About this listing
Two separated houses with a sheared veranda along however with discreet privacy have the ability to be rented together or individually.
House 2 : 24,07m2 Veranda 21,90m2
Two double beds, in mezzanines (facing each other) one bathroom, a living room, with 2 couches that could be used as single beds for 2 extra people, and a fully equipped kitchen,WiFi, fans and heating for winter months. And of course the hot spot of the house is the super privileged terrace with 180 degrees view of caldera, the whole Sadorini island, the volcano and Thirasia island on your right. In whatever bed you sleep in House 2 there is a small window facing the view from the upper levels of the house. We have tried to keep the tradition of the cave houses and interfere as less as possible with the natural form so there is no separation of rooms in order to get advantage of the light in the whole house. The architecture is cleverly done preventing the privacy in each room.
You arrive in Santorini either by boat to the port of Athinios or to the airport by plane.
In both cases you have to take either a bus or a taxi to Fira and then to Oia or directly to Oia. The taxi costs 30-35€.
Once in the parking area of Kinotita you have to ask for the Red bicycle restaurant and the church of St Nicolas under which are located our cave houses when you will get down the church from the stairs (facing the church the stairs are 5meters on your right) our veranda is on the the left side with the number 658
I recommend you also to find the map (under photos in the site) and please please please print it because is very detailed and it will help you the house is the second on your right entering the veranda
Here is a link for a real time video showing the way from the Koinotita arcade to the house
Because of the stairs our houses are not recommended for older or disabled persons.

The house is located next to the Venetian Castle, where people gather from all around the world to visit this famous sunset spot and no more than three minutes away from the main street where one can find all the shops, restaurants and art galleries.
Oia is a beautiful village best known for its exquisite sunsets. Ths streets are paved with old marble. Here in this delightful village many tourists come and rent a traditional mountain home called an yposcapho. It is a simple dwelling built into the mountainside with all the necessary but rustic accomodations. It can be a bit daunting to find your house in the dark on very steep mountain paths but the spectacular view is worth it. Many locals come to Oia for the excellent cuisine. Tavera Katina is at the end of the island (Ammoudi) and has an unbelievable view, and is just under the house 10 minutes down the stairs in caldera. A typical repast would be fresh fish such as lithrini, tomato kefethas, tzaziki and Greek salad accompanied by a local wine. This is an extremely romantic place that will be cherished in your memories.
A daily excertion to Akrotiri Archaeological Site will bring your thoughts to Plato's description of Atlantis

Have an enjoyable stay

We spent 4 days at the appartment in August. This was one of our stops on 4 different islands. And I must say that this appartment was the best. The view is spectacular just breathtaking. We did not meet Andromahi personally but she made sure everything was organised to the T. We were welcomed by a friend of her who took the time to tell us all about the island and even arranged for us to go on a sailing trip. Just wonderful. We also had a bottle of wine and some crackers and homemade marmelade at our arrival. Although we did not meet Andromahi she was always very quickly to respond our emails. Santorini and our stay in the appartment were definitely a highlight of our vacation.
This place i magic. Healing for the soul. Full of sincere, genuine loving energy. Andromahi was extremely helpful before arrival to make sure, that we had all information, that we needed. We found a house with the most stunning views and were filled with peace already on the way. The day after, Tony, a friend of the host gave us a thorough intro to the area and activities including suggesting a trip with a catamaran, which turned out to be unforgettable. I could go on and on and on - we will be back, and we highly recommend this host and this place.
We really enjoyed our stay hanging on the top of the world!
Andromahi's place is exactly as pictured; clean, well looked after and has everything you need for a holiday. Communication with Andromahi was great and although she was away at the time we stayed we were very well looked after by her neighbor.
The view from the balcony is breath taking and never gets boring, the location is perfect...away from the crowds, but easy access to sunset viewing spots and close to the biggest car park in town.
The shared balcony is plenty big enough for the three apartments and we didn't feel at all 'overcrowded'.
If staying as two couples or a group of 6 make sure you really enjoy each others company as you won't get much privacy, but the apartment has been designed very well to accommodate that many.
I highly recommend staying!
We loved staying in this traditional cave home and immediately felt welcomed. The place was clean and very charming in its decor and layout, just as pictured on the website. Andromahi left us a welcome bottle of wine, chips, a few bottles of water chilling in the fridge, and some simple supplies for our first breakfast, including her homemade strawberry jam...exceptional hospitality! She also provided two good fans for the upstairs bedrooms, which made sleeping very comfortable. As Andromahi was in Athens during our visit, a neighbor served as host and made sure we knew how the house and neighborhood function. Tony also helped us arrange for a volcano boat tour, car rental and other details, which made our days smooth and enjoyable. Whenever we had questions for Andromahi, she was quick to reply with information and kind interest about how we were enjoying the place. The balcony provided a wonderful view and quiet respite. As a family with 3 kids, our favorite activities were the volcano cruise and swimming/cliff jumping at Ammoudi Bay, a 15 minute walk from the house...but beware the 300-step climb on the return (we once took donkeys up, which was fun and a relief!). We recommend On Top of the World 2 very enthusiastically and send our warmest thanks to Andromahi.

About the Host, Andromahi
I am an Interior Architect, I love travelling around the world meeting new people, finding out about new cultures, new traditions exploring different ways of thinking, behaving, and leaving. I am very intrigued and I admire every merging of thoughts, materials, landscapes, or different fields that might seem irrelevant or unrelated but they found a balance to achieve it.
I'm also very interested in yoga, taichi, and meditation (vipashna)
