Welcome to your Home from Home.
This is a lovely spacious apartment in the heart of the City just a few minutes from the sites and attractions of the Old Town and a walk or short bus to everywhere else. It's perfect for a family, two couples ( or even one couple, it's far better value than a hotel )
Public transport is nearby and there is a private paid car park nearby if you have arrived by car
Two bedrooms, one room with a double bed and a sofa bed and one room with two single beds ( that can be joined into a double ). Additionally we have a modern kitchen, bathroom and storage room with a washing machine.
And we don't forget those extras that will really make this your 'home from home' - linen and towels, ironing board, wifi, a flatscreen with cable and some movies to watch, there's a crib, high chair and baby bath, some books, films, maps and info about Warsaw. If you don't fancy cooking or walking too far nearby Barylka pub has offered our Guests a 20% off all food and drink bills.
Guests arriving at the train station should let me know in advance as I can often pick them up on my way.
Any special requirements or questions just ask, we love to see our Guests leave happy ( I think the Reviews show that ! )
ps - Some of our Guests have been Business travellers and we are able to arrange driving and translation services at additional cost. If you are coming to Modlin ask about transfers, we can help.
pps - Once you've booked we will send you some additional information to help with getting here, transfers, getting around, places etc
The whole apartment is at the disposal of our Guests
Interaction with Guests
We will always try and meet our Guests when they arrive, hand over the keys, welcome and answer any questions there may be. As we have several Mariensztat listings we are often around to help and even drop you off somewhere if it is on the way.
Something about Marensztat...
We love the square - it's seldom busy but situated right next to Warsaw Old Town and has a very local character. You'll find a little shop, a chemist, a pub, a Chinese restaurant and ... just us locals !
And most of all we think it's one of Warsaw's prettiest spots in the summer, sitting by the fountain or enjoying a coffee or beer enjoying the view.
Just a few minutes walk and you are in the centre of historic Warsaw with almost every other site or museum just a walk or bus ride away.
Mariensztat itself is a neighbourhood in Warsaw's borough of Śródmieście (city centre). It is located between the Vistula river and the Old Town. The historical neighbourhood dates from the 18th century, when local nobleman Eustachy Potocki married Maria Kątska and received the parcel of land as part of Kątska's dowry. He established a jurydyka and named the town Maryenstadt after his wife, adding the German suffix stadt to please the Saxon king of Poland. After World War II, the spelling was changed to Mariensztat, but this did not change the (email hidden)e neighbourhood was razed to the ground during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. Reconstruction work began in 1948, involving a complete redesign of the street plan and architectural appearance of the area. Mariensztat became a model housing project under Poland's new communist authorities, and was the first part of the city to be completed in their ongoing reconstruction of Warsaw.
Mariensztat is easily accessible by bus, taxi and by foot. Getting here is easy and we will send you full instructions when you book.
Other Things to Note
We have a few apartments around the Mariensztat Area so if there is a larger Group of you it's worth asking us about the other places and you will all be close to one another.
No Smoking, Just respect this place as you would your own and feel at home. We will be there to meet you and will try to explain everything and wev will also send you a house manual with some more information about everything after you have booked. We have a good relationship with our neighbours so please respect the 'cisza nocna' between 10pm and 6am ( be a bit quieter basically ). Anything you find in the fridge or cupboards is there for you as well and the dvds or books are there for your entertainment ( but leave them behind for the next guests please ! )
Wow, ! is all I can say . Jan was great! My own family might not have been as attentive as he was. Warsaw was great and so were our Accomodations.
The Apartment is really nice. Tidy, clean and cosy. Plus it's located perfectly for any Warsaw Tourist - right beneath king's Castle (you get a glimpse of it from the Window even). And though it's located at such a central place it's very quiet.
Jan was very helpful and friendly. Helped us with everything.
Thanks for a great stay. We'd love to come Back.

We were 4 people staying in the appartement over a week end and were really pleased with our stay. The appartment was enjoyable, clean and comfortable and the location was great. Our host Jan was very nice and helpful. I can really recommend this appartement!
Great apartment and a very friendly host!
We really enjoyed staying in this great apartment in Warsaw old city. The apartment itself is very clean and comfortable. The host was so friendly and left some cookies and milk in the fridge, which turned out very useful for us, as we arrived late and tired with two hungry children with us.
Thank you, Jan! We will certainly come back if we travel to Warsaw again!!!
