There is a 32 inch LED TV in the bedroom with built in DVD player and free access through NOWTV to Sky Movies, Sky Entertainment (including many boxsets) and catch up TV such as BBC iPlayer. Free wifi throughout the property. The large bathroom is newly decorated and has a separate bath and shower. At the rear of the property is a beautifully secluded walled garden with plenty of charm. Just myself and my small, extremely friendly dog live in the property but my boyfriend is often there during the week. Rest assured the dog is regularly bathed and I keep the house exceptionally clean and regularly wash the carpets!
We are less than ten minutes walking distance from Bristol shopping centre. There are bus stops two minutes walk away and also amenities such as takeaways and convenience stores. Temple Meads train station is a short distance away and there you have links to the rest of the country, including picturesque, historical Bath, which is only a fifteen minute train ride away. Bristol is called the Gateway to the West Country and this is a great place to stop enroute to Devon and Cornwall or indeed to go directly west into beautiful Wales. London is a two hour train journey away. There is free parking on the street outside and in the surrounding area.
As well as being the UK's first cycling city, Bristol has also recently won the Eco City award and has great cycling routes as well as public transport and is a vibrant, multicultural city with plenty of cultural, musical and historical events and places.
Free tea and coffee, cereal, plus toast and spreads: just help yourself.
Pets welcome under special conditions.
Only two adults are really comfortable in the room although it is a kingsized bed. I have had two adults and a child share comfortably and if you do need an extra bed I have a blow-up mattress which can be used in that room and/ or I have a 'put-up' bed in my dining room which can be used to sleep in although I will need access to the room during the day. I charge another £10 for this per booking, just to cover the extra washing and cleaning. Contact me to arrange.
I don't usually accept single night bookings because of all the extra washing and cleaning but if you are really keen to just stay one night I would be able to do this for an extra £10 cleaning premium, but this is not available at weekends. Contact me to arrange.
Guests have access to the whole house and garden (apart from my bedroom of course!) including all kitchen and laundry equipment.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to let my guests get on with what they want to do, but if they require information or help then I'm always happy to help.
It's a vibrant, evolving community with people from all cultures and influences. It's not a beautiful area by any means, but it is very convenient! We are situated less than a ten minute walk to the shopping centre (Broadmead and Cabot Circus) where there is a large cinema and many restaurants. Away from town there is a great road called St Mark's Road which has many lovely eating places.
Try the Greenbank, Volunteer Tavern or Phoenix pubs which are all a short distance away.
Bus stops on major routes to the city and around are situated less than a minute's walk from the house. The railway station and coach stations are less than a mile.
Other Things to Note
I have flexible check in and out times, but if you want to either check in or out at an unusual time please let me know beforehand to arrange, otherwise I will work on the basis that you will be checking in after 2pm but before 7pm and checking out before 12pm. Thank you!
You are welcome to use the kitchen as long as you clear up after yourselves. Free tea and coffee provided as well as cereal, toast, milk, butter and spreads. Smoking in garden only. Pets welcome under special conditions. There is no usual TV connection in the house but you have a 32 inch LED TV/ DVD in your bedroom and there is a TV and DVD player in the living room. Both TVs have NOW TV boxes and which give you free access to Sky Movies, Sky Entertainment (which includes many boxsets) and catch up services such as BBC iPlayer and 4OD. You are also welcome to borrow DVDs and watch them during your stay. There is free wifi throughout the house.
Please keep the noise to a minimum after 11pm and leave my home clean and tidy. Apart from that. please have fun and enjoy yourselves!
Upon my arrival I felt very welcomed by Stephanie and her little friendly dog Elsie. The house is very charming with many sweet accents and the room I was staying in spacious, fresh and very relaxing. In the evening I had a lovely bath and felt relaxed as though I was soaking in my own home. I was in Bristol for a training and needed some space to relax and Stephanie's place has turned out to be a perfect place for it.
Stephanie was an incredibly helpful and cheerful hostess. She even went above and beyond the call of duty by providing us map directions to a pet store we needed to visit soon after arriving. The description of the room was accurate, and Stephanie was very good about keeping the whole flat clean and cleaning the room when we requested it. Her dog, Elsie, was very friendly and good with other pets. The neighborhood was very close to Cabot Circus and great for shopping, but was approaching the part of town that felt a little unsafe at night. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying here.
Arrived tired after journey from Prague. Didn't realise that I'd left my debit card in the taxi. Stephanie gave us her usual warm welcome - toast and hot drinks and ordered us another taxi for the morning. Showed us how to use the tv and allowed us the use of her sitting room for the evening. Lovely hospitality, including the morning coffee! After our return home there was a message from Stephanie to say that the first taxi driver had taken the trouble to bring debit card to her. I like Bristol and Stephanie! What more did we need than the friendly, honest nature of the people we met and the ideal situation of Stephanie's home, within walking distance of local shops and shopping centre.
A really good first experience of Airbnb! Stephanie is both welcoming and helpful. Her home is comfortable, spotlessly clean and well placed in Bristol for the station and local as well as central shops. We look forward to another restful night on our return to UK.
The description that the host left was very accurate and the instructions to use the different equipments offered was very helpful. The neighbourhood was quiet, not very beautiful, but only 20 minutes to the city centre. The experience at Steph's was very positive.
Stephanie was a perfect host for me! The room was spotless and cosy, and the bed was extremely comfortable, which was important as I was in Bristol for work. Stephanie was incredibly generous, allowing full use of her kitchen and very fancy coffee making machine! It was the perfect place for me to stay, and I can recommend it very highly to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Bristol.
Thank you Stephanie -we had a lovely stay - the house was very comfy, cosy and she was kind, welcoming and very (email hidden) was also an ideal location so really helped us out!
Friendly, funny, considerate and kind, very laidback and happy and comfortable with pets and people of all orientations and cultures.
I love travelling and have been fortunate enough to visit many different places, my current favourites being New Zealand and Burma. I love to read and to go to the opera and theatre when I have a chance. I enjoy socialising with friends and spending lots of time with my little dog and singing.
I think Airbnb is such a great idea, not only to make or to save a little money but also to meet lots of interesting people from all over the world and to help them explore and discover the amazing city of Bristol.
I'm happy to help you with advice on where to go and what to see, both in Bristol and throughout the country.
