Room in a farm stay

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape to a unique working farm in Scotts, Michigan. Formerly a master bedroom, the Cherry Room is our largest room, with the capacity to house up to four people. It has two queen beds, a large walk-in shower, a double sink, and a deck overlooking the farm. The room offers a working fireplace. Breakfast is not offered at this time but there is a nice little cafe about 1 mile away in Scotts, Mi.

The space
Tillers International is a non-profit organization that leads in teaching essential homesteading skills. Our offerings include toolmaking, timber framing, woodworking, coopering, and blacksmithing.

Whether you’re here for a workshop or a peaceful rural retreat, the farm offers a quiet place to unwind and reconnect. And if you’re taking one of our multi-day classes, you’re eligible for 10% off your class when you also book a stay with us. Just ask us about our Lodging + Class Bundle.

The Farm centers around a 1980's stone farm house with five spacious private bedrooms. From the farmhouse, you can stroll or bike around 220 acres of fields and trails, or go down through the woods to the pond filled with wildlife, all on the property. Down at the barn you can visit with our cows, oxen, donkeys and horses.

Guest access
Guests have access to the kitchen, dining room, library, laundry room, and shared restrooms. The library and living room are available for guest use after 5:00 pm. Please note that staff and students may also use the kitchen for lunch on days they are on-site, so we kindly ask for your cooperation in sharing the space.

During your stay
Cooks Mill Manor is located on the grounds of Tillers International, a small nonprofit organization dedicated to traditional skills and sustainable farming. Throughout the week—and occasionally on weekends—you may encounter staff, students, or community members gathering in the kitchen, working in our shops or tending to the farm. Their presence adds to the unique, welcoming atmosphere of the property, and they’re always happy to share a smile or a story.

Other things to note
Tillers International is an active agricultural operation where guests are welcome to responsibly interact with our animals, but only under the guidance and supervision of our caretakers. We do not have air conditioning but there are ceiling fans and stand fans.
