We had the most memorable time at this most beautiful place ; what a treat to have a hot outdoor shower and the view from the deck was fantastic. The room was very nice and very quiet. John and Ann are gracious hosts and wonderful people besides. Hopefully when we return , they will still offer this beautiful room.
Buitendouche is leuk. Uitzicht vanaf terras prachtig. Ann&John zijn leuke gastvrouw en heer.
Ann and John were open and engaging. we were immediately comfortable at their home. Ann even took us to catch the ferry. We exchanged laughs and experiences around the fire. The cottage was perfect, the outdoor shower invigorating, and Bilboe the dog a delight. The views off the deck breathtaking, and our visit over to the prison a hoot!. We would go back anytime, And probably will
My boyfriend and I stayed at Ann's cottage this past weekend for two nights. Prior to confirming my reservation I had to clarify with Ann why there was a sudden increase in the total cost of the reservations-Ann did explain that weekends usually cost a bit more, which I was unaware of and don't recall reading that in the post. After that unexpected increase and AirBnB's processing fees, we still decided to make the reservations. We arrived earlier than expected and Ann greeted us, showed us the deck (beautiful view just like the pictures), showed us the fire pit, and led us to the cottage in the back. The space was perfectly fine for two people. The outdoor shower was very adventurous! Not quite sure how the weather is on a daily basis in San Quentin but we passed up on the early morning showers because it was cloudy and cold outside!! Afternoon shower was much more pleasant. Keep that in mind. My boyfriend was not a fan of the bed-the comfort wasn't to his liking, but I didn't mind it. Other than that, Ann provided goodies such as coffee, teas, creamers, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, first aid kit, towels, robes, slippers, chocolates, wine opener & plastic glasses, etc. all very thoughtful! Oh, there is another room on this property that is also available to rent. It's a master suite-just in case you prefer an indoor shower. The deck is a shared space. Overall, a pleasant stay. My BF even heard the horses in the field behind the cottage on the second morning. My only regret is not enjoying the deck or the small beach across the street! We had a busy weekend with a hike to the Palomarin Trail to see the tide fall, a sunset sail from Sausalito, and a visit to Alcatraz. Thank you Ann, John, and Bilbo.
As cliche as it sounds, words honestly cannot describe staying at Ann & John's private cottage. The cottage was very bright, clean and cozy. Great amenities, stunning surroundings, comfortable bed, and don't even get us started on the outdoor shower! That was such a unique and wonderful experience. Adjusting back to indoor showers hasn't been easy since being spoiled by that. The most relaxed we have felt in a long time was sitting on the deck overlooking the gorgeous sunny Bay, chatting with Ann & John, enjoying a bottle of wine, and watching Bilbo search for hidden treats :) We had an activity packed trip, and weren't able to spend as much time "hanging out" as we would have liked...all the more reason to come back ASAP! Do not hesitate any longer on where to stay, this is THE choice to make!
