My place is close to great views, art and culture, and the city center. You’ll love my place because of It is built into the side of a mountain on 75 acres of private woodland adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The room is completely off the grid offering radiant floor heating.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).

The space
Please note that you are staying underground with the North facing side facing out of the mountain. We are completely off the grid and an exiting stay, if you haven't ever done it before. The rooms are very spacious and clean. If we have a week of rain or overcast conditions the water will be less hot. If a guest takes a very hot, long shower, the rest of our guests will get a tepid shower for the following hour. If a guest brings in heavy energy usage items like an air conditioner, the water temp will drop. There is no AC here but being underground has it's advantages and the rooms stay at 71F or below year round if the door if shut. The skies and the lightening bugs are spectacular here and the wilderness will invite you to visit. Please stay on the trails and do not wonder through the tall grass.

We live in a community - commune for short. Please avoid the homes across the lake unless you are having an emergency. The Event Center is at the bottom of the hill across the lake. You are welcome to walk around but if there is an event going on, please avoid the area unless you have been invited. Feel free to contact Maggie for details. There is a farm store next to the Event Center. We welcome you to walk over and check it out. We accept cash or check and everything is grown on site.
