About This Listing
The spacious room sleeps 3, and is perfect for a couple (with or without a child), or 3 good friends!
The house is 5 minutes from one of the best beaches in Portugal, at the edge of a rural village, with restaurantes, bars & shops.
The surrounding nature invites for long walks, as there are infinite amounts of sights of interest to visit, for instance the lighthouse at Cabo da Roca (around 3 km away) which is the most Western Point of mainland Europe, and of course the many palaces, castles and monasteries dotted around the Sintra Mountain...too much to chose from, to mention here!
The beaches are all perfect for various watersports... surfing, bodyboard, kitesurf, windsurf, diving & spearfishing are all popular sports amongs the people here, and if you would like to try something new, it can be arranged easily.
For the more relaxed holidaymakers, there are ofcourse many less strenuous activities to enjoy, for instance naturewalks on the cliffs above the coastline, walking either North (where you can see 120 million year old dinosaur-footprints near Praia Grande!) or walking South (where you can reach the "wild" beach, Praia da Ursa, and Cabo da Roca itself, and get a certificate to prove you were at the most Western Point!): or you can go shopping in "Forum",Sintra, the newly built & biggest shoppingcenter in Portugal, or in nearby Cascais (Portugal's richest area, therefore lots of shops!), dining out on delicious freshly caught seafood, sunbathing or barbecue on the beach...or just relaxing on the terrace with a glass of good Local Portuguese wine...
Close to magical Sintra, and 30 minutes from Lisbon

Marianne's place is just like her, warm, friendly and cheerful. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and Marianne is extremely welcoming and helpful. The room is bright and airy, with a view of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. Staying at her place was an absolute pleasure. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful time!!
Very welcoming, host was accommodating and flexible. Room bright and clean with a comfy bed. Great location, short walk to lovely beach.
Perfect little holiday town.
Thanks Marianne, and see you next time!
We had a really nice stay, although it was only one night. Nice, charming little house, and a great breakfast in the morning. Only 15 min walk to the beach;)
Me and my boyfriend stayed 2 nights at Marianne's house. She welcomed us very friendly and gave us very good tips what to do in the Almocageme area. If you are searching a special place far from tourism, stay at Marianne's lovely house. We had a lot of fun there. Thank you so much! :)
Marianne made us feel welcome right from the start. She's a warm person, living in a cosy house in a very beautiful area. We walked to the fantastic beach every day. You can can walk by the road, but Marianne is happy to show you several trails through the woods.
We'll be back!
Was made to feel so welcome in Marianne's house from the first second we arrived. I loved the village where she lives with lovely cafe and traditional bars right on your door step. Love having dogs in the house.... Just made me feel more at home. Thank you for a lovely 3 days! X
About the Host, Marianne
I am from Denmark, lived in England for 20 years where I was self-employed, running a small alternative fashion shop selling clothes, music etc. Moved to Portugal 6 years ago, first travelling around the country in my van, discovering the best parts, and now living in Almocageme, in the "foothills of the Mountain of the Moon", where me & my 2 dogs feel at home... We love to go walking or running in the beautiful nature aound here, and spend several hours every day, doing just that!
