Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Our cottage is ideal for exploring the Eden Valley. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, keen fishermen/women, business travellers, and up to two furry friends (pets). Generous sitting/dining room with Freeview tv and DVD player. Double bedroom with ensuite shower room. Fully fitted kitchen. Elec, heating, towels and linen included. Private enclosed garden and parking. Shops in nearby Appleby or Penrith, and our excellent village pub is a mere 200m away. What more could you want

The space
Unique due to its history - Swindale Cottage has been converted from the barn which attaches our family home (Manor House). It originally housed livestock, although was converted into stables in the nineteenth century. Lovely original exposed oak beams and quirky window openings!

Stunning scenery, great walks, peace and quiet, and plenty of good local pubs to frequent for excellent food and drink (we even have our own brewery in the village!)

I am a professional archaeologist and work nationwide, although I look forward to coming back to the Eden Valley at weekends. I lead a hectic life, which is why I love the peace and quiet of the area. I have travelled extensively throughout the world, including periods spent in the wilderness of British Columbia. I love the mountains which is great as three ranges are within driving distance of the cottage. I know what people like with guest/holiday requirements as I have spent the past twenty years living out of a suitcase.
