You can’t beat the views of Nantucket Harbor when you stay aboard the Cathy Sue, a 1975, 32’ Pacemaker Powerboat! Start your day relaxing on the deck with a coffee and end it watching the sun set with a cocktail!

Enjoy the calming sea breezes of Nantucket’s pristine harbor and take advantage of easy access to the world-class shopping and restaurants of town – for a fraction of the price charged by hotels and inns.

The Cathy Sue is located on a mooring in Nantucket Harbor for the Summer 2017 Season.

The roomy cabin is equipped with a King-sized V-berth (with a custom fit mattress) and a pull-out full-size couch, accommodating up to 4 people.

The galley kitchen a sink with water, a combo cooler/fridge, and a cozy dinette that seats 4 people.

The bathroom of the Cathy Sue is equipped with a head and a small sink. There is no shower. On the dock, there is a well-maintained public shower facility where you can shower (and blow dry your hair!) There is limited water to brush your teeth and do your dishes.

The Cathy Sue has limited electricity. It has solar power that runs the lights and allows you to charge your phones. No hair dryers allowed!

Access to Nantucket town is via water taxi. The water taxi is $5/Per Person, per trip. A 2 Way Radio will be provided to be in contact with the boat taxi.

Staying on the Cathy Sue is not for everyone. This is not a luxurious yacht. It is a 40-year-old boat. Staying on the water is much like camping and for those who enjoy rustic experiences will love the Cathy Sue. Nantucket is an expensive place to visit, and the Cathy Sue offers an opportunity for those who love the ocean and do not require the amenities of a hotel to visit the island for a fraction of the price.

The boat may not be taken off her mooring.

The owners are available for any questions on arrival, however, you may go directly to the boat on arrival on your own.

There are buses to all of the beaches from town, including the Cisco Brewery, Madaket Millies, and Surfside Beach. We also recommend renting bikes in town to visit Sconset, Madaket and the Cisco Brewery.

If you like camping, and the water, and a relaxed pace, this is the place for you! Comfortable and charming, it was the perfect get-away. I was on my own and felt safe and relaxed... being on the water is magical. Cara is a great host, I will be going back!

Three us of stayed 2 nights on Cara's boat for my friend's 40th birthday. My friend reported it was the best part of her trip. Overall, for us Texas who haven't spent much time on boats that aren't pontoons, it was pretty magical. The listing and photos are fairly accurate. We used the shower facilities on the Straight Wharf without complaint. Water taxi and 2-way radio are easy to figure out. Two tips for those coming to stay are 1) bring your own charger that fits in cigarette lighter socket! 2) As it is an old, fixer-upper boat on the water, it is moldy (allergy sufferers beware). Can't beat the breeze or beautiful sunsets!

Awesome option if looking for something a little cheaper. It's a boat, sonic you're cool with that, it works very well!

My son And I had an amazing time on the Cathy Sue. We enjoyed relaxing on the boat, biking around the island, and enjoying some of our favorite restaurants. We had everything we needed on the boat. Cara was an awesome host. She was flexible with our arrival/departure and provided a cooler full of cold drinks and some great snacks. We would highly recommend staying here:)

This was one of the coolest places I have ever stayed. The boat itself was clean and comfortable, and provided space for creative thought, reflection, and respite. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful - not only in terms of getting me set up on the boat but also helping acclimate me to Nantucket. The public showers are pristine and easily accessible, and I was able to walk everywhere from this location. Overall, my time on the island was quite magical and I have no doubt that the Cathy Sue was a big part of that magic! So much more interesting and adventurous than any hotel I might have stayed at. I plan on jumping back aboard the boat as soon as possible.

I am a graphic designer, I own a graphic design company, Marquis Creative on Nantucket. I manage the Cathy Sue rentals, however the boat is owned by my husband, Jim Mondani who runs Island Boat Rental on Nantucket.
