I'm sorry that you had problems with the internet, following your review we ordered hardware to enhance the wifi signal inside the house. If you come back I assure you that there will be no problems of internet line. Greetings, Valentina
Absolutely picturesque setting and the pictures do not do it justice. Both houses are very clean, well appointed and the views are absolutely stunning. Well manicured grounds just adds to the experience. Valentina was a very gracious host and took great care of us.
Valentina's villa is so much better than the pictures show. The main farmhouse is beautifully refurbished and comfortably sleeps 8 in private rooms with 4 more on pullouts. Plenty of indoor gathering space on both floors. With the cottage (25 feet way), it was perfect for 4 families (2 adults and 2 kids each). The yard is huge and varied (grass, trees, hills, trails): the kids and dog could play all day, and it is completely fenced in. It's secluded, but only takes about 7 or 8 minutes to drive down to the town on dirt roads, and 15 minutes to Cortona. Having 3 full kitchens was key with so many different family needs. The views are breathtaking. Nice hiking trails all around. Valentina and her father were great hosts, and cheerfully got us everything we needed. This is the perfect Tuscan villa. Sad we could only stay 3 days.
Our stay at Casa Contea was perhaps the best part of our visit to Tuscany. The photos accurately represent the property, in fact the vistas are far better in person. Terantola is a great town from which to base your travels of Tuscany and Umbria. Montepulciano is only 30 minutes away and Cortona is a short 10 minute drive. Our hosts were most helpful with tips for groceries, sightseeing and restos; and were very responsive when needed. We have used Airbnb several times before and this was a perfect experience (esp. the sightings of wild boar and foxes).
The only thing to be aware of is that a car is required to access this 'mountain top' property.
We'll be back!
