Dog friendly, we are probably the most peaceful, private, remote and spacious holiday rental on Dartmoor. Footpaths stretch in every direction, north, south, east and west direct onto the moor from just outside our garden gate. Despite this we are easily accessible, just down the road from Princetown (although our weather is better!), 20 minutes from the A38 and 1/2 a mile from the pub at the end of our private lane.
We believe we are also the only central Dartmoor residence to boast an outdoor hot tub!
We have five comfortable bedrooms and sleep 10+ easily, but can only offer a minimum full week's rental at a time, at £2500pw, because a full rental means our little family has to move out of our home, lock, stock and barrel!
We are located in the stunning Swincombe valley, with the beautiful river and its three sets of stepping stones winding through the valley just below us, down to the East Dart teeming with trout and salmon. We are lucky enough to be located at the spot in Dartmoor where even people who actually live on the moor choose to come to, to celebrate their most special occasions!
We offer every luxury and our house is very comfortable. Being a family home, every room oozes individuality, personality and character. All three spacious en-suite rooms are light and bright, with large double-aspect windows looking out through the trees over the moor, comfortable beds, 100% Egyptian bed-linen, fluffy towels etc All have deep pile carpets, even the bathrooms, each of which has a proper bath, and most have interlined curtains, cushioned window seats and a real fireplace.
We have a cosy sitting room with piano, squashy sofa, and real fire, a sunroom with all the hi-fi you can think of, everything from boom-box, to karaoke, even a turntable and a wind-up gramophone! There is an elegant dining room for celebrations, and outside there is an acre of garden, a teen-room with ping-pong table, a trampoline, and children's bicycles.
For the less able-bodied, it is possible to push a proper pram, or wheelchair, along a private tarmac path, nearly two miles in total wilderness along the bank of the River Swincombe, up to the little dam and reservoir at its source. Almost surreal!
At Wydemeet you are guaranteed to escape from the stresses of the real world, whether you are walking, fishing, cycling or riding, or simply relaxing in the jacuzzi under the stars!
All we ask is that you enjoy yourselves!

Fabulous in every way - looks, personality, brains and general charisma. What are the five things I can't live without? Attention, praise, respect and general all-round adoration.
My life motto? No regrets. Although I have one or two. Maybe just the one.
