This historic house is situated on Osney Island, a tranquil location 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes from town. It has 2 doubles & 1 twin/king, 2.5 bathrooms, lounge & dinning room. There is a great pub close to the house too.
The property is over 3 floors. The attic master bedroom has a compact ensuite shower room. On the first floor there is one big double and a third bedroom with twin beds that can also be made into a king. There is also the master bathroom with bath and shower. The lounge has cable TV and fast WiFi. The kitchen is very well equipped with a living larder of essentials and milk and bread is always provided to get you started. There is also a downstairs toilet. The house has a small courtyard garden. There are also two adult bikes available on request.
The house is in a very quiet street on Osney Island, a conservation area of Oxford. My house was built in 1893 and retains much of the period charm mixed with modern day living. There is a great pub just minutes from the house that serves lunch and dinner daily along with great ales.
It is just 5 minutes walk from the train station and Said Business School and 10 minutes to the centre of town, coach station and many of the colleges. You can get to London in just one hour on the train so Oxford offers the best of both worlds without having to stay in the bustle of London. Bath and Stratford are also just 90 minutes by train.
Special prices may be available for stays of 3 weeks. Please contact me for more information.

The whole house and a small garden.
Interaction with Guests
I try to be there for when you check in but this is not always possible due to work commitments. If I cant be there I will leave a key in the lockbox. I am always available on email or phone if you have queries and I am happy to provide information before you arrive to make your trip even more worthwhile.
The neighborhood is very quite on a beautiful island yet it is only 10 minutes walk to town. The island has its own newsletter and the people are very friendly. The pub is less than 2 minutes walk serving good beer and food.
No one drives in Oxford as the traffic is not fun. You can easily walk about but there is also a good bus network. The train network can get you to most destinations including London, Bath, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Manchester etc
I also have two adults bikes available for rent.
There is no parking on the island other than for residents or for up to 2 hours. There is though cheap parking (£2 a day) less than 1 mile from the house and there is a bus to bring you back down the road if you dont fancy the walk.
The house is strictly no smoking and no pets unless by agreement.
Enjoyed our weekend stay at Karen's. Clean, comfortable, all to spec. Very accommodating.
Karen was very welcoming and helpful prior to and after our booking. She answered questions and always responded promptly. The neighborhood was cool, offering a great organic deli/shop and beautiful river views. The kitchen was lovely, and provided us the ability to cook meals at home throughout the week.
We had a great weekend at Karen's! The house was spotless and comfortable, with crisp linen and towels provided. Lots of basic foodstuffs and other goodies in the kitchen made life easy and the heating was a doddle. Karen left plenty of info about the house and Oxford and kept in regular contact by email and text. All good.
A lovely warm and welcoming home. The walking distance from both the station and the town centre was great. Rooms were nice, and all the amenities you need for a stay. Karen is kind and helpful, making sure our stay was the best it could be.
We were given a very good welcome and clear instructions on how to use everything. We were delighted with the house which was clean, fresh and had everything in it that we wanted. We also completely fell in love with the area which is close to Oxford but quiet and has a real community feel. Karen had provided bicycles and was extremely helpful about events and facilities in Oxford. I highly recommend this place.
Lovely stay. Everything we needed for a short stay in Oxford. Accurate description of house. Walking distance to town, lovely pub around the corner which is very family friendly. Short walk along the canal to town. Would love to return
Did not meet Karen face-to-face but in emails and phone messages/conversations she gave us all the help we needed. House is as described and very well equipped for all our needs. Neighbourhood surprisingly quiet given its location, helped by the house being near the end of a cul-de-sac, so an excellent location.
