The Dingle peninsula is rich in Archaeological site locations.
There are 35 known sites registered with the Archaeological Survey of Ireland in the valley of Gleann Na nGealt alone.
Historic Tobar na nGealt is located here in the valley.
We have a number of Archaeological sites on the Farm these include 2 Ringforts, a Souterrain and a Gallaun or standing stone.
These sites were protected by the respect and esteem our ancestors held for the past and superstitious belief associated with bad luck resulting from interference with the properties of the Fairies or Little people as they were sometimes called.

Please see my previous review below!
My husband and I spent two nights with Brigid near the end of our 3 week vacation in Scotland and Ireland. We booked this room many months in advance as we were looking for a more unique experience and the idea of staying on a sheep farm grabbed our attention. Little did we know our excitement would continually build during our trip, since the sheep were plentiful in the Scottish and Irish countryside during our drives and we could never get up close to meet them.
Brigid gives fantastic directions, her farm was very easy to find. Upon our arrival we had tea and a lovely apple crisp and learned more about her and her family. The room and bed are very comfortable and what you would expect from an older farm cottage. Our tea and toast breakfast were delicious, but it was our conversations with Brigid that were one the highlights of this visit. Other highlights included our evening walks up into the fields with the sheep! What an experience!! Her pet lamb, Millie was ADORABLE and such a 'ham'. We took amazing pictures with her and even fed her a bottle before our departure. Upon Brigid's recommendation we also drove Conors pass down into Dingle, which was gorgeous. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in the Dingle Peninsula! We highly recommend for travelers looking for an authentic Irish experience.
We had the best time at Brigid and Liam's. Brigid was so warm and friendly it felt like home. The bed was super comfy just what you need after a big day out. She gave us great advice for the things to see in Dingle. Music up at the railway hotel in Camp on Sunday night was another highlight for us.
Very nice days around Dingle peninsula! Well located, quiet, comfort and respectfull host! Brigid give good advises about the county, interesting and cook good banana bread!!
Brigid was a delightful welcoming hostest, greeting us with a pot of tea and delicious apple pie. In the morning we enjoyed a filling and delicious Irish breakfast. Best eggs ever! Oh, and homemade banana bread! We enjoyed Brigid's stories and histories of the area. - especially of the well with the delicious waters that cure 'madness'! We also enjoyed the company of her friend, Vincent, who took us on a hike on Brigid's farm to see an ancient Ring Fort as well as several nearby standing stones - well, one was actually no longer standing but just as interesting! One of the highlights was Millie, the pet lamb, and Brigid let me feed her! She was adorable! We would definitely go back and stay again!
Staying with Brigid was excellent! She's a great host, with a lovely home, beautiful area. We enjoyed a great Irish breakfast, as well as some lovely banana bread while we were there. Brigid was helpful in telling us more about the area. We loved petting Millie, the lamb, and taking a walk in the valley.
We had a very nice stay. The house is well located to discover the beautiful Dingle peninsula. Brigid is very sweet. She was a perfect host. The welcome was warm, the landscapes are amazing and the breakfast was good. The sheeps are very cute.
I would absolutely recommend a stay at Brigid's.
Nous avons fait une très belle découverte et nous y retournerons sans hésitation !
