  • This place rocks! Private, clean, and comfortable... what more could a traveler want? We found an awesome bar just around the corner with great burgers and an outdoor patio with a fire pit and live music. The bus is literally steps away with service to downtown Portland.

Anjali was very quick to respond on a same night reservation and she was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire trip. This place was a total gem!

  • Great apartment. Very clean. Super location. Nicely tucked into a quiet garden setting. Anjali was extremely helpful in trying to accommodate on a reservation made the same day. A small amount of noise made by central heating belonging to the upstairs unit but it was fine. She really has made an attempt to make the space as comfortable as possible. Recommended.

Thanks Rick! With multiple years of hosting, we have dialed in what guests need most, a place of clean comfort to make the most of their stay in this great location! Central heating also heats this dwelling with heating vents in the ceiling to keep all toasty warm in the our NW Winters! And to all viewers, looking forward to your stay here!

  • I have lived in Portland for 20 years. We stayed here while our house was being sold and it was great. We stayed with three adults, a child and our dog and had a great time. It was a vacation while staying in the city I love. We got to live in N Portland and be one block off of Mississippi which was wonderful, allowing us to easily experience so many restaurants, shops and pubs that we have wanted to for years. Easy walk to Overlook park provided a great place to take the dog to run. You wouldn't need a car to see and experience Portland staying here. It is a great location in N Portland.

  • The apartment was welcoming, clean and equiped with everything we needed.

Anjali was very helpful and responsive and set things up beforehand to accomodate our family needs. Check-in and check out were hassle-free.

Location is great with very enjoyable restaurants, shops and music within very easy walking distance.

  • Anjali's home is wonderful :) My friends and I stayed for close to a week at her home, it was lovely. It really felt like home. The house is in a great location! In a nice, funky, mellow neighborhood with great food and shops and bars and even live music. (wolf n bear is amazing:)
The house is tucked away in a quiet area so you hear no noise just the breeze and the birds from the open air windows. The garden is lovely and we spent a lot of time relaxing out there and got to know Anjali a bit, wonderful woman :) Thank you once again for a lovely stay in your home.

  • I highly recommend Mississippi Fun District Garden if you are looking for a relaxing weekend in a great neighbourhood. Definitely the best area and close to all shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Access to other parts of town were also easy. We were three friends staying at Anjali's place and the space was perfect for our easy breezy weekend. The garden is amazing! Anjali is a gracious host, very friendly and easy going. Can't wait to be back!

  • What a lovely place! It was such a pleasure meeting Anjali and staying at her beautiful home. I loved the garden. She gave us cucumbers, kale, and beets. Delicious. We ate breakfast every morning in the area (walking distance) and enjoyed some of the fun shops nearby. A cab ride to downtown is only $15.

  • This place has an awesome location and the fit may be perfect for the right kind of guest. Our host was super nice, but it also felt a bit too close to staying in her space, so we were a bit worried about the kids lossing something under the bed and ending up in the middle of her things. I think this place would work best for a couple w/o kids or a family who was less worried about messing with the owners stuff.

I would also say that the house is not well equipped to deal with the heat we had - no AC, the windows in the bedroom did not open, and the cool iron screen door in front could not be locked, so it was difficult to circulate enough air in the house at night to keep it cool enough to sleep. In truth, the chance of another guest getting that kind of head is pretty low in portland. Overall, the place is cozy, everything worked well, and it has a great spot, close to all sorts of great stuff.

Overall, not a bad first AirBnB for us.

    Response from Anjali:

Josh's review is for "Mississippi Fun District Home". Yes, we have had quite a heat wave here in Portland. Thanks for heads up, Josh! With a little help of graphite, the bedroom window is now easy to open as are all other windows. This results in cooling cross breeze. I'm glad that overall you enjoyed your stay!

  • We had a great experience. The place was very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is amazing with lots of good food and bars. Anjali, the host, went out of her way to make sure we were having a good time.

About
I have such a great time hosting people from all over the world. It's like traveling while staying at home! What's important to me as a host is that people get the most out of their stay here. Having lived here quite awhile, I am a font of info in a wide array of interests. I love it when people feel at-home, playful and relaxed. And to see it in action, what more could a host want? For example, a guest wrote in chalk on the sidewalk in front of the house a little road map to my house and pointed to house "Paradise" How fun is that? (email hidden),I am an artist, performer, RN-PhD, investor, entrepreneur, published author, host. mother, and GRAND mother. I love life and love creative expression. Currently, my focus is upon multi-month leases, though short term stays are also graciously invited! My property, "Mississippi Fun District", is great place to be in Portland with eats, treats and beats right around the corner. Home is secluded, yet in the middle of it all. Easy to zip around town via walk, bike, bus, light-rail, car. My rentals are in a duplex, therefore in same building. Same address. When I am not traveling, I spend much of my time in the sunroom attached to the back end of the house and in the art studio at the back end of the property. My raised beds grow food year around. I am part of collective that share crops. 50% of produce is shared with volunteers and a local Soup Kitchen. You may meet volunteer gardeners and pick up some gardening tips for your own garden! I look forward to your stay here for your future travel plans to Portland! Enjoy! Anjali.LeBoeuf
