About this listing
This spacious and airy room is in the heart of the most exciting area in Santo Domingo: The Colonial Zone. We are a TRUE bed and breakfast in every sense of the word. Each morning we serve a fresh, hot authentic DOMINICAN BREAKFAST with an assortment of fresh squeezed juices, native tea and our country’s finest…café con leche! There is always a 24 hour station equipped with tea, coffee, juice and fresh snacks.
The room is situated with cable TV, WIFI, a powerful ceiling fan, a wardrobe, a chair, and a table. We welcome you to take advantage of the common areas in the house, which includes the spacious living area, kitchen, washing machine and an iron available for your use.
You will never run out of things to do in the Colonial Zone! We are steps away from the stimulating El Conde street, restaurants, bars, clubs, museums, health centers, shops, parks, pharmacies, churches (Primatial Cathedral of America), banks, super markets. Just two blocks in the other direction, you will find yourself on the famous Malecon (a 10 kilometer boardwalk)
There is constant public transportation and affordable taxi options in the area.
A little bit about us: My husband Rafael and I are retired from our teaching professions, and passionate about showing travelers the riches of our country. On occasion, my daughter Maria Raquel (a dancer with the national ballet dominican) and her husband Ygor come to the apartment to help out when I go to my country home.
We are happy to arrange airport pick up for a nominal fee of $30 USD (not included in the rate and is payable upon arrival at the apartment).
Safe travels and can’t wait to host your Dominican adventures!

Luz made me feel welcome the moment I stepped into her home! I felt like I was a part of her family and she was willing to help me figure out where I should visit in the Zona Colonial. She even fixed the zipper of my pants for me!! My accommodations were very comfortable and had everything I needed. I also really enjoyed meeting the other people staying in the home. Such a great way to travel and I would definitely visit again :)
Lovely family that took good care of us in Santo Domingo. Nice rooms and bathroom. Real Dominican breakfast served by Luz. Nice!! Good location near shops, restaurants and bars. We got good help from Luz son in law that picked us up and drove us where we needed. Felt like a safe way to go around, we rather paid him than a taxi.
We will definitely come back to Luz hospitality!
Thanks to Senora Luz and her family for their wonderful hospitality. Senora Luz was very helpful with directions and getting us taxi service whenever we needed it. Even though we ended up spending our last nihht in another location, Senora Luz kept in contact. She made sure we made it there safely and even connected us with a taxi to the airporr. Muchas gracias!
Muchas gracias!
I love Luz place. She is a special kinda lady. I went for surgery. She is close to Cipla, CECIP and doctor manon. She made life so easy. I never once had to ask for anything she made me feel so special. She made sure I ate and I never had to lift a finger. She cleaned up twice a day. I miss being there as I am already planning a trip to go back. I miss her and her family so much.
Luz has been a very welcoming and interesting host! She is very knowledgeable and told us about her country. We only stayed one night but she got up very early to prepare a very nice breakfast before our long bus journey and called a taxi for us. Muchas gracias Luz!
