Very quiet neighborhood, also a dark neighborhood because there are essentially no street lights. You can see the starts and Milky Way from here -weather permitting.

My husband and I had our first Airbnb experience staying at Heikki's apartment in April. We stayed for a whole week and loved every minute of it. The photos don't do the view or the apartment justice though. Upon arriving, I noticed how clean and well kept everything was. There was a chilled bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge, fresh fruit and snacks on the kitchen table, not to mention water bottles, yogurt, creamers, condiments in the fridge as well! We are foodies, so when we saw the big variety of herbs and spices in the kitchen, we were impressed. There is a Keurig machine with an assortment of teas and coffees available. Plenty of clean towels, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bath soap (not the cheap stuff either). So many other things available and so well thought out, you won't need anything extra to pack. As you can tell, we were very happy with the amenities. :) The view outside was just breath taking, we fell in love with the neighborhood and Malibu instantly. If you have any questions about the area, Heikki created a thorough and humorous manual to reference during your stay (places to hike to, visit, eat/drink, etc). Everyone in Malibu was very nice and the entire area had a great vibe (weather is absolutely perfect). I can't say enough about this place or our host except we can't wait to visit again next year! We probably won't be booking anymore hotels in the future, just love the Airbnb experience. My sister also booked an apartment through Airbnb and had a great host and place as well in Malibu in Las Flores Canyon. Thanks again for everything Heikki! :)
Heikki's place was awesome! The view alone made my stay well worth it. Our check in was seamless. The place was clean and well equipped. The house manual was very helpful as well. All our questions were answered promptly. Thanks Kloie!
My brother even left his toiletries at the unit and we were able to return to very next day to get them!
Overall, we had a great and stay and I would highly recommend Heikke's place to anyone traveling to the area.
No words to describe this property, 10/10!
Heiki was amazing! Can't wait to come back!
My boyfriend and I came here for one night as a stay-cation. The apartment, views and neighborhood are gorgeous! We used Heikki's guide that he provides his guests (along with everything else you could foreseeably need), and we went to the nearby Vintage Grocers per his guide's review and cooked. I also used his guide for the hike reviews and went on the Solstice Canyon trail (10min away). Heikki provides all of the amenities you could need to make yourself at home, great balcony view, plenty of TV channels/movies and overall a great getaway for someone looking to escape for a few days. I wish I could've stayed longer!
We just returned from a great 5 night stay - Heikki was there to welcome us and easily reachable by text if we needed him. The apartment is beautiful and looks just like the pictures - the deck and view are awesome. Neighborhood is peaceful and our whole experience was very relaxing. Heikki's guide to Malibu is very helpful. I highly recommend staying here!
We arrived late in the evening but had a welcome text from Heikki and a bowl of fruit and a bottle of Californian Champagne was waiting for us in the fridge.
The apartment was exactly as advertised and the neighbourhood was very peaceful, high up on a hill overlooking Malibu and the ocean. It was clean and bright with plenty of space for the two of us. Wifi worked well. The shower was wonderful. Plenty of hot water and different nozzles so that you could set it for water to come at you from all directions.
About the Host, Heikki
I am interested in making my apartment a good experience for you -all the while I stay out of your way. You are here to enjoy your stay -not to deal with me. I don't like hotels. So I stocked the apartment with stuff I would like to have -fast internet, printer, TV with a gazillion of channels (even if why on earth would you want to watch TV here?), all the kitchen appliances I can think of, grill on deck, etc. Blah blah. Within reason you should find pretty everything you can think of for you here. If you don't, it can probably be arranged.
I have been writing a guide "what's interesting for me in Malibu". It's now 30 pages long and it's yours to keep. So far my guests seem to like it.
You'll find more on me on that famous "book with faces" if you search for "heikki malibu" -most likely I am the only one you find.
