  • Had a great stay in this cute bungalow! Christel is very nice and accommodating. Don't forget your bug spray, as there were many mosquitoes - at least when we were there in March. Very short walk from the beach. Large yard to enjoy.

  • LOVE this place! I'm so happy we got to call this place home for the last week. It was absolutely perfect for us. The bed is comfortable, and I absolutely love the fact that all the walls in the main room are mesh. We didn't have any trouble with the wind pushing the rain through and it got really rainy at nights. So nice to fall asleep to the rain onthe roof and wake up to the sound of waves. I also loved Moloaa Bay location because it is close to Kapaa and the east and also close to Hanalei and the north. As we were driving down the road it felt like we were going back in time... all the houses are cute and not mansion-y. It felt mellow and local. We lived in Costa Rica for 3 years and this reminded us of that, Super happy we chose this place. Such a short walk to the beach, I wish we could've had more time! Internet didnt work the first day or two but started working and was really fast, even when it was raining! There are a LOT of mosquitos in this area which feasted on me, but I'd rather have mosquito bites than spray poison al over my body, but maybe bring a citrinella candle if you don't want to get bitten. Christel was super nice and friendly. House was clean, beautiful, big garden. Very private and secluded. LOVE Moloaa Bay and I love this house, highly recommended

  • Christel's bungalow had much to recommend it: very close to a lovely and secluded beach, bay, and bird sanctuary; quiet neighborhood; free parking, snorkeling gear, kayak, and paddle board; a friendly host; adequate kitchen facilities; and your own dwelling with lush, green grounds. At $89/night it also was inexpensive. But as the price would lead you to expect, some things were lacking that might be important to some. The furniture was limited to a double bed (with saggy mattress) kitchen table and chairs, though there was space for a couch and stuffed chair. No street number made it very hard to find arriving at night. The shower and toilet were not well cleaned. There was peeling plaster and paint. Electrical outlets were very limited and potentially dangerous extension cords plentiful. Security was minimal--only a locked screen door with screens all around. All things considered, though, we felt the value was fair.

  • Great place! Exactly what we were looking for for our vacation. Beautiful bay and beach just steps away. Christel was more than accommodating. Would get back there again anytime

  • my partner and i loved staying at christel's bungalow. christel was just lovely. accessible and promptly responsive via email, and open and warm in person. proximity to a beach was priority for us, so to have moloa'a bay at walking distance-can't ask for more! the garden surrounding the bungalow is great, and when not rainy season could be enjoyed fully. we found the space welcoming, the bed super comfortable, the shower adequate, and the kitchen sufficiently equipped to make cooking several meals easy. we will certainly return and have already recommended to friends. don't miss this place!

  • We were staying 13nights in the beach Bungalow in December and we really loved the East and North shore, which we explored from here. Moloaa bay is a really beautiful Beach, we enjoyed going there in the mornings. The beach Bungalow is nicely furnished and very well equipped for its size. We cooked here nearly every night. With good weather, it is great to stay there. During our stay it was getting rather chilly (warm blankets, so no problem), but the clothes and towels got damp in the nights and due to the rainy weather in the middle of our stay never really dried. There was a Heavy Storm one night when we could not sleep in the Queen bed in the main room as the wind was blowing too hard through the screens and the roller blind was waving into the bed. We had to sleep in the small room, which has a small bed, but real walls (as we have two small Kids it was really tight in there). The next Night it was pouring rain and Heavy thunderstorms right above us, so we did not get much sleep in these two Nights (very loud without Walls).
We thought 13 Nights were a bit too long, but it is a budgetfriendly Option, very nice locatet and it is definetly nice with nice weather.

  • This island "hideaway" is perfect for somebody wanting an experience of local Kauai- the beach is lovely and not too populated and it's a pretty serene spot. The cottage is rustic but has all the basics and I enjoyed it, although it did get unseasonably chilly one night and most of the walls are actually screens. (A bit like sleeping outside, but I liked that too and could hear the sound of the thundering surf). Definitely worthy of a revisit!

  • my boyfriend and i extremely enjoyed christel's special place! a little bit hard to find in the beginning (as it was hard to believe the little house was placed in the middle of a quiet paradise) it turned out to be the perfect place to stay in kaua'i. it's just magical! we loved the fact we actually slept outside right next to a lilikoi tree and hear all the sounds in the night.

the place was well equipped and clean and christel would help when there was something missing. she was very friendly, shared her home grown papaya with us and even felt she should mow the lawn for us which we didn't really expect her to do... ;)! the bed was really comfortable, little kitchen maybe not enough for inviting a bunch of people to come over but good enough for a breakfast or small dinner. the shower would run out of hot water a few minutes after you turn it on but i think that really is the least thing that bothers you in a place like hawaii...!

we didn't spend much time in the house or the huge garden during the day although i think we should have. also i think we should have spend some more time with christel - she checked every day if everything was ok but we were already off to our day trips..!

we have nothing to complain about and totally recommend this one, it'll leave you a better person and make you wanting to come back every other week or so... ;)! thanks christel for the wonderful stay!
