The Space

Spacious ranch style home with a U-shape floor plan with communal spaces in the front and sleeping quarters in the back

3 bedrooms - no private rooms at this location
4 full bathrooms
3+ work areas - communal and private work spaces!

The females have an attached bathroom, their own sitting area and 3 closets!

Guest Access

All utilities are included and free WIFI.

Clean linens/bedding are provided + a fresh towel.

Why would someone say light cooking? Home prepped meals really warms up the house and it's encouraged.

Interaction with Guests

It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.

We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout. Remember that work, musical instruments and books take precedence over the television.

The Neighborhood

Located in the heart of Menlo Park and just a 5 minute walk to Menlo Park Caltrain Station, restaurants and groceries. Downtown Palo Alto and Stanford are also really accessible from the home.

Nealon Park and Burgess Park are super close. The Guild Theatre hosts midnight screenings of the Rocky Horror Shows on the first Saturday of every month. Café Borrone has an excellent menu and atmosphere. Downtown Menlo is stacked with good eats and great grocers like Trader Joe's and Draeger's. Other establishments that are less than a block away include: Safeway, Starbucks, CVS & BevMo.

Palo Alto: You are less than half a mile from Stanford Mall and only one mile away from downtown Palo Alto! Stanford University and Palo Alto Town & Country Plaza is just an arm’s reach away from there.

Getting around

The location is ideal in terms of walkability. Caltrain is conveniently located on the other side of El Camino.

Too tired to walk? We have bikes you can use that will swiftly get you there in less than 10 minutes.

Other Things to Note

More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.

  • Vic was great and warmest. The best experience of my first trip to Menlo Park.

  • Had an amazing experience at the Menlo Park HackerHome! I had to arrive early and was very warmly welcomed by Marcelo at the HackerHome! He gave me a really awesome tour of the place and introduced me to the other tenants staying there! Everyone there is someone pretty cool and in tech --- there were people working at (website hidden), working on their own tech companies and it was a pretty cool vibe overall! Highly recommended for entrepreneurs looking for temporary lodging while in the valley!

  • Vic is a so nice and easy going guy. He truly care about people living there. Hackerhome is a great place. I meet people from different countries with different culture background. It's a good culture experience for me as I'm a new comer to U.S. THANKS!

  • I had an amazing stay at the Menlo Park hacker home, Vic and Vinh are super nice and really take the time to get to know every guest staying with them, plus who can forget the house dinners and get-togethers (special thanks to Sarah for her culinary magic). The house has a really friendly atmosphere and I've met some awesome people during my stay.

  • The Menlo Park house is a great place to stay! Why?

    - Location is close to Stanford
    - Location is close to Caltrain
    - You meet fantastic people
    - Beds are cozy and clean (I got a thank you card on my pillow!)
    - The house is clean and fully stocked with towels and coffee
    - The hosts are so accommodating and welcoming
    - There is a Safeway next door
    - There is a sunny patio
    - There is wifi

Bottom line is these hosts are the best. They take the time to get to know you and offer great tips on what to see that would suit your interests. I had a fantastic time, and will stay at Menlo Park again the next time I am in the neighbourhood. Thank you so much Vic and Vinh!

  • I was looking for a place to stay in Menlo Park. I contacted Vic and he replied right away. An hour later I Was checked in. Everything was in order. There were a bunch of people in the house, and everyone was so friendly. Within 10 mins I felt right at home.

The place is very clean, even when there are many people there. There are 4 bathrooms, so you never have to wait. The kitchen is big with 2 fridges. There's enough workspace in the living room for 16 people if you need it. They have bikes with helmets, security chains and everything so you can just grab one and go. Internet is super fast. There's a printer. There are even 2 white boards. The driveway is enough for 3 cars, and there's an outdoor seating/bbq area. There's even a family size washer and dryer and everything you need to do your laundry.

Vic and Vinh are amazing hosts. Very attentive and caring. The come around a lot to check if we need anything. Vic's wife Sarah even made us Baklava!

The House is ideally located if you want to be in the middle of everything. There's a train station nearby if you need to go to SF. Stanford is within waling distance and would take you minutes if by bicycle. Safeway and Trader Joe's are just minutes away by foot.

After staying for one week I decided to extend another week. I would highly recommend this place or any of Vic's places if you'e in SF and the Bay Area.