I really enjoyed that apartment. It was spotless and Jan left amenities such as soap , toilet paper , milk , coffee , a dryer, water . It is conveniently located by the buses and tram station. It is at the edge of old town . Jan greeted up to give the keys , arranged taxis for me and my boyfriend to leave at 4:30 am . The place has a queen bed and 2 twin beds , a fully equipped kitchen with fridge , stove , microwave and cutlery . It was a very pleasant relaxing stay. I totally recommend. A home away from home. It was my first experience and I was very pleased. The pictures are accurate . The bathroom had a nice hot shower, there was also great internet and a flat screen TV . I forgot also a microwave and a washing machine. Everything in top shape. Great host attentive to your needs. We communicated by text and email.

About the Host, Jan
Hi my name is Jan , I manage the apartments with my partner Alicja who does most of the managing if I'm honest so it's her that keeps everything spick and span. I do things like meeting and talking our Guests who come from all over the world and giving them the benefit of my 'Warsaw knowledge' ( I've lived here 20 years ) ....but you'll meet us both hopefully !
My English is still good and I will try to answer any questions you may have, not just about the apartment but about things like getting around, places to see, places to eat, clubs etc. etc.
I like to do all the usual things - eat out, read books, travel, watch films and sport but I can boast of being Warsaw's number one Soul Music Fan... I even have a local radio show and once a week you'll hear me playing Otis Redding, the Temptations, Aretha Franklin and all the other greats. Anyone booking a three night stay gets an automatic dedication on the show ( ! )
We hope to see you, it's great to see more and more of you visiting Warsaw and we will try and make your stay even better...there'll always be some snacks waiting in the fridge for you, some maps, some movies to watch on dvd, an umbrella , some books,....little things as well as the usual things you should expect.
We can also help you with local tours or even yoga lessons - anything at all, just ask !
At the moment we have a few properties in our portfolio all based in the same area so if there's a larger group of you looking to stay send me a message what you need and we might be able to help.
Pub pod Barylka - OUR local pub with good Beer and decent grub. You will get a 20% discount here off food and drink bills, you can leave keys and bags here for safekeeping
This is where Marcin our best local guide will pick you up in his old Fiat and take you around Warsaw not in the guide boo(website hidden)om/ recommended !
Home to Warsaw's finest radio programme ( Sunday 19.00pm )
Close by the apartment and as good a place as any as to try Polands national dish ( pierogi of course )
This is the old town of Warsaw and it's only two minutes away up the hill. Go and have a look - It's why you are here !
Very impressed by this new Italian and it's walking distance from the apar(website hidden)caiola.pl to look at the menu
Not haute cuisine but a fun evening out - good atmosphere, mutant portions and humungous flagons of beer. It's close by the Old town and if full go to Mexican next door.
Fairly close by place you can hire a bicycle for the day. Some great routes along the river all the way to Wilanow palace and beyond - we'll help you plan
Nice gallery, more modern in profile than the National Gallery with changing exhibits, check the si(website hidden)pl/
I will explain exact location. Great bar on the river, good DJ's and walking distance from apartment. Fantastic and lively place to hang out and see lights of new Warsaw from river
Warsaw's latest glossy attraction is a modern Science museum. I haven't been been there ( yet ) but the kids have and they all like it. It's close by too.
Nice place to hang out - lively and good music and close by
Down from Old Town to Nowy Swiat is a good walk with plenty to see. You'll be ready for a coffee and a famous doughnut when you reach this Warsaw landmark ( very good breakfasts too )
Well I like 'crate-digging' so I figure some you should do so too - Warsaw's best ( and most cramped ) old vinyl store.
Interesting place to visit - a local food/ flower market in a historical old building . You'll find a lot of local and seasonal produce , Mrs Thatcher once came here shopping.
I usually try and go to at least one gallery when I am in a new City so this is probably the one to see in Warsaw. Recently refurbished, check the site for current exhibitions.
Uncle Joe's gift to Poland is a like it or hate it landmark. Well I quite like it and you should try and get to the top. It's close to the big Mall and the Main RailwayStation for your Krakow tickets.
This place is higher end but has a good bar and nice food. There is also a very interesting 'smoking capsule' which I haven't seen in Warsaw before.
OK I shouldn't really recommend a mall but it's raining.. there's a cinema, loads of shops, food court, the designs quite cool..it's all here
(website hidden)com, lots of jazz/music stuff going on so check the site but they have a great Indian restaurant with the most tender chicken in town...really !Emilii Plater Warsaw Mazowieckie 01-001
Looking for English language reading material on your travels ? Worth popping into an American Bookstore and this probably the closest branch to us. Best sellers and classics at a good price.
You should find time to go here and take back just a little of Warsaw's darker history home with you.
My favourite park and one of my favourite places ...it's on every tourist map. Take some nuts to feed red squirrels and blue tits by hand. Sunday there is a Chopin recital ... well worth it.
