About this listing

The space

Our home is a newly renovated mix of modern and vintage flea market finds. The front of the house retains the original facade while the inside and new addition in the back are open-concept modern. It is on a quiet and safe street.

The house itself is bright with two skylights and floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows facing the garden. We have a big master bedroom with a king sized bed and a vanity/make-up area. Next door there is a bathroom with an old Victorian tub and a modern glass shower. Down the hall past the artist studio is a smaller bedroom with a queen sized bed. The kitchen is open and modern with a 6 burner gas range. There is a TV in the front part of the house room and a fireplace in the back part, overlooking the garden. The fully finished basement has a bathroom with walk-in shower as well as a fully equipped laundry room. It also has an additional large bedroom that can sleep two on a sofa bed. We would charge $50 extra per person. The backyard is fenced in and has a nice deck, table and barbecue to use. There is a garage with one parking spot behind the house. Highspeed WIFI is available throughout the house and garden.

We are located right next to Trinity Bellwoods Park where there is a nice big green area with lots of trees, baseball diamonds, wading pool for kids in the summer and a modern play area for children.

Our home is within walking distance to every great place downtown. We are in the heart of Queen Street West and a block from Ossington Avenue with great restaurants and bars.

Streetcar stops are close by on Queen St. and King Street, you can also catch a bus on Shaw St. that takes you to the Ossington subway stop.

**If you are looking to book a few months in advance but it states "unavailable", please contact me as we could plan to go out of town when you want to be here.

**If you have allergies please know that we have a dog called Hobo and a cat called Chickpea. Hobo travels with us but the cat will be keeping you company. Fortunately she's pretty independent and you would just have to let Chickpea in and out of the house and fill her food bowl.

**$75 cleaning fee covers cleaning before and after your stay. If you are staying for an extended period of time extra cleaning days can be arranged at an additional fee.

Amazing neighborhood, stayed super quiet and lovely on their little street but just a walk down queen street is anything you could possibly need at any time of the day or night. Jamie and Alex were amazing and left us all the info we needed and a bottle of wine in the fridge. We couldn't have felt more welcome or enjoyed our stay more.

Jamie and Alex’s home in Toronto is gorgeous. From the moment we walked into “our house” for the weekend we knew we were in for a treat. The gorgeous gourmet kitchen, beautiful decor and art, clean and modern bathrooms and of course that beautiful back deck. Meeting Jamie was a pleasure, she made us feel very welcome and left us a few maps and notes for any just in case purposes. The garage fit my large SUV perfectly! Chickpea totally does his own thing and Paw-Paw the neighbour’s black cat was in for any kind of attention! Walking distance to just about anywhere or a quick uber! Thank you so much for the lovely weekend, I will never stay in a hotel in TO again! What an amazing experience!!

This was my first time staying in an Airbnd though my grown children (whom I was with) have had experience with them. And for my first time this was a great way to be introduced. Jamie met us and could not have been more friendly and welcoming. She was simple and efficient in all her instructions, and stated they were 'casual' which made me relax about taking care and responsibility for someone else's home. I especially appreciated that she was clear about not having to stay up waiting for Chickpea the cat to return at night. "Don't wait up for her" was her comment. That was important otherwise I would have! The main floor was modern and open and artistic -- perfect for us visiting as a family. And the back deck and yard were charming and in view even when we were enjoying the inside, so an extension of space. We celebrated my daughter in law from England's 36th birthday with delicious pastry from the nearby patisierre Nadege. We were able to walk to White Squirrel cafe for delicious ice cream. And twice went for coffee at the newly opened Sam James. The home was just steps from some of our favorite shops like the Japanese Paper Place. My daughter in law bought a pair of Aussie style boots at Blundstones, and we were able to shop for next day cottage provisions at the amazing butcher shop called Cumbrae. On the last morning we had a big family breakfast at the darling new restaurant called 'Rose and Sons'. It was so close to the house we walked there in 2 minutes. A huge bonus with two little granddaughters with us was having the beautiful Trinity Bellwoods Park just 5 minutes away on a hot summer day. The atmosphere inside in the evenings is lovely with the lighting, and we sat out on the deck one night with candles on. Just all perfect for our needs as a family visit on this special weekend.

Alex and Jamie were great hosts, easy to communicate with and provide a lovely well renovated home to enjoy the neighborhood and surrounding areas. The garage is very practical and accommodated our large SUV. The courtyard is a great place to have a glass of wine in the evening! Thanks again Frank&Sarah
