About this listing
This comfy room is part of a two bedroom apartment furnished in a minimalist contemporary style. The room fits two, located on a quiet street just 5 min from downtown. Enjoy a full kitchen, groceries next door, and access to the subway a block away.
This listing was designed to host single travelers but the room fits up to two. The apartment is unique as it beautifully fits contemporary minimalism with a number of cool technologies such as a smart-lock, and state of the art home entertainment system. The room faces south so guests always enjoy how refreshing and comfy the sun feels as it fills the room during the day. During the evening the living room lights adjust to cooling blue hues that set the tone for a cozy night of watching movies in the winter or breezy night reading a book on the balcony.
You will be accommodated in the guest bedroom that can sleep one on the single bed and an extra one on a twin air mattress. The full bathroom is shared with any guest visiting the apartment. Feel free to use the PC in the room, which is also connected to Netflix.
You will also have access to the following shared amenities: a full kitchen (microwave, stove, oven, fridge, washing machine, any spices or oils you need to cook), washer/dryer, living room (home theater system), Wi-Fi, and balcony area.
Free visitor parking is available as long as you sign in your vehicle in the guest lobby. Visitor parking is limited to 4 consecutive days upon which street parking can be utilized.
Also available to you is unlimited calling to the US and Canada through the home smartphone. This guest Android smartphone is loaded with a local prepaid SIM card that you can borrow for the duration of your stay. Alternatively, if you have your own unlocked phone, you can just borrow one of the two prepaid MicroSIM/SIM cards for your local communication convenience.

David is originally from the Cycladic isles of Greece and Maya is from the coast of Brazil. We now call Edmonton our home. Living in the Bellevue community, close to city centre, is great fun as we are very close to all the major events. We also like to indulge in the cultural offerings the capital city’s downtown has to offer such as the gallery, theater, library, and cozy Jasper Ave pubs, especially with the Light Rail Transit a block away from home.
David is an MSc student in Psychopharmacology at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta. His research combines genetics and pharmacology to develop personalized treatments for patients suffering from addiction and/or mental illness.
Maya is an Electrical Engineering student who specializes in communications. Currently her research is in the Center of Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta making small code smaller so the smallest devices can do more.
Together we love playing and talking about tennis so our condo is filled with references to the sport we love. We enjoy travel (especially to warm ocean-side destinations), food, music, languages and exploring the beautiful landscape that Canada offers. David has an interest in dinosaurs and the archeology of ancient civilizations while Maya has a soft spot for robots.
Our home is always ready for visitors. We like to keep it clean and uncluttered, such as you would expect a good hotel space. We also have this constant urge for home-improvement so some returning guests may find our home changes slightly from visit to visit.
Vincent van Gogh once said "The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore." We often find ourselves when travelling running off the beaten path and toward the "sea" of opportunity that holds the promise of some adventure.
