Two beautiful cosy renovated cave houses in the hart of the very traditional village of Oia. With the ability to be rented together or individually
Our permit No in the Greek Tourism Organisation (EOT) is 1167K(phone number hidden)
Two separated houses with a common veranda which have the ability to be rented together or individually.
House 2 : 24,07m2 Veranda 21,90m2
Two double beds, in mezzanines (facing each other) one bathroom, a living room, with 2 couches that could be used as single beds for 2 extra people, and a fully equipped kitchen,WiFi, fans and heating for winter months. And of course the hot spot of the house is the super privileged terrace with 180 degrees view of caldera, the whole Sadorini island, the volcano and Thirasia island on your right. In whatever bed you sleep in House 2 there is a small window facing the view from the upper levels of the house. We have tried to keep the tradition of the cave houses and interfere as less as possible with the natural form so there is no separation of rooms in order to get advantage of the light in the whole house. The architecture is cleverly done preventing the privacy in each room.
You arrive in Santorini either by boat to the port of Athinios or to the airport by plane.
In both cases you have to take either a bus or a taxi to Fira and then to Oia or directly to Oia. The taxi costs 30-35€.
Once in the parking area of Kinotita you have to ask for the Red bicycle restaurant and the church of St Nicolas under which are located our cave houses when you will get down the church from the stairs (facing the church the stairs are 5meters on your right) our veranda is on the the left side with the number 658
I recommend you also to find the map (under photos in the site) and please please please print it because is very detailed and it will help you the house is the second on your right entering the veranda
Here is a link for a real time video showing the way from the Koinotita arcade to the house
Because of the stairs our houses are not recommended for older or disabled persons.

The house is located next to the Venetian Castle, where people gather from all around the world to visit this famous sunset spot and no more than three minutes away from the main street where one can find all the shops, restaurants and art galleries.
Oia is a beautiful village best known for its exquisite sunsets. Ths streets are paved with old marble. Here in this delightful village many tourists come and rent a traditional mountain home called an yposcapho. It is a simple dwelling built into the mountainside with all the necessary but rustic accomodations. It can be a bit daunting to find your house in the dark on very steep mountain paths but the spectacular view is worth it. Many locals come to Oia for the excellent cuisine. Tavera Katina is at the end of the island (Ammoudi) and has an unbelievable view, and is just under the house 10 minutes down the stairs in caldera. A typical repast would be fresh fish such as lithrini, tomato kefethas, tzaziki and Greek salad accompanied by a local wine. This is an extremely romantic place that will be cherished in your memories.
A daily excertion to Akrotiri Archaeological Site will bring your thoughts to Plato's description of Atlantis

Linen and towels are changed once a week also the cleaning is once a week. If you need extra the cleaning lady charges 15€/cleaning.
Two things may surprise tourists in Santorini. One is the abundance of cats: they are everywhere. Be careful in feeding them because food attracts cats from everywhere. (This is the reason we don't accept pets)
Another surprise is the lack of ecology and recycling. Unfortunately this a concept that has yet to reach this beautiful island, although the local children are now cleaning up the beaches

Beautiful Cave House with an amazing view and a perfect location. We had a wonderful time in Santorini, and getting back to the villa after a fulfilled day was always a delight!
Just watch out for your head when you go in the bathroom in the morning. Cave houses tend to have narrow door openings... ;)
We had a small issue with the hot water tank, and even if Persa was away, she managed to have it fixed during the day!
We had family in Hanging from the top of the world House 1 and 2. Both are exactly as described and in the pictures. Beautiful views of the main part of the caldera and a few minutes walk to see the sunset at the old castle further west. The houses were very clean, had spices, utensils, detergent etc in the kitchen and comfortable. House 2 has 2 double bedrooms but both are lofts. We are young and able so it was fine but not suitable for children or older people. House 1 has a level, more open layout and shadier outdoor area. Both houses could get a bit hot- some portable fans would sort this out. And if mosquitos are attracted to you, you will need repellant as most places in Santorini are open air. Your own plug-in mosquito device for overnight could help. Some were supplied in the house but didn't seem to protect me!
Persa was not on the island when we stayed so she gave us directions and her contact phone. We found the house ok but you need to ask in at the local businesses for landmarks and it was a bit tricky as we arrived in the evening and Oia is quite dark and disorientating to start with. Also you need to be able to carry all your own bags up and down the stairs. Persa left the properties unlocked for us but we had some trouble with the door handle of House 1- it seemed locked at first but then we gave it a really firm twist and no problem. After that, we enjoyed our stay. If you are very independent travellers like us, then you will be fine and enjoy these lovely houses. But if you aren't used to traveling on your own, you should choose somewhere else with more immediate help available to you. There's no cleaning service, no tv, no internet, no phone. So if u have a problem, u need to figure out how to contact Persa by yourself. But she does respond immediately and sorted a problem with the hot water straight away. Basically, we had a great time here but you're on your own!
Thank you for your kind worlds. You know that was my first year in airbnb, and I take very seriously the advices I get from the hosts. The problems you mentioned are already on the way to be fix. We have a confirmation for WiFi we applied and also fans and air condition would be very soon available. As for TV no we won't install any because we think it is against the atmosphere and the relaxation that seek our hosts in front of the caldera.
I understand the problem with the stairs, but you can't avoid them, Oia as a traditional location is bild this way. Is like saying that Mykonos is beautiful but has a lot of wind.....
You are right though for children and older people, we also mention it in the description of the house (we don't accept children under six)
Also working with the mosquito issue...
So thank you once again I would love to accommodate you again
All the best Persa
This was a beautiful unit right in the middle if everything in Oia. The terrace was huge and the view was perfection. The unit was spacious and nicely decorated. You have to walk to see the sunset but it is very close, just steps away. You cannot see it from the terrace but we watched it every night from close by or a restaurant. The shower was a bit small and the water escaped a bit but it made the cave unit feel more unique. There is no air conditioning in the unit but because it is a cave style home it stays cool. We were happy to retreat here to escape the heat. The large fan was a bonus. Overall a beautiful apt and we will definitely recommend it to others!
Persa's house is a nice cave in the colored Oia. We didn't met Persa so we had to find the place into the tiny typical ways of Oia, between a lot streets and steps, helped from her map and from local people: nice and friendly.
My girlfriend and I found the house very nice and with a breathless view on the caldera. On the other hand it's a cave, so if someone has problems with humidity maybe it's not the perfect solution for you and your clothes.
The bathroom is essential: a little problematic if you're tall as in my case especially in the mornings :)
The kitchen is basic (the coffee pot was a little bit dirty) and the bed comfortable.
To sum up is the perfect place for who requires an astonishing view but not to much house comforts.
Thanks for your kind words glad you liked it
Hope to accommodate/see you again, and believe me I' m taking your tips and advises seriously. We already work on the humidity (general though) problem, sorry for the pot, hope next time to satisfy you better. It was my beginning with the basic I could provide and the price was in this logic.
I' m learning, and through guests like you I promise to clime some level.
All the best
This is a very quaint little property nestled in the heart of Oia. It is incredibly clean with a comfortable bed and futon options for small kids. The decor is tasteful and the apartment is roomy. The terrace of course is the true delight and it is wide, and the view is breathtaking. Persa was available to answer questions which was nice. It was a bit stuffy inside so an additional fan would have been nice in the bedroom. Maybe if we had asked we would have been given one. Overall a nice stay for just 2-3 people. This apartment is a very nice option.
