About this listing
Our room with private bathroom has a HUGE very comfortable bed. The bed measures 180/200cm with a sprung mattress and memory foam topper new as of Jan 2014. The bath has a freestanding roll top bath and the bubble bath required to go with it!
We have a three bedroom house just a short walk from Kennington tube station where you get access to both branches of the northern line. Providing excellent transport links to Waterloo, Kings Cross and the International Rail station St Pancras. There are also bus's that go just about anywhere in London from the Walworth road (three minute walk). If you are here to see Parliament and The London Eye you can walk there and stop for a bite on the Southbank. There are three rooms available this room is a double on the first floor with dresser and coat hangers for hanging clothes.
Lovely garden and patio area. The house is back from any roads so there is no traffic noise :) If you require meals this can be arranged, there will be breakfast cereal, bread for toast, jams, eggs etc available in the morning. Feel free to help yourself to teas and coffee.
There is an en-suite bathroom in this room.
There is an A-Z in the room to help you find your way about. We are happy to show you the local pub which has an excellent wine list and great menu all at a good price.
Also Parking can be arranged for an additional £10 a day notice required.
We love to meet new people and socialize however sometimes we can be busy with our work and study. We do like to travel ourselves and may on occasion be out of town but always contactable, with friends nearby if required. When we are around we do pride ourselves on our friendly Scottish hospitality and do strive to make your stay feel as close to home as possible.
Kathryn and Ben
This is your home while travelling and you should treat it as such :)
You will have full access to the kitchen and livingroom while you visit. Bens room is off the livingroom so we tend to move to the kitchen to keep talking after 10pm on weeknights.
Interaction with Guests
If i am in town i am always up for a chat etc however sometimes i have a paper due and can be busy. I work full time as a firefighter and i am studying part time for my masters so sometimes its hectic but most of the time i like a good chat. I would like to say though that it is not a hotel and its our home so the experience is very different to that of a hotel. I will try and help you in any way i can but i dont make a very good concierge. There are lots of leaflets and ideas for things to do in London on the table in the kitchen.
There is a street market and lots of great local pubs that do fabulous food.
This is perhaps the best neighbourhood in London for accessing the rest of London. There are good transport links for all of London including tube and buses.
There is no smoking in the house but we have a lovely area outside in the garden with table and chairs where that we ask you to smoke instead.
Other than that we are very easy going and ask only that you clean up after yourself if you use the kitchen, we have a dishwasher to make that easier :)
Gerne wieder
Kathryn was the best AirBnB host I've had. She made me feel at home by welcoming me with tea and coffee options as well as producing many breakfast options in her kitchen. The room was exactly as pictured and very cozy. It was located about a five min. Walk from the tube and in a quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend you stay with Kaytlin, you might not even realize you've left your own home. I would love to stay with her again if I come back to London.
I had a great stay in Kathryn's home. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bubble bath was a wonderfully relaxing way to end the day. The location of the house was very convenient- just a short walk to the train station through a friendly neighborhood. Kathryn was very friendly, hospitable and attentive to making sure all my needs were met. Definitely would stay here again next time I make it back to London!
Kathryn was an amazing host. Had a wonderful stay and made a new friend. Thank you Kathryn! See you in Australia.
We have had a wonderful time!
The location is great, Kennington tube station is a 5 minute walk and takes you everywhere in notime, the buses are also nearby and a great way to see the surroundings. Kathryn is a lovely host. We will definitely go back next time we visit London.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we loved it!
Kathryn was away when we arrived but her directions and instructions were spot on. Her house is welcoming and homely, the bed was really comfy. It felt like a home away from home. The location was excellent, a short walk to some decent pubs and restaurants and it was close enough to the city on foot or by tube. We had a great stay at Kathryn's and hope to be back!
Kathryn made us feel home from the very first second. The key was in the deposit, easy to find. Everything there, even a adapter for electricity for laptop and phones. Fresh towels, shampoo and shower-gels. We never took breakfast in the house, but everything was there to have a huge breakfast. Just everything PERFECT!
The room was very cosy and we slept very good in the huge and comfortable bed. The stations (tube and bus)are very near, just about 10 minutes walk and from there, we went very quickly in the inner city of London. We met Kathryn just once after her work. But even when she was tired of work, she wanted to be sure, everything was ok and told us, to ask her everything we wanted to know. She gave very good recommendations and every question has been answered.
The whole house and our room was very clean! Everything there, no wishes open! The description from the station to her house is very good made and we found it in the first step. The place is very quiet. It`s wonderful to leave the crowded and loud city behind and get "home" in this quiet place and get a good sleep. It`s unbelievable how near the city and how quiet the place! We like to recommend Kathryn`s house and would love to return next time when we stay for a few days in London. Everything is exactly how the description, maybe even better!! Thank you for everything Kathryn.
