Interaction with Guests
I am always eager to converse with my guests. It is up to the guest how much they want to interact.
I love that my neighborhood is very quiet. There are no children nearby or dogs out in the yard barking. It is very safe and peaceful and friendly! I live very close to the interstate so it is very easy to get most places in a short time but I'm far enough away that I don't get any noise from it.
There is ample parking on the street. The ride from the airport is very easy and direct and takes about 10 minutes.
My home is a non-smoking household. Check in after 3pm and check out by noon although alternate times can be accommodated upon request. Please no guests during stay other than confirmed guests. I look forward to welcoming you!
Susan was welcoming and accommodating. The description of the space was accurate. It is a spacious suite, including an office, on the second floor. People with disabilities should know that there is a long, steep stairway to these rooms. The place was very clean and nicely furnished. The neighborhood was pleasant, quiet, and safe to walk at night, with ample parking on the street. The drive to Duke was a bit longer than expected, about 30 minutes in normal traffic, rather than fifteen minutes, but it is a nice drive and we didn't mind.
Another great stay with Susan. Her house is clean and cozy and she could not be any more gracious or welcoming... and Banjo is a charmer.
What a wonderful, comfortable way to discover Durham! Susan's house is a laid back version of a model home. It is clean and neat with personal touches everywhere. The entire upstairs was ours which gave us privacy and space. The bed was a lovely, soft place to lay our tired heads. The neighborhood is quiet yet so close to everything. Susan always had time to visit with us and made us feel at home. Banjo is the cutest dog ever!
Susan was more than accommodating! First off, we felt so at home even though she wasn't there (were arrived during Christmas and she was away). Everything we needed was there to make us feel at home. If you know someone else who can make you feel welcome while being miles away let me know :)
But besides that, she was so nice when my father forgot his insulin pen in the fridge. She was very patient with us as we tried to figure out the best way to get it back. She ended up sending it all the way back to NY for us!
She's very kind and I wish I could have met her!
Susan was great. she made us feel at home, was very helpful and well organized. One does need a car in the neighborhood. Everything was as presented in the promo material. The Space she provides is more than adequate and she was very respectful of our privacy, yet very friendly. Her dog, banjo is wonderful. We had a beautiful visit.
The only negative is that the stairs are quite steep made a bit difficult if, like we did, you have heavy bags. But Don t let that deter you!
I so enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit! I know you had extended travel this time and had those two huge bags that Debbie had to get up the stairs. Although the stairs are normal steepness I know they were more daunting because of the weight and size of your bags. ;-) I hope the remainder of your trip was as wonderful as your visit in NC!
Susan is an excellent, friendly host, and her house was quiet and charming, in a calm, central location for exploring the Triangle. We'd definitely stay again if the chance presents itself.
For being a relative stranger, I still felt completely comfortable and right at home from the moment I walked in the door. Banjo is an absolute sweetheart and Susan herself was so incredibly warm and friendly it felt like I'd known her for years. She has a beautiful home and it was perfectly situated - close to RTP, not far from downtown Durham but in a very quiet neighborhood. I can't wait to go back, actually, even though it means I'm probably travelling for work reasons!
I love to travel and have had the privilege of visiting many European, Asian and Scandinavian countries and even went to Guam!
I enjoy live Broadway musicals, singing in my church choir, love good food and red wine (especially Italian food), enjoy reading books that help me with my personal growth and my passion is my business which is selling high fashion jewelry at home shows!
I'm an easy going person who loves people and new experiences and Airbnb has been an amazing one!
