About this listing
Looking for a chance to unwind or a quiet place to recharge as you enjoy many adventures in Sonoma County? Come check out the tranquility of our quiet, country property.
Relax and rejuvenate in a peaceful, private studio cottage nestled by oak trees and surrounded by pastures of sheep and cows. The cottage is separate from the main house and granny unit, all of which are located on 2 beautiful acres. Sit back in the hammock and enjoy the sounds of songbirds and watch the dragonflies flit through the garden or jump in the large solar-heated pool (20' x 40’) or hot tub. The cottage is equipped with 1/2 bath, and a shower is available in pool house.
Located just 15 minutes from historic Petaluma, the Cottage provides a glimpse into rural Petaluma life with quick access to great restaurants, wineries, breweries, live theater, antique stores, kayaking, and hiking, without the hustle and bustle. We are about 30 minutes to the beach or Point Reyes National Seashore, and a quick hop to Sonoma or Napa and less than an hour from San Francisco.
Life is quiet here. Come see. Free wi-fi and parking.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy to welcome you to our country paradise and give you lots of ideas and recommendations for dining and activities. Beki is a native Petaluman. Feel free to contact us during your stay, but we will give you plenty of privacy.
Rather than sirens and car horns, you will hear goats, sheep, horses and cows as they graze nearby. We have lots of birds and butterflies. There are no street lights so the neighborhood is full of stars at night.
The cottage is about 4 miles from the nearest bus stop so most guests prefer to travel by car.
Other Things to Note
Harper's Bazaaar listed Petaluma as the number 1 travel destination: (website hidden)_fcbks
No pets and no smoking or vaping in the cottage or on the property. Hot tub closes at 10 p.m.
The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. The place was quaint and just as described. My young daughter loved the dogs. Would definitely do it again.
This is a special place and true to the Sonoma County spirit. It's a beautiful property with a great sense of design and layout. Lay down in the hammock, look up through the tall trees, breathe in Eucalyptus, and let your stress fall away. Great stay!
La cabaña me encanto, el lugar tan lindo y acogedor. Se cump!io el objetivo de desconectarse de la ciudad. Los anfitriones nos apoyaron.
Beki & Mike's cottage and entire property is a real oasis in California- after driving in 2.5 hours of traffic from San Fran, finally exiting and just 5 minutes from the freeway you reach their home and feel as if you're far out in the country :) totally amazing and relaxing. The cottage itself is large enough, very comfortable bed, clean and quiet. You have a toilet and sink in your cottage and it's a short walk to the pool house for your shower. Not a problem at all :) the shower is small but powerful. Their hot tub is nice too!
Their location is perfect because it's 10 minutes to downtown Petaluma, 30 minutes from Santa Rosa, and 30 minutes from Napa. Out of all those places we were very happy we stayed in Petaluma country.
Overall we loved the look and feel of their place (the dogs and goats are fun and their plants are beautiful) and felt welcomed to come and go as we please--- very very comfortable stay! We would stay here again :)
We arrived at the house very late and left early because of a horrible incident happened to us when we were in San Francisco. We'd like to come here again next time and stay longer. It's a nice place.
This is a lovely stay. I loved the hot bath, the baby goats, the morning sunshine and the lovely hosts. It was a pleasing stay at Beki and Mike Long's. The only problem was the Wifi. But I connected with Xfinitywifi and watched a movie. I would suggest guests go to the cottage without the idea of using a laptop for heavy work. Enjoy nature. If necessary, download a movie for the night.
Beki and Mike have a beautifully landscaped property and a lovely cottage. Beki was friendly and pleasant. A couple things I wish I had known before arriving: 1) there is no air conditioner, so it was a bit warm in the cottage - however, a fan was provided 2) there is no shower in the cottage, but there is one down the pathway near the pool. This was a little more "rustic" than I had anticipated, so my only regret is that I was not more prepared for that. Other than that, it was a beautiful, whimsical, and peaceful experience staying at Oak Grove Cottage. Thank you Beki and Mike!
