The apartement is as nice as you see it in the pictures and even more. It was perfectly clean (which is very important to me) and it's very comfortable and roomy.
De left me some groceries in the kitchen like coffee, orange juice and crackers. That was a very nice touch, especially if we consider that I called her in the very last minute to rent the apartment.
It was very kind of her to accept me.
We had a misunderstanding at the beginning but we discussed it and afterwards, everything was just fine.
I have to say that I loved the Smart TV !!! I watched some movies and I was totally happy about it.
You will also love how close the apt is to the train. It's just downstairs so you can reach Manhattan in a few minutes.
I would definitely come back to De's home.
De was a great host who was super responsive via text and email. She was able to accommodate our arrival time and gave us very clear instructions how to find/enter the building. She gave us a quick tour of the place upon arrival, which was clean and looked just like the photos. She provided top quality shampoo and conditioner for us along with Neutrogena face wash and Colgate/Sensodyte toothpaste. New and clean towels and bed sheets. Starbucks Kuerig coffee and Tazo tea w/ honey in the kitchen. New goat milk/orange juice in the fridge. The smart TV w/ Netflix access was a great addition after a long day of walking around NYC. Subway is only a block away and the neighborhood is very safe and convenient. The place had automatic heating so it got a bit hot and dry, but a crack of a window and a glass of water by the bed were easily solutions. I'd definitely stay here again !
The description of the apartment is very accurate. Our main focus in choosing to stay here was the location since we wanted to stay near La Guardia and this is a great spot for that, and at the same time it is close to the subway station so you can easily commute to Manhattan.
We also really liked the coffee/tea station in the kitchen... very helpful for those early mornings!
BTW I did not get the chance to meet De, but she was available at all time and very attentive and helpful :).
We were met on arrival by a very helpful De who gave us a tour of the apartment and outlined relevant useful details on the area and how to get from A to B on the subway which was just around the corner. The R line was very convenient for all areas we wanted to visit during our trip. The apartment is just as it is in the picture. It is ideal for two people or even someone with small children. It was spotlessly clean, had all the mod cons. De supplied us with necessities such as tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereal, fruit etc, which were all very useful in the mornings and meant we could get on our way quicker. All toiletries and towels were also supplied which saved on room and weight in our cases. De was on hand by phone for any queries that might arise during our stay. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to travel to New York.
Our host welcomed us warmly at the time we arrived and gave us a pretty good "tour" of the apartment. It was clean, neat and in "move-in" condition for our 4-night stay. She gave us a quick rundown on the neighborhood: it's about 15 minutes from Manhattan, but the subway station's super-close (you can see it! from the window!) so it's a good way to experience a typical ethnic Queens n'hood but also be in easy reach of the City. Apt. is exactly as it looks, and everything works well; kitchen is well-appointed with accessories, and our host even invited us to enjoy some treats like coffee, tea, juices, and snacks. Comforters/blankets were super! We ended up staying one EXTRA night in the end! (Only one small point - the "city view" is more of a 'glimpse' than a full-on view~ :) But I'd recommend this apt. to anyone - or a couple - keen on staying in Queens.
I find this apartment in Airbnb was my first experience here and was a succes. I used to go for congress and wor eventos and this time with my mother also. De was really polite, the apartment great as the location and near to Manhattan, one block r line. So all was perfect I will recomend De as a great guest she receive us with bananas, she called taxis for us to go to AirPort and be sure that I will came back. Facilities with checa in and check out. So flexible ejem she can do it. Many thanks De!
We found this a nice apartment with a good kitchen and bathroom in a good location for nearby stores and also for transport. There were some things we found disappointing. it was hot in NYC this October and the apartment does not have cooling or even a fan. There was no where comfortable to sit since the couch is a sofa bed and we did not find the bed comfortable. It was probably not the right apartment for us. De was very helpful. It would be useful to have a folder explaining how the appliances work.
Anne made reservation for 7 days for two people and after two nights she left and she returned key next day saying they decided to stay with friends. They weren't sure from the beginning if they stay with friends a few days or return to the apartment. Little confusing.
Anyway they broke a chair in the kitchen. And they are saying there's no where comfortable to sit! The apartment is a studio it has FOUR big chairs stools in the kitchen, ONE chair in the living room and a three seater COUCH in the living room and a BED....how many more chairs or places to seat you need as a couple?( two guests)??????????
The apartment looks EXACTLY like in the pictures!!! And it's all new!!
Another thing, the temperature in October at night drops at 8 or 9 C ( 46 F).... I personally think you need heat this time of the year in New York not AC or fan!!
I love AIRBNB and I met a lot of nice people, open minded, willing to travel and explore and everybody was satisfied with my place BUT Airbnb is not for everyone!!!
Looking forward to host you !
