About This Listing
Only steps away from the beach, hear the waves at night.
A Quiet, private bungalow surrounded by a protected garden and birds in a sweet little neighbourhood.
Simple, basic , rustique. In one of the most beautiful areas of the island.
Ideal for couple, or writers retreat. All amenities included. Small kitchen, refrigerator, toaster oven, blender, Bathroom, wifi, iphone station, towels, beachtowels and bedding etc.
There is a queensize bed and a single bed.
For shopping is Kilauea town about 10 minutes away and Kapaa 15 minutes away. ( by car) For wonderful smoothies, breakfast and lunch drive up the hill 5 minutes for the Moloaa Fruitstand.
Moloaa Bay is a minute walk away and is perfect for snorkling and swimming on both ends. There is also a beautiful hiking area up the cliffs.
The microclimate in this particular area is unique. It has much less rain then Kilauea and Kapaa, and even a little further up the hillside. Pretty much always nice and sunny but never to hot.
Beautiful quaint neighborhood. Quiet pristine beach. Beautiful hiking on the cliffs.
Bus stop about 35 minute walk up the hill.
We had a wonderful time at the bungalow. It was awesome. Had a couple mosquito issues getting in the hut, but otherwise loved the setting.
We had a great time staying here, though we did run into a few problems. It was pretty difficult to find since there isn't a posted address and Google maps was inaccurate. The neighborhood is really nice and the beach is perfect. As other reviewers said, it's a little "rustic". The bathroom sink was not functioning and it was tricky to get the shower to stay at a comfortable temp, but the bed is comfy and it was nice to have the little extra bedroom for our suitcases. (my boyfriend actually slept in there a few nights because the mosquitos were too much for him) We didn't really spend too much time in the bungalow since we were so busy exploring Kauai.
note - make sure to keep the kitchen very clean! if we left one bit of food in the sink the ants would be all over it
We had a lot of fun in Christel's little cabin in the woods. The main space is a 400-sq-foot studio with a kitchenette (sink, toaster, two-burner range) in one corner and a very soft full-sized bed in another. The walls are mostly screen, with plenty of privacy provided by all the jungle plants. There's a small bathroom and a tiny second bedroom that fits only a twin bed (we used it as a walk-in closet).
The only major problem with the place is that, at least right now, the sink in the bathroom is out of commission: if you want to brush your teeth, use the kitchen sink; if you want to wash your hands after using then toilet, use the kitchen sink. If this were fixed, I would strongly recommend this place. As it is, I'll recommend it with some caution.
Our stay at the Hideaway Beach Bungalow was simply perfect. We were there for three nights and four days celebrating our honeymoon. We had the chance to stay in four different places on the island and this one was one of our favorite.
We are an avid outdoors couple. To be able to fall asleep to the birds surrounding the home and to wake with the sunrise felt like we were camping, but within the comfort of a nice bed.
Christel was very nice to greet us during our stay and gave us the privacy we were looking for. It was comforting to know that she was nearby though if needed.
My husband and I really took advantage of the beauty of this area and the beach just down the road. We were not expecting it to be so close and so private. We were nothing but grateful for our experience here!
Experienced Christel's Hawaiian Hideaway Beach bungalow with my 15-yr-old daughter and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Christel was sweet and her description of the bungalow was right on; it is the perfect writer's retreat. The location is ideal for peace and quiet. The beach is less than 5 minutes away and its a great place to catch the full moon. Falling asleep to the sound of the surf was special. The hiking trail is short and peaceful. Great place to come back to after an entire day of adventuring on the island.
The bungalow features three screened walls - something you can only get away with on Kauai - and everything you'll need for a comfortable stay is provided. Beds were very comfortable.
Great smoothies to be had at the Moloaa fruit stand up the hill, or, save some money and make your own in the bungalow with the house blender.
Great place to stay while on Kauai. We would definitely return.
I can only describe our experience at Christels bungalow as (website hidden) felt like we were in our own private oasis.we could hear the waves crashing on the beach, crickets and birds and no sound of machines.i fell in love with this place and cant wait to go back! We cooked our own meals and had smoothies in the morning. I couldn't have found a more perfect place to relax and unwind and leave our city life behind. im so happy that Christel was so nice and we felt like if we needed anything we could just ask.the beach was our favorite beach we found.practically no one on it and the best sand to run on in the morning.i feel as left i left a piece of my heart there and i will be going back again for sure.thank you Christel for sharing a piece of paradise with us.see you again!
