Our room with private bathroom has a HUGE very comfortable bed. The bed measures 180/200cm with a sprung mattress and memory foam topper new as of Jan 2014. The bath has a freestanding roll top bath and the bubble bath required to go with it!
We have a three bedroom house just a short walk from Kennington tube station where you get access to both branches of the northern line. Providing excellent transport links to Waterloo, Kings Cross and the International Rail station St Pancras. There are also bus's that go just about anywhere in London from the Walworth road (three minute walk). If you are here to see Parliament and The London Eye you can walk there and stop for a bite on the Southbank. There are three rooms available this room is a double on the first floor with dresser and coat hangers for hanging clothes.
Lovely garden and patio area. The house is back from any roads so there is no traffic noise :) If you require meals this can be arranged, there will be breakfast cereal, bread for toast, jams, eggs etc available in the morning. Feel free to help yourself to teas and coffee.
There is an en-suite bathroom in this room.
There is an A-Z in the room to help you find your way about. We are happy to show you the local pub which has an excellent wine list and great menu all at a good price.
Also Parking can be arranged for an additional £10 a day notice required.
We love to meet new people and socialize however sometimes we can be busy with our work and study. We do like to travel ourselves and may on occasion be out of town but always contactable, with friends nearby if required. When we are around we do pride ourselves on our friendly Scottish/Irish hospitality and do strive to make your stay feel as close to home as possible.

This is your home while travelling and you should treat it as such :)
You will have full access to the kitchen and livingroom while you visit. Bens room is off the livingroom so we tend to move to the kitchen to keep talking after 10pm on weeknights.
If i am in town i am always up for a chat etc however sometimes i have a paper due and can be busy. I work full time as a firefighter and i am studying part time for my masters so sometimes its hectic but most of the time i like a good chat. I would like to say though that it is not a hotel and its our home so the experience is very different to that of a hotel. I will try and help you in any way i can but i dont make a very good concierge. There are lots of leaflets and ideas for things to do in London on the table in the kitchen.
There is a street market and lots of great local pubs that do fabulous food.
This is perhaps the best neighbourhood in London for accessing the rest of London. There are good transport links for all of London including tube and buses.
Warm and cosy welcome and accommodation to match! Kathryn and Ben were great hosts making us feel very welcome and the room and en-suite were both attractive and clean. Close to transport links in quiet location - we would definitely recommend it to anyone needing to stay close to attractions in London.
Excellent access to subway (5 min walk) and easy 30 min walk to downtown. Be sure to do a (website hidden) street view walk from the Kennington subway station to Marsland Close so you know what the route looks like.
Bedroom with own bath is very large and bed is super comfortable. Micro-sink in bathroom has no mirror above it which can make shaving a little tricky and tub is better suited to baths than showers.
Good location near underground. I and my little son used nice bed with its own bathroom. warm and comfortable. mostly spend time outside but still, once we come back home, feels so comfortable!!
The bedroom and en-suite were lovely (the shower in particular was fabulous). The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. Kathryn provided us with cereals, bread, spreads, coffee and tea. The underground station was about 10 minute walk from the house, which made it easy to get around.
I foolishly assumed that I would be able to find the house using (website hidden) maps, but ended up walking around the estate for about 30 minutes. So make sure you follow Kathryn's instructions and have her phone number on your mobile phone just in case you get lost!
Kathryn is a terrific host and a wonderful person! I had a great time at her place exploring London by day and chatting and drinking with Kathryn and her roommate at night. As a solo traveler, their hospitality and kindness made London a terrific experience for me. Also, Kathryn's home is lovely and the private room is spacious with a terrific tub and a brand new bed that is incredibly comfortable...what more could you ask for after walking around all day exploring London? I highly recommend staying at Kathryn's place!
We had a really nice stay at Kathryn's for New Year's Eve. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures, big and very comfortable. We had a lot of space and it is very practical to have your own bathroom ! The house as a whole is lovely, and our hosts were really nice. We really enjoyed talking with Ben & Kathryn, who also gave us a lot of tips on restaurants where to go, or on transportation in London. The location is perfect for a weekend, you can really get anywhere in London very easily thanks to the underground and the numerous buses.
The apartment was nice and the bed huge and comfortable. It is close to a metro station with access to the northern line, really convenient for a tourist trip.
Full access to the kitchen and a private bathroom.
Kathryn and Ben made us feel at home, thank you!
We had a short but very nice stay at Kat's. The room was nice and the bed very comfy. We didn't meet Kathrin, but she made sure we had everything we needed by calling us every now and then. The house is well located and the connection to the city center is great. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Thank you Katherine! Eliza&Mia
Liked the convenient neighborhood and the lovely room. We had the use of the kitchen which was very nice and there was always enough breakfast to get started. Only met Kathryn briefly and she was helpful then as she was before we arrived with directions and giving us her cell phone number in case of questions. A nice experience.
Too bad we've not had a chance to meet Kathryn, but we had a great stay at her place anyway. It was clean, had everything you need for a short stay, the location is very accessible. We appreciated being able to have a light breakfast because I don't think there are any places you could go eat in the morning nearby. Private bathroom was definitely a plus. I would recommend staying there to anyone who only needs a good value place to sleep.
