Just a little more information about Archaeological Sites in the area.
The Dingle peninsula is rich in Archaeological site locations.
There are 35 known sites registered with the Archaeological Survey of Ireland in the valley of Gleann Na nGealt alone.
Historic Tobar na nGealt is located here in the valley.
We have a number of Archaeological sites on the Farm these include 2 Ringforts, a Souterrain and a Gallaun or standing stone.
These sites were protected by the respect and esteem our ancestors held for the past and superstitious belief associated with bad luck resulting from interference with the properties of the Fairies or Little people as they were sometimes called.

Brigid was a fantastic host. She was so warm and welcoming, fed us to our hearts content, and even walked us through her farm to see her sheeps. We loved her stories and enjoyed listening to her perspective of how Ireland has evolved. She had great suggestions of places to go and visit, and we were amazed by each of the sights. Her sheep farm was a place of rest, refreshing conversation, and peace.
If you're still reading this review and have t signed up to stay with her, don't be foolish--do it!! You will not regret it.
The farm, Brigid and everything else was exacly as expected from reading earlier reviews! Brigid is such a nice person who seems to honestly enjoy company and talking about Ireland, the farm, the sheep, own experiences and so much more. It was also my pleasure to meet her friend Vincent who even gave me some homemade jam as a present. All in all a great place to start discovering Kerry and the beautiful Southwest of Ireland! Highly recommended!!!
Quiet, lovely place in the middle of a valley. Far out of the way, but gorgeous scenery. Brigid was a lovely hostess with excellent breakfast and easy going manner. No frills farmhouse, but perfect for us. Thanks, Brigid.
We absolutely loved staying with Brigid and Liam at the sheep farm. It was a lot easier to find than we had anticipated -- Brigid left excellent directions on the Airbnb site. Brigid was warm, generous and friendly. She made us a full Irish breakfast in her comfortable kitchen. We really enjoyed hearing her stories about growing up on the farm, the changes she's seen in Ireland in her lifetime, and about her growing family in Ireland and in the US. We walked the farm and communed with the sheep and the landscape. She directed us to the beach, which was deserted and a beautiful place to watch the sun set.
Brigid couldn't host me, but she organised another B&B for me, so there was no problem for me at all. I'd come back, to either place.
Brigid was wonderful! We had a lovely stay in her home, and it was a treat to be introduced to a few of her sheep--Pedro is so sweet! The house is lovely, and surrounding countryside is just gorgeous.
We had a very nice two night stay with Birgid and her sheep. She had a bananabread in the oven and happily shared it with us. We took a small walk up the hill to the sheep and witnessed a beautiful sunset. We had nice chats with her and she gave us tips of what to see on our trip. Everything was fine, nothing to complain.
We had the most wonderful stay with Brigid. The house is located in the valley and is a quiet, cozy accommodation. We kept delaying our arrival time and Brigid was unbelievably friendly about it and even had an amazing Irish breakfast ready for us the next morning. If you're planning on visiting Dingle, Brigid is in the perfect location - about 30 minutes drive and a wonderful tour of Connor pass away. Absolutely worth the visit!
All was perfect, very easy to find thanks to Brigid's indications. She welcomed us with a very tasty crumble and cooked us a delicious breakfast ! I would definitely recommend.
brigid was such a wonderful host!!!! we both felt so lucky to be invited into her home and she made sure to take great care of us. it's such a beautiful area and a lovely home. we were so happy to spend time talking and having tea with brigid. and of course meeting her sheep and especially pedro. what a wonderful stay :)
