The room faces south so guests always enjoy how refreshing and comfy the sun feels as it fills the room during the day. Interaction with Guests
My girlfriend, Mayara, and I live in the apartment. We are always happy to interact with the guests and willing to share our knowledge of the neighborhood and city to help you get the most out of your stay. On occasions we have friends or family over and we invite our guests to join us.
When we are not at home we may host other guests either in the living room sleeper-sofa or in the master bedroom.
The location is quiet yet it provides easy access to where all the action is. Downtown is a 5 minute drive or subway ride away making it easy to quickly escape to: City Center Mall, Citadel Theater, Art Gallery of Alberta, Empire Cinema, Alberta Legislature, Winspear Centre for Music, Shaw Conference Centre or a number of popular bars, clubs, pubs, and restaurants along Jasper Avenue.

I really enjoyed staying at David's place! It opened me up to a new way of traveling. The room was very clean and comfortable. David was accommodating and was knowledgeable about the city and what was going on. The apartment was easy to enter and exit when I needed. I wish I could have interacted with him a bit more but they were going on a trip while I was there. I enjoyed the hospitality I received, especially when he moved me over to their other apartment for the last couple days of my trip because they were going to be away. It was such an easy way of traveling I would reccommend David and AirBNB to others.
David and Maybe made me feel very welcome in their home - the room was neat and tidy, and was made up with fresh linens. The bathroom was clean and they left plenty of fresh towels for me. The room was exactly as listed - very attractive, with a nice sized window and a ceiling fan, which was really nice since it was quite warm in Edmonton when I was there.
They were kind of enough to let me use space in the fridge and the space offered pretty much anything else you might need for a short stay in Edmonton.
The apartment as a whole was also exactly as described/shown in other listings - very clean. Nice neighbourhood, very easy access to LRT, secure building. I only have excellent things to say about David & Maya, and their home.
David and Maya are very friendly and helpful. Even though we weren't able to meet on the first day, I got in without any trouble. They invited me out to chill. The room and bed are a little bit smaller than I thought (twin), but it was definitely clean and tidy. The bathroom was pristine. Location was great for K days and very close to downtown. Would definitely stay again =)
It was great to stay with David and Maya again, its my go-to place when I'm in Edmonton. I always have a great time, they are exceptional hosts, super friendly and always making their guest feel welcome.
I didn't meet Maya but David was very easy to get along with and made me feel welcome in the short time that I was there. The condo is super nice and full of cool tech. It was a great experience.
David is a great guy and he place is set up beautifully. He is very helpful regarding the things one should do in Edmonton and his place is in a great location for getting around. I highly recommend this spot

About the Host, David & Maya
David is originally from the Cycladic isles of Greece and Maya is from the coast of Brazil. We now call Edmonton our home. Living in the Bellevue community, close to city centre, is great fun as we are very close to all the major events. We also like to indulge in the cultural offerings the capital city’s downtown has to offer such as the gallery, theater, library, and cozy Jasper Ave pubs, especially with the Light Rail Transit a block away from home.
David is an MSc student in Psychopharmacology at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta. His research combines genetics and pharmacology to develop personalized treatments for patients suffering from addiction and/or mental illness.
Maya is an Electrical Engineering student who specializes in communications. Currently her research is in the Center of Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta making small code smaller so the smallest devices can do more.
Together we love playing and talking about tennis so our condo is filled with references to the sport we love. We enjoy travel (especially to warm ocean-side destinations), food, music, languages and exploring the beautiful landscape that Canada offers. David has an interest in dinosaurs and the archeology of ancient civilizations while Maya has a soft spot for robots.
Our home is always ready for visitors. We like to keep it clean and uncluttered, such as you would expect a good hotel space. We also have this constant urge for home-improvement so some returning guests may find our home changes slightly from visit to visit.
Vincent van Gogh once said "The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore." We often find ourselves when travelling running off the beaten path and toward the "sea" of opportunity that holds the promise of some adventure.
