Where you’ll be

Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom

Stonehaven is a great location, there is the sea to one side and mountains to the other. So much to do for both families, couples and groups.

Stonehaven is famous for its Hogmany fireballs ceremony, when people swing blazing fireballs above their heads to ward off evil spirits - it's a fantastic event. In recent years Stonehaven has hosted Open Air in the Square at Hogmany also with bands such as Deacon Blue, Human League and Simple Minds all playing.

There are also many historical buildings - beautiful, dramatic Dunottar Castle which perches on a cliff top overlooking the North Sea being just one.

The Olympic sized heated open air pool just opposite the Haven is open from
May to September and is located within a stunning Art Deco building maintained by a team of volunteers.

Stonehaven hosts the Midsummer Beer Happening every June, and a folk festival in July amongst many more events.

There are lots of restaurants in town to choose from including the harbour side Marine Hotel, The Carron and not forgetting the award winning "Bay Fish & Chips" just a two minute walk from the Haven which is right beside Auntie Betty's ice cream shop, a must for young and old alike
