Welcome to SF! I have a VERY SMALL one bedroom apartment right in the middle of the city to SHARE with you. Walk out the front door and you have access to lots of SF only stuff. Think of it as crashing at your brother's place.

The space

1 person only, no exceptions, the place is VERY SMALL. Thanks.

Clean, quiet, simple, safe and close to everything. Nothing fancy, no frills, no view, old building, not much sunlight (great for napping). The apartment consists of 2 rooms, a front/living room where the kitchen also is, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

YOU GET THE BEDROOM (11x8 ft), full size bed (with a door that closes and locks), I use and sleep in the front room (18x8) where I am very comfortable. I put up a privacy screen when I am sleeping. You will cross the front room to reach the bathroom.

Bedroom has a closet/armoire entirely for your use, we share the bathroom. Clean linens and towels provided.

Microwave only, so this isn't a place to cook meals. The gas stove needs to be replaced. Lots of eating options all around. Bakery is directly downstairs and is outstanding. You will be able to hear both the foghorn at night in the bedroom if it is foggy at the Golden Gate Bridge (I find it soothing) and the whirring of the cable car line -- welcome to SF!
Hair dryer, iron, large box fan for cooling or white noise, available.

Guest access

Guest has access to everything. You get keys to come and go as you please. Don't worry about waking me if I'm sleeping, I won't hear you. And I'll probably be out later than you will. I work until 2 am several times a week and get up by 8:30 am.

Interaction with guests

If I am around I am happy to show you a bit of SF. I know a lot about SF and can help you find what you're looking for. I am happy to let you in before check-in to store your stuff or just hang out (please respect the current guest's belongings, if applicable.)
I am out during the day (after 10 am) and most evenings.
If I'm not going to be around for the night I will let you know so you can have the place to yourself.

Other things to note

Microwave and toaster only, of course use of refrigerator ok.
No smoking of anything at anytime.

Robert's place was amazing! Traveling alone is a can be scary, but Rob made me feel at home and was very welcoming. The room was exactly what I needed, and the bed was comfortable. Rob was also very knowledgeable about San Francisco and recommended some great restaurants and events to check out during my trip. I couldn't have asked for a better host!

This place and Robert's hospitality surpassed all my expectations. The room is clean and perfect for one or two people who don't mind sharing the bed. I loved the location of the apartment and as a solo traveller felt safe and I had no problem finding my way around the city. Trader Joe's is also right across the street so that was a plus. I can't say enough about how convenient and perfect this stay was. Definitely my best experience with Airbnb so far. Thank you, Robert! I really have no complaints.

If you want to live like "a local", then you must stay at Robert's place! It is smack dab in the middle of everything. It was easy to navigate the public transit to and from his place, and he gives a very thorough explanation as to how to get to his place from SFO. The room was better than expected. I got the best nights sleeps with the open window and and fan and comfortable bed. I ended up having to get in later than expected and Robert worked with me to get the keys and video on how to use the shower ahead of time. Great stay!

Robert welcomes you like an old friend crashing at his place. He makes himself available for any questions you might have and responds promptly. You're in good hands and you'll feel right at home. The room is arranged in such a way that if you wanted to stay in the entire time, you could do so comfortably. However, it would be a mistake not to take advantage of the vantage point this room offers--it is not far from any place worth visiting. No matter which direction you go. And when you come back after a tiresome day, getting your rest won't be hard in this friendly neighborhood.

Great stay. As described. Robert went above and beyond to accommodate an early check in and was very helpful re: getting around town.
