About this listing
Situated in the stunning historic quarter of Cuitadella this sunny apartment has everything that you need and more. Wake up to the view of the 19th Century flour windmill ´Moli des Compte’ and literally smell the coffee from the terraced cafes below.
The flat is located in the historic quarter of Ciutadella, just a stone's throw from the heart of the city and only a short walk from the local beach: "La Platja Gran"
It's a fully furnished, small comfortable flat with no frills: two bedrooms, one large, one small. There is also a sofabed in the sitting room (dining room/salon) , so there is sleeping space for up to five people in all. Apart from this there is a kitchen, and a bathroom.
From the flat you can get to anywhere in the town within minutes, It's opposite the windmill(Es Molí d'es Comte) a historic landmark in the town. In the restaurant below "Es Molí d'es Comte" they do good food and in the lovely square, adjoining the building, there is another good restaurant and bar to have tapas. Nearby there is also a delicatessen called "El Paladar" where you can buy traditional Minorcan products like "Sobrassada" and cheese from Mahòn among other delicacies and then of course there a number of supermarkets and local shops closeby.
If you don't have a car, scooter or motorbike; regular buses run from Ciutadella to the main beaches like "Cala Galdana", "Cala Morell", "Cala Blanca" and "Cap d'Artrux" among others. However, if you want to be more adventurous and get some exercise into the bargain, I would recommend you hire a bike from one of the local stores and head off to "Cala d'en Turqueta" and "Son Saura" which are two of my all-time favourite beaches.
Have a nice stay!
The whole flat, there is no partial renting space
Interaction with Guests
I will be available on What's App and by mail and my friend who takecare of the flat and organizes the cleaning.
The flat is located right next to the old centre of town, it has many small shops, bars, restaurants and places of interest close at hand. If you want to buy in bulk or more cheaply, try the supermarkets: Lidl, Mercadona, Eroski and Día located in the "poligono industrial" just 10 minutes north of the town centre by car (and the same more or less by bike).
There are local buses that take you to all the main touristy beaches near the town. The more interesting ones like Cala n' Turqueta, Es Talaier,Son Saura, Macarella, Algairens and Cala Morell all need a car or a bike to get there. By car these beaches are from 15 and approximately half an hour, depending on the traffic. By bike, they vary, but give yourself at least half an hour to get there.
First let me say, I hope you have a lovely time staying in my flat however I would like to take the opportunity here to make a few important points about staying there. I would be grateful if you could read it ALL before considering making a reservation.
My apartment is in big demand during the high season and people leave one morning and others fill it again the same day (check-in time, if there are guests leaving the same morning, is at 6pm unless otherwise stated or you have contacted me previously to arrange where to leave your luggage).
As there is a constant flux of people in and out of the flat, I would appreciate it if you could leave it as clean as possible, i.e throwing away any big amounts of rubbish before checking-out and leaving things as neat and tidy found them on entering.
Please treat the house as if it were your own and look after it by not putting dirty feet or shoes on the chairs or sofa covers...I mention this because Ihad this problem last year and I don't have time to clean everything throughly (like covers etc.) until the summer season is actually over. The same goes for the sheets, if you have any condition which might occasion staining them or because you're feeling romantic and in the mood(!), please take the adecuate precautions and clean up afterwards..thanks!
Above all please consider that you are not the only guests and others will come after you and they would like to find it as nice and comfortable as you did on entering.
If you do accidentally break something, please be honest and inform me, there is a deposit of 150€ that is assigned to me at Airbnb for any damages occasioned and I need to check everything immediately after you've gone to see that everything is in good order.
All this may sound a bit fastidious but after the small mishaps I've had with previous guests, I have decided that it is important you know this in advance.
As you can probably imagine, this is also my own personal living space when I go to the island, so please treat it with care..thank you!
Oh yeah, and one last thing but it is very important, I don't permit people smoking in the house, mainly because of the fire risk, one of the small table already has signs of cigarette burns. But also because cigarette smoke and ash gets everywhere and leaves a stale, unpleasant smell in the air and on the furniture covers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this before booking considering booking your stay at mine.
Have a great stay and thank you very much for your cooperation in these matters.
Gracias!!!
The house is perfectely located, a fes steps from the main street, a square with a bar restaurant with terrace, and parkings, just at the end of the road from Mahon. It's completely equipped, we bought fresh fish at the fish market and cooked at home. Air conditioned can help during nights with extreme heat and it works perfectely. There is a washing machine available as well and beds are very comfortable. We really found everything perfect and suggest to go to Nicko's place for a perfect holiday.
We dealt with a friend of Nicko's but he did keep regular contact via text/WhatsApp and made sure we were OK. The flat is in an amazing location and we loved the view out onto the street lined with trees and the proximity of the bar below! Everything was neat and tidy and we appreciated the air conditioning too! Kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was very comfy. Thanks!
This was our first Airbnb experience. I liked the way how easy it was to communicate with Nicko, always a quick reply.
The apartment is big enough, had a lot of towels. The kitchen is very, very well equipped, making it a joy to cook.
Although Nicko wasn't there himself, he made sure someone was there to let us in.
The appartment is spacious was strategically located at the edge of the historical center and less than 10 mins walk from both bus stations to reach all the beaches and other towns on the island. The appartment has everything you need (equipped kitchen, washing machine, AC...), a part from a wifi connection.
