About This Listing
This is a beautiful room in our Georgian house. A warm friendly home in a great location only 10min walk to Blackrock village and many bus routes, also the DART, the most scenic train ticket to the city or further south along the coastline. Sharing also with 2 dogs
The house is beautiful. It is a Georgian terraced house in an amazing neighbourhood in Blackrock. It is a quiet residential street that neighbours a Tennis club. At the back of the garden is an artists studio. The garden is an incredible extension of the house that you are free to relax in and enjoy.
The guests will have access to the entire house and wonderful garden. They are more than welcome to make themselves at home in the kitchen, living room and dining room. The bathroom is shared with my parents who also live in the property however it is right beside the bedroom available and they are very conscious to keep it free for you when you need it.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they want.
We are a 10 minute walk from the local village with all its restaurants, bars and shops. The village is on the sea but close to the city so it has so much to offer.
There are many close transport links within a 10 minute walk from the house. Between the scenic and fast DART train service which links Blackrock to the city centre or south along the coast to the most incredible coastal spots in Dublin
Other Things to Note
There are 2 small dogs on the property but they keep out of the way pretty much! Towels and clean sheets will be provided. Also there will always be milk in the fridge and all the basics which you are welcome to use.
We want guests to feel relaxed and enjoy their stay. Not only in the house but also in the city so come and go as you please and make yourselves at home.
Terry and Bob, thank you for being wonderful hosts. We felt really at home staying with you and enjoyed our stay very much. It was also such a convenient place to stay for our sight-seeing purposes. It was a pleasant walk to the DART station and having purchased the "all you can travel" (for 72 hours)leap card from the airport, we just hopped on and off the public transport to get where we wanted. Other travelers may want to know that public transportation starts to close down around 11:30 PM, so if they want to do something late night in Dublin, they need to plan for taxi or alternate transportation. Having tea with you in the morning was a delight for us. We hope we can meet again in the future.
Terry and Bob were really nice and welcoming. Terry came to pick me up from the bus stop and Bob returned me there, even if it is really close. Terry also offered me some homemade bread and cheese when I arrived late the first evening. They are very friendly and open and always wanted to make sure everything is fine. The room is nice and the house is located in a pleasant residential neighbourhood. The DART line is close and UCD is just a few bus stops away which was very convenient for me.
The family in this house is so warm and welcoming. Our visit started with Terry picking us up from the train station, even though it is only a ten minute walk. She knew we had our bags and arrived right as we got off the Dart. The house is incredible and the room was so comfy. It is located just a 15 minute train ride out of Dublin and is worth staying at because it gets you out to the nearby towns on the train line as well. So wonderful to be able to see some of the Irish coast and Dublin in the same trip. Terry gave amazing advice on what to see in the time we had. We really felt like family in their home and truly appreciate all they did to make us feel comfortable. This airbnb made our trip to Dublin unforgettable and we would definitely stay here if we came back.
We spend a wonderful vacation with Terry and Bob. Sea beach, market, bus station, delicious breakfast(lazy cafe), all of these are walking distance to Terry's warm house. Terry and Bob are both very accommodating and offered us many useful information. The room we live in has a beautiful view and a cozy bed. Again, thank you so much.We miss you so much!
Terry and Bob have been great hosts and immediately made me feel at home in their house. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cosy with the extra advantage of the bathroom being right beside the room. The house is ideally located just a stroll away from main shopping centers and the main street of Blackrock. If you are travelling to Dublin South and want a nice place around the coast, this is most definitely a lovely place to stay with great hosts. I highly recommend it.
Terry and Bob are exceptionally welcoming and wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, while allowing us plenty of space/privacy as needed. The home and room is warm, light and very comfortable, and the location is close to everything you might need. Very highly recommended - we will be staying here again if we return to Dublin!
We loved having Alistair and Helena here. They appreciated every 'little' effort we made and made no demands on us. If they ever again make the long journey from
Adelaide we would love to see them. We wish them the very best.
a we would be delighted to see them
I had a really good experience with Terry she treated my as part of her family, she was kind an always looking for me. I felt like I was home. The neighborhood was nice, the room and the bathroom clean, so I could say that everything perfect. I fully recommend Terry's apartment. If I am going back to Dublin I will stay again there.
About the Host, Terry
I am based in London and am organising this for my parents in my home in Dublin. This house is is the most wonderful warm and inviting home and since moving out there is so much room so they wanted to try and rent the room. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
