Aurea was waiting in the apartment upon my arrival, and even had someone waiting to carry up my luggage. She was very friendly and welcoming, and showed me around the apartment and how to use everything. There was even fresh watermelon and drinks waiting for us in the fridge, which was a nice surprise on a warm day! She stayed in touch during our stay, and made sure we had everything we needed.
The apartment is in an ideal spot- we loved the location. It was an easy walk to the beach, and there are lots of nice restaurants and shops in El Born. It also was easy to get around to all the other sights we wanted to see.
As for the apartment itself, it is small but functional. Given we were there in July, it was a bit warm, but the fans definitely helped. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the apartment, so just be prepared for the walk up! Even so, it was really nice having the rooftop terrace just above the apartment. The only issue we had was some spotty wifi, but we didn't have too much of a problem since there are free wi-fi spots around Barcelona and in most cafes. Aurea was a great host, and the apartment is in a perfect spot, so I would recommend it to others!
This apartment is rather deceiving. It was rather small and very hot. Ines was lovely and very welcoming. The location is perfect. Overall though the apartment was too small, hot and dark.
We had a wonderful holiday in Barcelona. On arrival we were welcomed by Aurea. She was very friendly and left us some fresh fruits and cold drinks which was a warm welcome in such a hot weather. She made us feel at home and gave us some more information about Barcelona (things to see, places where we could eat, ...). Even during our stay she staid in contact with us via Whatsapp, she really cared about us and would do anything to help us. Also she called a taxi for us to get to the airport. The appartement is small but very cosy. Everything you need is there. A great advantage is the spacious terrace above the appartement; perfect for a last glass of wine in the evening. When we were in Barcelona the weather was extremely hot but thanks to the 2 fans we could get some cooling down. The appartement is situated in El Born, a very beautiful area of Barcelona and close to the beach, La Rambla and other great things. Everything is easily accessible by foot or metro.
Thank you again Aurea,
Jasmin and Maarten
Àurea is an excellent host! Since there are some stairs in this typical Spanish apartment she arranged some help to carry up our luggage. We were welcomed with cold drinks and fresh cherries and, luckily, two large fans for the heat. Àurea explained how everything worked and showed us around. There is a spacious roof terrace, great for late night board games and a glass of Rioja! The flat itself is small but functional and situated in El Born, only a 10-15 min walk from the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby and easy acces to the metro to discover the rest of the city.
Hi, Milan & Alexandra,
Well, what can be said about you that not be praise and more praise!
It has been great to have you in our apartment!, you have left just fantastic memories.
Apart from exquisite education and kindness we appreciate the detail of having left the apartment super clean and tidy, and what a good energy you have both!
Most of the hosts should have the luck that we had: have you, both, at home... because you are simply WONDERFUL!!! see you soon! Cristal and Àurea
We are generally easy to please, but this apartment left a few things to be desired. Pros: location & terrace. Cons: it is very warm, even with two fans there is not much circulation. The bathroom floods into the kitchen when you shower, the host told us to mop after we showered. Very tight quarters. Several things felt rundown, broken fridge, bed, very dirty floors. Simple and rustic accommodations. Mixed feelings about the host, we were locked out on the terrace, she responded, but was quite rude. The stairs are intense, so you can't just pop in and out... When you get down you don't want to have to go back up unless you're going to stay. We'd find something else when returning to Barcelona, hoping for more comfort next time.
Well, Eriika, after several positive evaluations on me and the apartment (that everyone knows that it is small and that we indicate in the information), it is very difficult that people give you credibility.
First: all your negative comment is why I asked that you had to pay the damage that you have provoken on the door (security door made of noble wood) main side frame that forces me to change it
Second: you left all echo a disgusting, from oil stains, towels and sheets lying on the ground to broken dishes
Third: you lost the keys to the roof, saying that there were inside the apartment and after a few days you commented that you had taken yourself in your backpack...
You have been the first person (and I hope the last) that have had a very offensive behavior
For me it is very difficult to be so harsh with the words because I don't have the slightest intention of harming anyone. My motto is "live and let to live", but unfortunately I am forced to tell you that you're not good kind person: you are cynical, deceitful, dirty, disorganized and an actress of first line. I think that you could be a great professional with excellent hability to interpret a good guest
Gentlemen hosts, be careful, your apartment could be the next!
It is a lovely little apartment in the best part of Barcelona,be prepared to walk up the stairs but it is worth it for the rooftop terrace located above the place.
The host was lovely warm and greeting.I recommend staying here and I would go back.
Mr Lucas, I'd like to clarify that these photos were made by a photographer from airbnb. I don't think that airbnb has the minimum intention to deceive anyone.
Also tell that in the photos looks good clear that the shower is small. It is obvious that a large shower could not exist in an apartment of 40 m2. The description says is 40 m2 (divided between: kitchen, toilet, open plan room with beds...)
On cleaning: so far no one has complained about cleaning (SEULEMENT VOUS). In all past evaluations there are no complaints. Now well, Born is, today, the most popular area visited by people educated, “cultivé”, etc.
Try to find a price low in the Born and also requiring 5-star service is to be a daydreaming! That does not exist, mister Lucas, neither here nor in Paris!
