Great comfortable quiet space! The hosts were great, the house and Jacuzzi were clean and well maintained. I've stayed at quite a few Joshua Tree Airbnb's and this was by far my favorite.
My husband and I were lucky enough to book villa rocosa last minute for Memorial Day weekend. Frederick was quick to respond to all my questions, and provided directions that made it easy to find the house even during the pitch black night. We fell in love with the unique, comfy house instantly.
My husband and I absolutely loved Frederick's cabin. We had never been to Joshua Tree before and found the location of the cabin to perfectly located. It is close to cafes and restaurants and a short 3 miles to Joshua Tree National Park where we spent our Saturday afternoon.
The cabin rules/instructions were sent well ahead of time, so we found the place easily and got right into relaxation mode! The place was well equipped with everything we needed to be happy and comfortable! The hot tub was a real bonus! Star gazing in Joshua Tree is incredible!
Frederick's place was wonderful! We used it as a home base to go to a show at Pappy and Harriet's, see some art and go hiking in the park. It's a perfect location for all of that.
We thankfully left some time to spend most of an entire day lounging in the sun and taking in the scenery. We saw quail, rabbits, chipmunks, lizards and a roadrunner on the patio.
The cabin itself was very nice as well. All you need to bring is food/drink and you're all set.
This was my second time at one of Frederick's homes, and he did not disappoint. The location of Villa Rocosa is absolutely amazing; I truly felt like I was in the park. Lots of great outdoor seating to enjoy the view and nature all around. Thanks so much, Frederick.
Villa Rocosa was very nice. I wanted to stay there given the house was built around the granite rocks. That it was. The jaccuzi was nice under the stars at night. The outdoor fire pit was nice; and there was wood supplied. (We left some more too because we did't know there would be wood and brought some.) The house was clean.
The bed is a Murphy Bed in the living area, but there was plenty of room to live around the bed being out. It was easy to access the bed. It was firm but comfortable.
The kitchen was nicely set up. Some basic spices and condememnts were availalbe. The refrigerator made a strange rattling noise all day and night, which was not pleasant. I tried, but could not find the reason for it. It seemed to run fairly frequently too.
The bathroom was average to nice. Clean. Bring your own shampoo and cream rinse, as none were available during our visit. Just bar soap and towels.
The main attraction to this house, outside of the indoor rocks, for me is the outdoor area. Indoors the decore is tastful yet basic. But outdoors, there are nice rock formations to climb around on and nice patios for sitting, along with comfortable lounge chairs. There is 1 table umbrella for shade, and it was hot when we were there.
I did bring my service dog along with my retired service dog. They enjoyed the desert after they figured out how to avoid the cactus.
Villa Rocosa is close to town, yet you do feel fairly secluded. It is close to Joshua Tree National Park, which is a plus.
Fredrick was very responsive to emails prior to our arrival, but never sent any messages to see that we got there Ok; and he never sent any messages to see if everything was OK. (In my past experiences at Airbnb places I've stayed, the owner usually reaches out at least once to make sure things are OK. )
All in all, Villa Rocosa is nice, but in my personal opinion, was not what I would call luxury. For the cost of $300.00 per night, I guess I expected more. But we had a wonderful time!
Thank you for sharing you home with us.
