately and addressed our concerns - one was even on Christmas eve and Carles came by to get our internet connected.
This is a great large unit that welcomed my family from the US. Location is GREAT putting you in the middle of everything and only 5 min. walk from the main centre. Would highly recommend.
David (colleague) offered great restaurant and site seeing recommendations and was very accommodating to us.
We enjoyed our stay at carles' loft very much. The place was exactly as described. It was in a central location, quiet, clean and well maintained. We loved the design. We'd definitely stay there again if we get to Barcelona.
The comfort and location of Carles' loft was a big factor in one of our best-ever trips. Everything we were interested in seeing or doing was within walking distance(most) or a short metro ride(some). The space was clean and had everything we need. As a bonus, it was extremely cool to be staying in a place built in the Middle Ages!
Carles was extremely responsive and prompt in our communications and checkin, and we couldn't have felt more welcome. Some may find small things to complain about, but given the price, location, and amenities, I don't think you'll find a better deal.
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The loft was cozy and we were very happy to return there after our long days out. We would love to stay there next time as well and we would recommend it to anyone, any time! Very lovely place!
Stay: 3 nights (Wed-Sat).
Location: Very central, you can even walk to the beach:) In one of the narrow alleys, so you can directly look into the rooms of your neighbours. No direct light, but the peach walls and cozy lights in the apartment make up for it. Check the weather report before you go out!
Check-in: 2pm, keep that in mind if you arrive earlier.
Keys: The cleaning lady Juliana gave us the keys but left immediately afterwards, so we could not ask anything about the city, which was a pity, as we were in Barcelona for the first time. You can leave the keys on the table when you terminate your stay.
Apartment: We absolutely loved it! Very clean, only the podium next to the wardrobe had dust clogs on it. The bathroom had toiletry we did not use but could come in handy, and the water was more than fine for daily showers. For 3 nights/3,5days we were given each a shower towel and hand towel, as well as 1 roll of toilet paper. The wardrobe was clean.
(The washing machine did not work and a chair was broken when we arrived, though.)
Garbage: We were asked to put out our own garbage, as the city service is collecting it directly from the streets between 8-10pm. As we were never at home by that time, we had to take the garbage out on our check-out morning (around 7am) and find a public garbage can.
The kitchen: we did not cook, but we used the plates for breakfast after grocery shopping at the nearby market-hall. You have all the pans and pots in the oven, if you want to use the new kitchen :) We did not use the mocca pot, as there was a bit old water in it.
Internet: Worked fairly, you have to see where you have best W-lan, in our case it was in the middle of the apartment, near the couch.
Incident: On the first night, the electricity went completely out in the builing. David was understandingly annoyed when we called him at 11:30pm telling us he was not in town, and told us "it will come back in a few hours". Without having candles or a flashlight it was quiet inconvenient, but the electricity did come back at some point. Carles was very caringly inquiring the next day via SMS.
Advice: For those who are working 24/7, try to charge your phones and laptops or bring an extra battery with you - we could not work that night.
Goodies: Carles had prepared city maps and booklets about Barcelona, which was very convenient, so we could explore the city on our own.
Starbucks around the corner was convenient as well.
