There is Street Parking - no permit required. Keep in mind, as is common in the heart of the city, parking becomes more difficult when people are home from work. Public transportation in the form of buses (the 71 which takes you down Market stright to the ferry building is a block away) and the Muni train is nearby or you can just hail a cab!
Check-in is 3:00 pm with an 11:00 am check out, but it is flexible depending on the schedule.
(No smoking, No Pets Please)
Also - you should know the rates are $400/$450 weekend. The Airbnb calendar doesn't seem to be showing these rates or calculating them consistently.
Here are some of our favorite local places. This isn’t a complete list but can get you started!
Pork Store Cafe - 1451 Haight @ Ashbury (eggs in a nest, banana walnut pancakes) If you don’t want to wait in line you can call it in and bring it home to eat!
La Boulange de Cole -1000 Cole St (between Parnassus Ave & Grattan St) (great French place, lots of little quiches and treats) Family friendly, worth the 6 block walk up Cole.
Squat and Gobble - 1428 Haight St (between Ashbury St & Masonic Ave) (crepes)
Blue Front Café – 1430 Haight St @ Ashbury (Bagels)
Peoples Café and Coffee for the People - Coffee
El Faro - 1654 Haight St (between Belvedere St & Cole St) (Mission Style Super Burritos – a San Francisco Classic!)
Blue Front Café – Mediterranean Food
Cha Cha Cha – Caribbean Tapas. One of the best restaurants in the city. Doesn’t take reservations so either go early or put your name in and plan to either come back, get sangria there, or go to a neighboring pub for a bit. 1801 Haight St (between Shrader St & Stanyan St)
Alembic – 1801 Haight St (between Shrader St & Stanyan St)
Gastro pub. Great chef with a really creative and original menu that changes daily.
Escape from NY Pizza 1737 Haight Street (NY style by the slice) up on Haight
Delivery food: Paxtis (get the deep dish pizza – takes an hour but worth the wait!), Big Lantern Chinese; Siam Lotus Thai and Best of Thai Noodle;– see the menus (tiny table in the front room)!
Bars on Haight: Aub Zam Zam (SF's famously quirky bar); Magnolia (great Gastro pub food and microbrews); Hopson's Choice (Antique sofas and yummy but dangerous punch); Murios (has Pliney the Elder on tap); Martin Macks (Irish Sports bar with all the fixins)
Haight Street Market, 1530 Haight Street, is around the block. They are expensive on some items but produce is a pretty good deal.
Whole Foods - Haight and Stanyan (pretty much has everything)
Liquid Experience, 1589 Haight Street, is a great place to get some really interesting beers and wines. They know their stuff – so ask them!
Things to do:
Walk down the panhandle to JFK drive in Golden Gate Park (street is shut down on Sundays) – by the Conservatory of Flowers, Stowe Lake (can rent boats or carriages to ride), Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Gardens
Walk to the Koret Children’s Playground (bring some cardboard if the kids want to go down the Toboggan hill and bring some change for the historical Carousel if its open)
Walk to the De Young Museum (Fine Art and travelling exhibits)
Walk to the California Academy of Arts and the Steinhart Aquarium (Albino alligator, Planetarium – very fun!)
Shopping on Haight Street – Ambiance at 1458 Haight is my favorite store, but there’s a ton of places to go!

The house was very nice and the host was too.
Beautiful house. Great location. Very communicative owner! Perfect.
The reservation was canceled 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I was confused about the week of Thanksgiving because it came a week later this year. I even had the week before mistakenly blocked off for my family, including my grade school children and extended family, who had been planning Thanksgiving together for months. I offered the family who was displaced any difference in price for a comparable AirBnB home and a free weekend at my place. AirBnB was incredibly helpful in offering to work with finding the family a new location in the three weeks before they were to come stay.
We love Judith's house! There was plenty of space for four of us, the kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. We had a very comfortable stay. Judith was very easy to communicate with and she responds to all queries fairly quickly. Would definitely book again if we had the chance.
Everything was as advertised if not better. In San Francisco for our sons wedding in Golden Gate Park. Location, size, layout, kitchen, price, ALL PERFECT!
My family (8 people, 3 generations) stayed in this home for five nights. It was a great place all around. Great location in SF. There was plenty of room for everyone. Having two living room areas was very convenient for our group. The backyard was ideal for the kids and great for getting fresh air anytime. The kitchen was well stocked for home cooked meals. Communication with the owner was easy and Judith was very attentive in addressing a few detailed needs relating to babies.
I would recommend this home to anyone!
My family and I had an excellent stay in the Haight in Judith's house. The location is excellent within a minutes walk from "that" famous intersection with buses easily accessible from Haight street itself ( the 71 ). Haight Street market is just around the corner as well as plenty of vintage and quirky clothes stores and constant living reminders of a generation that changed the world ( when they weren't stoned ). We comfortably accommodated our four kids. Kitchen was great and every room seemed to have a TV. San Francisco is a great city to take the family and I highly recommend the house for its location and amenities. Only only negative was the lack of off-street parking. Don't worry - you don't need permits. Try not to move your rental car on Friday or Saturday nights as finding a park and winning the lottery can have the same probability. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something on Oak street if you don't mind a short walk back to the house. Otherwise a solid four stars from me. Thanks Judith !
Nice house in a fantastic neighborhood. We loved it.
Great location, very near the awesome Golden Gate Park. Lots of room in this place. Kitchen is very well equipped.
And the host is amazingly responsive!
Only gotcha I would point out is that it's in a cellular dead zone (seems like it's common in SF). There are only a couple of spots in the house where you'll get minimal cell reception.
My family stayed here with my sister-in-law's family - 4 adults and 4 children. Everyone gave this place a big thumbs up!
Much better than a hotel.
One block from the corner of Haight and Ashbury, but very peaceful. The Haight Ashbury Market is around the corner if you need groceries. Golden Gate Park and the Science Center is walking distance (~20 minutes to Science Center).
Parking is a bit of a challenge, but doable. I recommend (website hidden)
The owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with.
I travel globally for business and with my family and highly recommend this place.
