Other Things to Note
As at the villa there is no washing machine available , our housekeeping lady is happy to assist with this service by bringing your clothes at the laudry (for a small local fee that will be shown on the exact receipt that the laudry is charging) .
Our House keeping lady comes daily for almost 2 hours , except Sundays .
Eventhough smoking is not allowed inside the villa , we have no problem at all if you want to smoke at the open areas. If you are sitting close by the entrance door please be carefull with the thatched roof , as it can easily get on fire.
It will be highly appreciated if you remember once you come out of the pool not to sit sytraight on the bench in front of the TV with a wet bathing suit , as the pool contains chemical that bleach and destroy the non water proof cover and the inside sponge.
Be aware that pets are not allowed inside the property . We love the animals and we as well own pets , but as there are often guests with babies , asthma allergies ,scared of dogs , or not especially animal friendly ,we would like from ourside to show our respect towards them .
Check in is after 14:00 and check out before 12:00 , but as the flights can be anytime ( even at night ) , if there is no booking on that day , both check in and/or check out can be flexible.
This was my young families second visit to the villa and we were just as impressed as the first time! Everything we could possible need was there and we loved every minute. If ever I needed any assistance it was given immediately. Many thanks.
Sofia and Fabrice were the perfect hostst. Thanks to them we had an amazing start of our holiday in Bali. The villa was really beautiful and big and very clean. They gave us a lot tips of nice trips to make and places where to go eat, drink and even to party. Altough Sofia was on her own holiday, she was always there to help us out when we had questions or something. Overall we can not think of anything they could have done more or better to please us and to make our holiday a blast.
Sofia is a great host, we felt very welcome. The accommodation was the same as advertised, it's really nice and cosey. Sofia has great tips for visitations, answered all our questions promptly and gave us hints on what to do and visit. I never had a host before who was so committed as Sofia. I highly recommend her!
My better half and I had a week stay at Sofia's villa during our first holiday in Bali. The beautiful photos of the villa are exactly what you will be treated to when you get there. We arrived late in the evening to a majestically lit up private pool of an inspiring holiday home. The villa was stocked with essentials which was most needful as it was secluded, reasonably distant from the bustling Bali life. However this exclusive villa was exactly what one would desire for a romantic getaway.
You would find yourself cosied up in several parts of the intimate interiors of the villa as Sofia had laden the place with a plush day-bed in the living area as well as bean bags over looking the tranquil garden and picturesque pool. The bedroom is massive with a comfy bed to match. What seemed like and could be a marble bathtub was the highlight of the open style bathroom. Everything about the villa advocated romance, ideal for mood setting.
As a host, you could not find one as exceptional as Sofia. It was rather unfortunate we were not able to meet such a beautiful personality due to opposing schedule but Sofia would check in with us to ensure we were well. She had staff come in almost daily so the villa would be kept pristine. Her many recommendations for things to do in Bali were astute and most welcoming. She was meticulous and genuinely kind.
Throughout our stay we had hired a personal driver / guide to take us around the cultural and trendier parts of Bali. We paid IDR 380,000 / day for his services. His name is Agung and he could be contacted at (phone number hidden). I recommend having a personal driver should your holiday in Bali centres around sightseeing and daily activities.
Before I started writing my review of my stay I read what other people wrote and would like to agree with most of what previous people have said !
Sofia and her husband Fabrice made me feel very very very welcome to Villa Samadhi. They were very very very helpful and tried their best to make my stay a pleasant one. The listing description of the Villa is spot on very close to shops and restaraunts both by Taxi and if you don’t mind walking about 20 mins away. Bali Delhi is about 25 mins walk. Very Spacious and fully air conditioned with some basic food items provide to start of your stay. The cupcakes were very nice Sofia ! Sofia also does not mind having a friendly chat !
My visit coincided with the start of construction of another Villa next door and the workers built there living quarters next to the fence. A screen was erected to give me some privacy. There was a little noise and some unexpected visits from them to hook up water. There was an unfortunate issue with the pool pump/lights which needed regular visits by the serviceman to finish and fix which probably took longer than Sofia/Fabrice wanted and I found a little irritating.
