Beautiful 3bed Victorian House

House - Entire home/apt · Bridge Street, Oxford, OX2 0BB, United Kingdom

This historic house is situated on Osney Island, a tranquil location 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes from town. It has 3 double bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, lounge & dinning room. There is a great pub close to the house too.

The Space

This beautiful home is available from time to time during the year. The cream double bedroom is available throughout the year for airbnb guests.

The property is over 3 floors. The attic master bedroom has a compact ensuite shower room. On the first floor there is one big double, a third bedroom with a futon sofa double bed and the master bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is also small courtyard garden.

The house is in a very quiet street on Osney Island, a conservation area of Oxford. My house was built in 1893 and retains much of the period charm mixed with modern day living. There is a great pub just minutes from the house that serves lunch and dinner daily along with great ales.

It is just 5 minutes walk from the train station and Said Business School and 10 minutes to the centre of town, coach station and many of the colleges. You can get to London in just one hour on the train so Oxford offers the best of both worlds without having to stay in the bustle of London. Bath and Stratford are also just 90 minutes by train.

The house has fast broadband internet and cable TV. There are also two adult bikes available on request.

  • The House was very cosy and comfortable, the equipment in the kitchen was perfect. Karen had left milk and other things to eat for us. The house is very near to the station and to the city center you walk 15 minutes.

  • The house is perfect for students such as myself who attend the business school. The home is incredibly clean and welcoming. Karen goes out of her way to make things right. It definitely feels like home away from home. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need make yourself at home. It is only a 15 minute walk from the business school and in a very quite area.

I would highly recommend anyone looking for temporary accommodations in Oxford to use this as your first option.

  • We stayed at Karen's house with 3 adults and 2 children over the New Year and found the house ideally situated and the house/host very welcoming. There were a number of possible changes that we had to make to our booking and Karen was very flexible and helpful. The house was lovely and clean with plenty of fresh towels and coffee and tea available for when we arrived, our host had also left detailed information so we could work all of the electrical/heating appliances. Karen had also left us a printout with recommendations of places to visit and eat in Oxford. I would definitely recommend Karen's house to anyone wanting to visit Oxford especially families and we all felt very at home in the house. Thank you Karen for our enjoyable stay.

  • Had a great break away at Karen's house. Stayed over the Christmas period and was a fantastic place to have Christmas dinner all together. The pub around the corner, the punter, is really nice too. Very easy to walk into town, either along the river or through the city. Had a great time in Oxford, very relaxing!!

  • Karen gave us a lovely welcome and the weekend worked really well for us as an extended family of 6 (grandparents, parents, a toddler and baby). Karen warned us about the steep stairs which could be a hazard to less careful little ones or less agile older ones. We loved the well equipped kitchen, good bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds. The close proximity to the city centre meant that the parents could walk to their friends' wedding at the Ashmolean, my niece at Wadham could easily join us for lunch at the local pub and we could explore Oxford from our base. Karen provided a cot for the baby, showed us where the nearest playpark was and organised parking permits. A great multi-purpose stay in a cleverly renovated house.

  • We had a really nice staying by Karen's house, it was quite, comfortable, very well designed and very close to the city centre.
Even if we hadn't the opportunity to meet her, she prepared everything to let us enjoy Oxford at its best.

  • I stayed in Karens house with 5 friends and we had a great time. The house is really well located for town, in a pretty, quiet street. The house is very warm and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen has everything you would need and my only criticism was that the dishwasher was full when we arrived- think that was just a mistake by Karen.

I would fully recommend staying at Karens house and its a great place to stay if you want to explore a beautiful town.
