Interaction with Guests
The space is completely self-sufficient, with its own entrance. You may never see us after you check in, however we always welcome a hello. It is, however, a part of our home, so we ask you to respect the space and our neighbors. With thanks.
We are at the magic spot where the Castro, NOPA, Buena Vista Park, the lower- and upper-Haight, and Duboce Park meet. With its village feel, it offers restaurants from fine to basic, cafes, markets and corner stores, live music venues, and small independent stores where you'll find treasures from jewelry to shoes to home decor.
Public parking is the best way to get around San Francisco, and we are centrally located to transit heading north/south, and east/west. Parking your car in SF is not an easy task in any neighborhood, so if you must bring a car, please understand that you will have to move it around during your stay (and we can guide you through it, see below). Parking is not provided.
PARKING: PLEASE READ
Parking is available, but time-restricted to two hours (weekdays between 8a and 9p) in our neighborhood. If you need a car in SF there are a few options: park in a garage @$4/hour (around $30 day), move it every two hours, or we can direct you to our secret spot (a 5-10 minute walk) where you can leave it for up to 3 days, except on the one day per week that streets are cleaned. Then enjoy the city via bus/train/trolley (all within 5 minutes) and on foot.
Getting here from the airport is easy via taxi, shuttle, or public transit, and is detailed on your reservation confirmation.
Other Things to Note
We provide you with coffee, tea, and a few breakfast items to get you through your first morning. Markets are many and close by. There is a binder filled with tips on restaurants, shopping, activities and amenities nearby and around the city.
Welcome to our home. We're delighted to host you, answer your questions, make you feel comfortable, and fill you in on our favorite places to eat, shop, hike, and explore in San Francisco.
We are Saundra (mom) and Griffin (son, 18). We live and work upstairs and in the rooms behind the studio. We love to get to know our guests, so feel free to tell us more about yourselves and your travels while you're here, and let us know how we can help you.
We ask you to keep drinking reasonable, music and conversation unobtrusive, refrain from smoking in the house and front entry, no pets in the studio, and outside guests limited to pick-ups and drop-offs. Sorry, no laundry privileges, however we can recommend the best dry cleaner and laundromats in the neighborhood.
And please, if you are late in arriving, please let us know so we don't wait around for you. With thanks.
Saundra is the perfect host, generous with her time and knowledge of the Bay Area. A true Airbnb great. The apartment is in a fantastic location with many great bars and restaurants only a few moments walk away. Highly recommend.
This place and our lovely host was a dream. We felt so welcome and the room was fantastic. Exactly what we were looking for. Saundra was wonderfully helpful but never intrusive. The area was amazing we would stay there again in a heart beat!
We had a fabulous stay at Saundra's Urban Nest! Our daughter lives in the nearby neighborhood of Alamo Square, and the location was perfect for my husband and I to walk to and fro meeting up in the surrounding neighborhoods. Saundra was extremely friendly and helpful in meeting up with us initially and providing recommendations for things to do, she even put some nice flowers at the door for Mother's Day! In terms of the studio - it looks just as pictured. Very modern and clean - the size of the studio is perfect, the bathroom was modern and the kitchenette provided just the right amount of functionality. I definitely recommend staying with Saundra and would love to stay here again on another visit!
Saundra was a very friendly host and this place was quite ideal for our 6-night stay. The space was very neat and clean. The fresh coffee in the room was very much appreciated. Easy access to public transportation was very convenient. We had a really good experience overall!
Fabulous urban studio in a great neighborhood, we absolutely loved the place! The studio was very clean, bright and truly felt like a home away from home. Saundra was a very attentive host and always willing to help in case of questions or requests. The nest is full of guide books and insider tips to make the most out of your stay in the city ;-) I can highly recommend this stylish place and would definitely come back, if I ever visit San Fran again. Thanks for this great experience!
Very stylish studio in a terrific location easy to get to Castro, Lower Haight and more. Saundra was great to communicate with and left a starter bit of coffee, fruit, etc and helpful with area suggestions etc. The studio looks exactly like pics. I'm from NY so size of bathroom seemed fine to me -- all the finishes in apartment very high end. Wifi wasn't working great but Saundra is switching carriers so should be fixed -- showed how much she cares about guests! Will definitely stay in area again. It is on a fairly busy street so you can hear traffic noise in apartment but again as a New Yorker nothing dramatic.
The Nest is a great space! Clean, comfortable and stocked with essentials. The location is on point... Close to sights, coffee houses, restaurants and just a short muni or uber ride away from downtown. Also, very safe area. Saundra is a dream host- helpful, available and kind. Aside from the binder she provides with tons of info, she was sure to recommend loads of places where we should go... absolutely wonderful experience. My husband and I would definitely stay again.

About the Host, Saundra
I'm a working artist and mother in addition to hosting travelers. I love all of my jobs and engage in them with passion and dedication. I'm a born host, with a very active life, and welcome people into my home.
My AirBNB experience has been utterly amazing, with guests expressing their gratitude for the environment, warm family atmosphere, engagement and helpfulness, and attention to detail such as breakfast, personal attention, and little luxuries. I believe I gain as much from the experience of hosting as my guests do from staying with us.
Having traveled a fair amount, and stayed in pensiones and B&B's worldwide, I have a sense of what it's like to share someone's home. We are not a hotel, but a family home with lovely and comfortable accommodation and warm, engaged hosts. Welcome to our home.
