Interaction with Guests
I say hello to guests and then let them do their thing. I do live just across the street, so I'm almost always on hand and am always happy to help with recommendations.
I love how self-contained the neighborhood is. Some days there is no reason to get in a car. There are often neighborhood parties going on up at Barista Parlour or the Groove record shop. We're quite close to downtown and other nice areas such as 12 South, Germantown and the Gulch. I also love going down to the Shelby Bottoms Greenway (just five minutes away) to jog along the river or ride one of the free bikes provided by the nature center.
The bus stop is a three minute walk away and runs downtown every 15 minutes. I would say I usually prefer taking a ride service such as Uber or Lyft, which are cheap and plentiful around here.
Other Things to Note
Rental Rate includes almost 16 percent in taxes including:
Tennessee Sales Tax of 9.25%

This is a neighborhood of old houses with old windows, so even loud conversation from the front porch late at night can keep neighbors awake. Please no loud music/parties, and thanks for being mindful of this.
Wes was super easy to deal with and very accommodating. The house is in a great location and lovely with plenty of great places to eat nearby. This is a great pick for your stay in Nashville.
J's place is amazing. I stayed with three friends and we had a great time! The place is very unique and is within shirt walking distance to many east Nashville attractions. My friends were very taken with it - so much that two of them told me they would reserve the same spot for potential upcoming trips to Nashville.
Our host was great. He was personable and approachable and stopped by to see that everything was meeting our expectations. The house was perfect for three couples and a toddler! The back yard was wonderful and the house was charming. The location was also exactly what we were looking for because it was central to anything you could need. We also all agreed that the simple decorate it feel like home.
The house was great! Honestly, I want this to be my Nashville spot every time I'm back in town. Barista Parlor coffee around the corner, 5 Points just down the street, the location is amazing! The six of us were very comfortable and I already miss sitting on the back porch.
This was my first Airbnb experience and my first trip to Nashville and it could not have been better. 5 of us stayed at J's place and hardly wanted to leave the house. It is impeccably decorated, has tons of space, and the back porch/yard is the perfect getaway. When we did venture out there are so many restaurants, bars, and cute local shops within walking distance. J was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed including some awesome sketched out maps! If you are looking for a weekend away J Wes's place in East Nashville is the perfect spot to kick back and relax.
J. Wes was the perfect host and was very welcoming. The house is beautiful and located in one of the best neighborhoods in Nashville. It's within 5 minutes walking distance to some of the best restaurants, coffee and bars in the city. Highly recommend J.Wes and his home.
