Alex is a great host, she is helpful and very considerate. She knows the neighborhood well. This location is very convenient, so easy to get to Manhattan. This was my first airb&b stay and I found the experience with Alex to be very reassuring.
Alex place is nice and well located. We didnt met but she was always helpful and nice.
Alex's place is in a great location and was easy to find. The bed was comfortable but quite noisy. I think we caught her at a busy time as she was quite stressed to get the place tidy for the next guests. While I admire her will to keep a clean place, when we arrived it was not in great shape (kitchen and bathroom mainly). We had asked for a late checkout and Alex said this was no problem. We did however have our bags packed and were out of the bedroom by 10am so she could prepare it. We had requested to stay till 3-4pm but on the day she had told us to just relax as the next guests were not arriving until after 5pm. In the afternoon she became quite flustered as she suddenly seemed to be running out of time. It also seemed to be a hassle to use the washer in the morning even though it was offered in the list of amenities. By 3:30pm, the situation had changed and we felt very unwelcome. Overall the stay was acceptable, but probably wasn't an ideal time for Alex to be hosting.
Andrew it was busy time indeed. you make reservation the same day for 1 night only. and the next day i was leaving for a car trip to Canada and had another guests to arrive. usually guests apologize for the short notice... You arrived after 9pm on friday night! despite that i finished work at 6 pm and had plans for the friday night. i was cleaning the whole loft before your arrival. the next day i was leaving . my daughter in law come to help me as i was tide in time. you asked me to leave things in a leaving room until 3 pm only. read our conversation again:
" Our flight from JFK to LAX on the Saturday is at 6:45pm so we were wondering if we could possibly leave our bags at your place somewhere during the day while we hang out in the city and then if we could perhaps come and shower and collect our bags around 3pm that would be awesome. We won't need to use the room from 9am or so, just a quick shower. Let me know what you think. It would be much appreciated"
it was no problem to use a washer at all. surprise you mention about that? You perfectly saw that i had just enough of detergent for 1 laundry only and change your mind by saying that it is not enough time for you to do it. i'm not obligated to supply you with detergent... when you come back around 3 pm the guest room was already clean , with a fresh sheets on a bed. but i kindly suggested to go to that room after your shower to change. however you left your bag and cloths on a fresh sheets and left again without notify me about . it was 4 pm and you still keeped the keys from the apartment and your stuff in a guest room. and i was suppose to leave on my trip already!
Unfortunately you saw situation only from your point of view. good luck with your travels
If you wanna stay in the heart of Williamsburg for a few days this is a great place. Alex is really helpful with tips on where to eat. One block away from the L train in Bedford.
Alex was a lovely host. She and I spent some time getting to know each other. The accommodations were perfect, comfortable and clean. Williamsburg is a great neighborhood! Lots of restaurants, bars, shops and much more.
Booked the room with Alex last minute, she couldn't have been more accommodating. Then I extended my stay for an extra couple of nights, again at the last minute and again Alex was perfectly accommodating.
The apartment is great - bright, spacious and in a fantastic location - and it has roof access for spectacular sunset views! Alex helped me get oriented and was more than happy to offer suggestions about cafe's and places to eat. Highly recommended!
Alex was such a great host- we came in pretty last minute to see all the events
at Bushwick Open Studios and needed a place to stay for just the night, and she
was so accommodating, and quickly to respond to all my questions. She even took
the time to help us with figuring out the keys and to make sure we got the hang
of getting back into the apartment after our Brooklyn activities. The apartment
was very cool with nice lighting and high loft ceilings- even had an awesome
mural painted on the wall- it was truly a great Williamsburg experience!
you so much!