The cleaner Siti did a fantastic job keeping the villa clean but found that she did not have to come everyday as I was on my own and did not make much mess in the Villa. As I wanted to spend much time at the Villa in the sun and using the pool I found that she could have come a little later i.e 4:00pm when the best part of the day in terms of the nice weather is over.
I also wanted to mention that the Wifi is not 100% reliable at the Villa but this is not just confined to the Villa. It also occurs when you out and about as well. You will find that it drops quite often so make the most of it when its working !
This was my sixth visit to Bali and if I do come to visit again will stay at Villa Samadhi again. Highly recommend others check this Villa out if intending to visit.
Sofia and Fabrice
I stayed 3 nights at Sofia's villa. The place is beautiful and I loved every single thing about it. It was clean, well prepared and very comfortable!!! Sofia was very accommodating in making sure that everything fits rightly during our trip. We were late during check in due to flight delay but we were still welcomed at the villa upon our arrival. And she was also very accommodating to our late check out from the villa. Place wise is also convenient to the nearby cities like Ubud/Jinbaran/Kuta. Journey takes less than 2 hours to the mentioned cities.
Sofia also dropped by the villa to meet us for a while despite her busy schedule and recommended us on a few places to go as well.
Truly recommend you to stay here! :D
my first time to bali, and it was a very pleasant and wonderful experience.
the villa is clean and tidy, what you see in the photo is exactly what you will get. the whole villa is air-conditioned (expect the open concept toilet), Sofia even apologies for the works next to her villa (which i dont think she have to , as this wasnt what she expected too.) big and spacious bedroom , and a window to overlook the living room.
making breakfast every morning with all the stuffs she have provided just for her guests is a must for me.. i jus love her kitchen..
Sofia gave every information that helps me getting ard the area.
from booking a taxi on my first day, to renting a bike on the 2nd day,
(she even lend us her helmet , jus becos the rental company helmet stinks =X) going ard areas, recommendation of a specify dish and where to view the most beautiful sunset.. she guided us to a few wonderful places, NOOK , Warung Ocha etc..
Sofia is more than just a host... she is patient with every question i have during our stay in bali...
SOFIA thumbs up for you.. and i definitely will be back..
About the Host, Sofia
Just to write few lines about who i am:-)
Since 2002 that i decided to live in Bali until now, i work on the fashion industry as a women's footwear designer and manufacturer...Lucky me;-) Well, i actually studied architectural design at first and that was the reason that brought me to Bali in 1999.I have been offered a scholarship from the Indonesian government back then about which i am still thankful, because that one year stay opened many new venues for me and brought me in contact with such a different, artistic, inspirational and rich culture that helped me a lot in what i did afterwards.
Between 2000 and 2002 i lived in U.S were i had 2 Indonesian furniture and interior design Galleries and at the same time i started being involved in designing women's shoes mostly as a passion than a way of living...Even though i had a beautiful business that was every day growing in U.S, my spirit was non stop dreaming of Bali.
End of 2002 i decided to finally follow my heart and move on to my dream island. I was very right:-) Here i could have what i was searching for.Sun,Smiles,Sea,Spas,Spirituality and amazing nature all around the island:-):-) Straight i met my beloved husband with whom we are together since then and we have a wonferful 4 years old daughter. As for my business, i focused on my passion for designing shoes that was in did very creative...
In 2012 my architectural soul woke up again.I challenged myself into turning the inspirational footwear studio of all those years ,from an old basic small home, into a villa. That's how villa Samadhi was born.
It took 9 months of constant work and total reconstruction to achieve the result of the present villa that finished middle of July... I put all the love and energy i had and together with a small team of guys that were very understanding we tried to keep a balance of not too modern ,chill out, tropical estate for the guest to feel relaxed and at home...
I hope you will love it as much as i do:-) Your feed back is valuable:-)
