Beautiful stay in the most romantic city in the world, Florence. Olivia's house is beautiful in a lovely location away from the tourist area but not too far of a walk to the city. Room was as expected with a clean bathroom nearby. Olivia was very kind to assist with my travels back home on my last day. Overall a lovely stay.
Olivia made me feel at home for the month that I stayed with her. She introduced me any time her family or friends stopped by. It was nice to have a private room and access to the kitchen where she made space for my groceries. The bathroom was also mostly private. I really enjoyed the property and the view Olivia showed me from the top of the hill. Because I stayed for almost a month, Olivia was very kind in sharing her TV (with cable!) Her son was rude at times, not too often, but he is young and often out. I also loved her dog, a large Boxer. The house is about 15 minutes walking to anything you would like to see while in Florence and when I went out at night Olivia let me borrow her bike to ensure a safe return. I am truly grateful for her hospitality during my stay in Florence.
Staying with Olivia and her teenage son Alessandro is very nice. A few things: the room is right off the kitchen and living room so it can be loud. Ric, Olivia's boxer dog, is very friendly but don't pet him (even though it is tempting because he's friendly and cute!) because he will think you want to play which in his mind involves a lot of foot biting and jumping on you. And he is BIG! :) Olivia's family lives nearby so you can expect that they will come over a lot and you will meet real Italians. Olivia was even kind enough to take me to see a comedy show in Florentine vernacular one night which was very interesting! Her home is in a really pretty garden in a great neighborhood for being away from the insane crowds but still close enough to walk everywhere. I was very grateful for the use of the washing machine and kitchen as I was in Florence for an extended period of time. The room is small but cozy and you pretty much have a bathroom to yourself.
Olivia was an amazing host! On one of my first days here she took me to the market to get all the groceries I needed. She helped me with directions around the city and was kind enough to let me share Easter with her family! The house and garden are beautiful. I've really become very comfortable here and am glad I picked this house to stay in!! Very happy! The private bathroom is also really lovely and has awesome water pressure! Stay here!!!
Olivia was an excellent host during my study abroad in Florence. Her place requires more walking than living in the center, but you have the open space and quiet that comes from living outside of the touristic center. Her house is located among beautiful natural life like olive and pear trees with a fantastic view of the Duomo. She and her family really took me in as their own during a difficult time in my life -- I am eternally grateful. You don't just gain a room with a private bathroom and splendid kitchen, you also gain a friend and family.
The house is like you've seen in the pictures. The room is so lovely and you also have a private bathroom. Location is great, you can reach everywhere by walking. Olivia was a great host, she let me feel like i'm at my own house. Rick is a lovely dog, do not worry about him. If i visit florence again i'd sure stay at Olivia's.
This place is really nice, both location-wise and cleanness-wise. Olivia is a great hostess. I would totally recommend this place.
E' un polmone verde nella città di firenze, ho dormito molto bene e ritornerei volentieri, grazie davvero ad Olivia, Alessadro ed al gran giocherellone di rik. :-)
Communication is important and Olivia was very helpful throughout from the time I arrived in Florence to when I left for home. And despite Olivia not feeling too well due to an accident, she made way to make sure I was well taken care of during my stay.
Olivia and her family were very friendly and hospitable and she does have a medium sized dog who is very playful. Her home is located away from the touristy area and was very nice. Walking to city center would take about 20 min depending on how fast you walk and I find the off-beaten path shops and restaurants charming and much more affordable than in the city center.
Throughout my time in Florence, she has helped me planned few of my activities such as day visits to Siena and Verona, and helped map out interesting points of interest in Florence such as Piazza di Michaelangelo which has an amazing panoramic view of the city especially during sunsets.
Overall, I have enjoyed my stay with Olivia and would recommend her as a host for anyone on their next visit to Florence.
My stay at Olivia's place was wonderful! The house is in a great location, with a beautiful yard-a great place to come back to after walking around in the city-and the house is new and very comfortable. Olivia is a great host, she always did everything she could to be helpful. They have a great, playful dog and I will miss him as well. I highly recommend staying at Olivia's!!!
