Behind our family home, in a lush field of green behind a trout pond, is a cozy cottage with its own half bath; fully-equipped kitchen with microwave; living room with fireplace; air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed; and broad veranda with sofa and a Weber grill.
There is a deeded right of way down to the beach on Lake Erie and a world-class Italian restaurant (Peppino's) half a block away.
To get around Fairview's wide open spaces you will need your own car, but Presque Isle, Waldameer Amusement Park, Splash Lagoon, and the City of Erie are just minutes away.
The Erie-area is beautiful and full of fun during the summer.
There are frequent (and free) musical events and festivals, to say nothing of world-class fishing in Walnut Creek, about a five-minute walk north.
There is a large pond just south of the home (and adjacent to the main house, where host's family lives). In the summer evenings, we feed the koi and listen to the bullfrogs as the sun goes down. The fireflies are everywhere. A little Skin So Soft takes care of the mosquitos - and . . . life is good.
Have fun within the bounds of the law. No fireworks. No illegal drugs. This is a quiet, peaceful place. Expect to hear only the sound of crickets and pond critters at night. If you like peace and quiet, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a place to blast heavy metal and shriek while playing air guitar, this ain't it. House-trained dogs are welcome, so long as they play well with other dogs and humans - ask us about this before your book, if you intend to bring a pit bull or Argentine dogo.
My wife and I live in a historic arts and crafts estate in rural Pa with the most beautiful nature you can imagine surrounding us. Our homes are on top of a rolling hill. I am a lawyer and she is a busy mom. Our home is in walking distance to beach and lake and romantic restaurants. We enjoy feeding the fish in our backyard pond. We have mainly lived in major cities around the world so this rural life is new to us but we love it.
Our home has a big pond in the back, full of fish and frogs. We love to feed them in the evening.
