The Eden Project, which is only a couple of miles away, can be reached by car, bicycle or on foot - There is access on to the trails which lead to Eden and the south coast at Pentewan and Mevagissey, through the grounds of The Mill House.
The Apartment is part of the original corn mill, - now The Mill House - and over 200 years old, in a valley setting yet only 2 miles from the mainline railway station and shops and about two miles from the coast.
The Apartment has its own entrance and parking area offering complete privacy.
PETS WELCOME - a small charge will be made.

It is in a perfect position from which to explore the surrounding area, the south and north coasts, and the many interesting houses and gardens of the County. The world renowned Eden Project is close by, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House are both within a short drive. Visit the Maritime Museum at Falmouth, see Lands End or even better Cape Cornwall, or take the train to St. Ives for the day and see the Tate Gallery, St. Ives and the wonderful beaches there - enjoy the many other spectacular beaches - watch the winter storms, or walk the beaches and coastal footpaths - Spring is the perfect time for visiting the County - Cornish Gardens open to the public are at their best with magnolias, camellias, azaleas and many other spring flowering shrubs and trees in glorious splendour - or bring your dog and enjoy the deserted beaches - plenty of space!
Visit the EDEN PROJECT or HELIGAN GARDENS or LANHYDROCK GARDENS - so many places to visit and so much to do - you will be spoilt for choice!!
The Apartment is warm and cosy and is ideal for a couple or small family. There is a sitting room and kitchen/dining area plus two bedrooms, one with a king size (5') double and one with a single bed (a further bed can be added if four people are staying. The Kitchen area has a small oven with two hobs plus a microwave. There is a toaster, kettle and crockery and cutlery plus mugs and glasses. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over. There is parking for one car and the Apartment is approached by a few shallow steps and over a bridge and is then all on one level. Because the Apartment is approached by a bridge it is not ideal for small children unless they are closely supervised.

Please note: There are no laundry facilities available at this property.

The Apartment has its own parking area, but no garden however guests are welcome to use our grounds which give access onto the miles of surrounding trails. You might spot a deer or two, or perhaps a fox and certainly plenty of wild birds and last summer a family of otters were spotted by the river.

We are happy to offer suggestions on places to visit, places to eat - bike hire, train and bus times. Otherwise you probably will only see us when you arrive!

Guest Access

The Apartment is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay. There is access on to the miles of surrounding trails (leading to the Eden Project and to the south coast at Pentewan or St. Austell town centre) through the grounds of The Mill House but The Apartment does not have its own garden area. There is an adjacent parking area for one car.

Interaction with Guests

We are happy to assist with ideas for exploring the County, places to eat, directions to the nearest shops, where to buy fuel and, of course, to help with any problems which might arise. Otherwise you may not see us for the duration of your stay!

  • The Apartment was lovely and well equipped within an easy drive of all the places we wanted to visit .

  • Such a lovely apartment in a great part of Cornwall, I found it was much bigger than the photo's made it look and the place was spotless.
Upon arrival we was greeted by a bottle of bubbly (as it was a birthday trip) and a lovely welcoming card, absolutely loved the little kitchen with everything you need to make a pukka meal.

We will definitely come back to the Mill house on our next visit!
My only worry is if someone else has beat us to it!
Great hosts and a great place.

  • Good clean accommodation. Pretty much everything that could be needed was there. Ideal location for the Eden Project either by car or walking. Excellent communication from the owner.

  • We had a great time (granny, mum and son) staying in Joanna's mill apartment. it had everything we needed and was a cosy retreat after the blustery days out (february visit). Joanna was VERY helpful and made the whole process easy for newbie airbnbers. Loved the little jug of welcome milk and the flowers in the rooms. Ideal location for Eden visits and more exploring we hope, next time we visit!

  • Lovely little cottage in a great location to explore Cornwall. It was perfect for our family of 3 and had everything we needed.

  • Had a wonderful time at Joanne's Mill House. There was everything there that we could have wished for. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment cosy and warm. We received a courtesy visit from our hosts who were available if we needed them but otherwise were left to our own devises. Could not has wished for a better place and will certainly return should we find ourselves in Cornwall again.
    Thank you Joanne.

  • We had a great weekend at Joanna's place. We didn't actually see Joanna, but Chris welcomed us and pointed out good places to visit even tough it was pretty late. Definitely recommend Joanna as a host, as all the questions we had got a quick response and the place was all we hoped for. Thanks again :)

  • As an Air BnB virgin I can honestly say Joanna was a total star answering my questions promptly and helpfully which made all the difference to me in deciding where to stay - I wish others were as helpful.

The Apartment at the Mill is quaint, quiet and quirky and it was perfect for me - being woke up by the birds was just beautiful.

The bed was comfy and there was plenty of hot water, I was working very long hours so I didn't have time to cook or make use of the kitchen much but it seemed like there was everything you would need.

I think the photos are very accurate which helps you decide if this is the property for you. Its about 10mins by car to the Eden project and in a great spot to use as a base to sight see anywhere in Cornwall if you are driving.

    Id recommend it for sure

About
I live in Cornwall with my husband, Chris, and an assortment of much loved pets - two mad dogs, JCJ and Millie, Big Grey Cat or BG, various ducks, chickens, some sheep and an assortment of equines, mostly quite aged. We really enjoy hosting through Airbnb and want our guests to enjoy and love Cornwall as much as we do, being born and bred here. Our favourite place is St. Just in West Cornwall but due to business commitments we actually live for most of the time just outside St. Austell in Mid Cornwall. We are always happy to help with any problems, give advice, suggest beaches to visit, where to buy fresh Cornish produce (and the best Cornish pasties!) and, hopefully, ensure that you have a wonderful holiday or break in Cornwall.
